RENOVATED AND UPDATED MAY 2025,
It's easy to relax at this Canal-front house in Oyster Bay, Florida. We have 2 kayaks and 2 canoes so you can paddle to the open gulf only 1/4 mile away or just fish off the dock. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Sleeps 8, the 4th bedroom has queen bed. Main bedroom has jacuzzi-tub, dual shower, coffee bar, screened-in porch. Tie your boat right to our dock. Boat ramp 1/4 mi. away. Game room has air hockey, foosball and pingpong. Visit nearby beaches.

PET POLICY: —we allow ONE small to medium sized pet (10 to 40 lbs), though will sometimes make an exception for:
one (1) quiet, well-behaved larger sized pet over 40lbs. or two (2) small pets under 20lbs.
two (2) quiet, well-behaved larger sized pets over 40lbs.
Must email in advance for approval for any pets over 40lbs. There is a standard $75 pet fee for each pet.

Two kayaks and two canoe, with all paddles and life-jackets. Boat Dock for your boat, boat trailer parking across street. 1000sq. ft of Deck, screened porches and Florida Room, Game room with Ping Pong table, Foosball table, air hockey table, corn hole game, full-sized video arcade. Beach chairs for six and beach umbrella, propane grill with grilling utensils, Charcoal grill, firepit. Home office with dedicated workspace for remote work--adjustable desk, ergonomic chair, power strip.
The "Oyster Bay House" is an ideal place to relax and recharge. Boat dock in your backyard. Put in at a public boat ramp only 1/4 mile away by canal, then tie up at our dock. House sleeps up to 8 adults. Xfinity internet with high-speed linksys router. Lots of decks space in front and back with lounge chairs. Game room with ping pong, air hockey and foosball, and board games for kids (monopoly, game of life, chutes and ladders, jenga tower) plus decks of cards for poker. Fully stocked kitchen. Big family room and florida room.

Several beaches in the area, just a short drive. We have beach chairs and umbrella. Bring a boat and tie up at our dock and be in the gulf waters in 2 minutes.
St.marks lighthouse only 20minutes , Panacea marine aquarium only 20minutes, Hike the national forests and explore.

Excellent family getaway!

This is such agreat vacation home for families with children! Our kids had such a blast! The home was so clean, and convenient to everything-- especially the gulf! So many amenities at the house we hardly left unless we were on a boat. A 10 out of 10, by far, and will DEFINITELY be back!

My kind of Florida

Wonderful stay in this beautiful area. House was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. Outside screened in porch was our favorite spot. Everything was operational. Did not miss the cable TV. Was a restful place to return to after nature walking all day.

Great Getaway

This older coastal home was a wonderful getaway for my husband and I. We enjoyed the quiet peaceful atmosphere. We loved sitting on the porch and watching the nature all around us. We decided this is definitely going to be a new tradition for the holidays and would love to go back to this beautiful place.

We were evacuated for Milton, so huddled in place. All amenities worked as needed. We would rent again as this location is quiet and accessible.

Sadly, not a good experience

As a previous owner of 4 VRBO properties, I am hesitant to give anyone a less than positive review. I will say that my conversations with the owner were pleasant and he gave me good advice about the area. The house though is in pretty bad shape. Many doors won’t close properly, the screens and shades on the porch are in tatters, many light bulbs are out, the remains of the gas grill are held up by a bench and a board. The small dock is only accessible at high tide. There are safety concerns with nails sticking through the handrail on the front porch and loose boards on the dock. Many small irritants like a tv remote missing the volume control, no stopper in the bathroom sink, and broken shelves in the refrigerator added to the overall negative impression of the rental experience.

Great Hideaway

Manager's Retreat

House was perfect for a few Managers of a local company to get together to do a little fishing and eat great food. House accommodated all our needs with a little "Old Florida Feel".

There was way more to do in this town than we expected--if you like the outdoors. It was a nice open house with a local area to convene in at the end of the day and watch a show. Property owners nice, informative, and low key.

Spacious and peaceful

The house and location were ideal for our large blended family. Enough room for our five kids to spread out and plenty to keep them occupied. Plus, the master suite was a nice sanctuary for me and my husband. I spent time each morning reading on the screened porch off the master - so peaceful! Definitely recommend this house!

Fun for the family

This property is great for a family! The game room was fun for our kids ages 5-9 and adults too. We enjoyed the fire pit and fishing off the dock. We caught a few whiting. It is great because you don't feel obligated to keep everything clean or perfect. It feels lived in which is great for big families.

Only way this house didn't meet the description, is that it was WAY bigger and more spacious than we thought. Had a great time, house was very clean. Owner had very detailed instructions and suggestions for us, which are very important due to the remote nature of the community this house is in. Very peaceful and a wonderful slice of "old Florida"

Great Getaway

Pure relaxation at the house. Friendly neighbor helped me navigate the bay !! Everything thing we wanted to do was available at our pace. The whole family- working X-gens w/ fresh college grads and one soon to be. We had room. Enjoyed the Florida room. Everything was Great !

Old Florida

Do rent IF: you like old Florida, great local restaurants, fishing, FSU football, boating (powered, canoe, and kayaks), plenty of space, reasonably well-supplied kitchen, and a common sense price. Do NOT rent IF: you are going for sandy beaches on blue water, like 20 something night life, like touristy areas and convenient shopping for souvenirs. We had a great time, spent an entire weekend fishing and enjoying the area (we'll retire here). Note that the house is very serviceable and a great place to hang your hat, it is not opulent or fancy but it is clean and enjoyable. GREAT VALUE!

Great family house

We enjoyed the large space with lots of room so the family could sit and talk or play games. It gave us plenty of space to be together but also break apart into smaller groups of people out on a screened in porch or game room. The listing for the Oyster Bay house is accurate. I didn't notice the spiral staircase leading to the master bedroom on the second floor in the pictures or listing and that was a bit problematic with all the stuff an 8 month old requires to get carried up there. It was the largest bedroom and the only one big enough for the pack and play to fit in.

Nice location - Unclean home

The location of this property has a lot going for it. The house overlooks a canal where pelicans and various water fowl are a daily treat to watch. It is pretty quiet and located in a semi-remote area. We were able to put our kayaks in the canal from the back yard and paddle out to the gulf. The spacious house, an older dated home that had suffered hurricane damage, has potential, but was not ready to be rented. It needs a lot of work and basic cleanliness was a major area of neglect. When we arrived we discovered mouse droppings in almost every kitchen drawer and cabinet. We spent several hours cleaning and sanitizing them and washing everything in them. (Throughout the week mouse droppings were discovered in other areas of the home also.) The floors needed swept and mopped. The blind in the kitchen was splattered and soiled. Some of the furniture had significant grimy areas. Several days into our stay, an odor from the sewer drain behind the washing machine began permeating the house and continued throughout the remainder of our time. (Opening the doors to air out the house helped.) There was mold growing in a bathroom cabinet due to an active leak from the shutoff valve. (The leak had a pan under it, so someone knew about it.) There are also many construction “projects” around this house that were started but have yet to be completed, as well as a few safety issues that need addressed including loose wires hanging down into the toaster and an outlet sticking out from the kitchen wall. Although it is evident that significant work has been done inside and outside the home to repair the hurricane damage, the inside is still unclean and unfinished.

Long weekend getaway

Great location . A much needed getaway since our “week” vacay was scheduled during the week the hurricane hit our town 😳 anyway we had a great time, caught lots of redfish and enjoyed nearby restaurants. If you are in the area give The Trident a try. It was really good 👍 House well equipped, nice dock and boat ramp close by . Great host .. thank you 😊
