Beautiful property that looked exactly as described upon booking! The space was perfect for our group of 12 people, very comfortable, and good AC (a must in central Texas in the summer). We loved our stay and would recommend the property to others!

Ranch House

What a great place to host an event with friends. The pool was great for cooling off after golf. We never felt like we were too loud due to the location and privacy. Tons and tons of space to enjoy. Thank you!

Great location

Pool table room fridge was not working. Remotes for fans either had dead batteries or no batteries. Loved the location and plenty of stuff to do at the house which made up for those minor inconveniences. Would definitely stay there again

Good little place

More information about what you have to supply yourself prior to check in would have been helpful. Silver ware was not available. Bring bug spray, or citranella candles. Splitting hairs though. Great place to get away and be self contained and have a good time.

Awesome stay

Had a great time at the dam ranch. Spent a lot of time cooking. Played games the whole time and enjoyed the view. Perfect place to getaway to from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Worst vacation ever

The description of the property was very misleading. It might be nice for a bunch of guys to stay at (small guys who fit in bunk beds) if they are here bird hunting or something. But not for family vacations. There was absolutely no mention of this being a “working ranch” until I received an email about checking in. That’s a pretty key factor when selecting a vacation spot. You have to drive to the lake, which is surrounded by cows, again a key factor. When playing in the grassy area we had to dodge cow piles. The king sized bed was hard and very uncomfortable. That’s the only bed besides 12 twin sized bunk beds. The lake seems to be a place where cows walk into with no good fishing spots. And there was only enough hot water for one shower. Overall, a very poor experience for my family. We left early, after the first night. I’ve always had excellent luck with VRBO bookings but this was an exception. I’ll definitely never book a place without reviews yet again.

As this is a newer listing and such a unique property, we were appreciative of the constructive feedback. We previously marketed this property as The Dam Ranch due to the fact that it is indeed a real ranch. We were unaware of the misconception that people may have with the name. Due to your feedback and to avoid future confusion, we have updated the description to include “working ranch”. Prior to your booking, the sleeping arrangement details were included in the property’s photos and description. While these sleeping arrangements may not be ideal for some families, we ensured the information was available prior to booking. As this is a newer property, this is also a brand new mattress. Typically when buying a new mattress, buyers want a firmer feel as they tend to become softer over time. We will considering getting a pillow top to make the King size bed more comfortable for our future guests. Additionally, the hot water heater has since been repaired to provide guests plenty of hot water during their stay. While it is unfortunate you and your family left early during your stay at The Dam Ranch, we hope you would considering any of our other homes and/or condos in the New Braunfels area. We would be happy to try to make your future stay a better experience for everyone. Thanks!
