Pam was the best. Before we arrived she gave great hiking tips for BBNP and lots of info on the area around the cabin. The cabin was everything we needed to explore the area. It was clean and comfortable. If you need extra supplies, you can find the a mile to the south at the Little Burro Country Store. The night sky is unbelievable!!!!

Perfect BaseCamp for 3 day visit to Big Bend

We left our RV at home and took Amtrak to Alpine and car rental to Terlingua. This cabin had all the basics plus a whole lot west Texas Charm .

Wow, that was a great experience. We really enjoyed staying in this unique cabin. We highly recommend this West Texas cabin and the adventure it brings with it. Loved it and hope to get back soon.

Big Bend National Park Hiker

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. 25 minutes to Study Butte and Teralingua. About 90 minutes to trailheads in Big Bend National Park. Great sunrises and sunsets. The property was clean and our host was quick to reply to our questions.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Greasewood Grocery. The cabin is right off the main road headed to Terlingua. It’s is a rain water only non-potable water source, which was not a problem for us. We brought our own water for drinking. The shower has an instant-hot water heater., which worked great. The AC kept us cold. It does have WiFi, but we did not test it during our stay. The host is very friendly and check-in process was simple. Great place to use as a base camp while exploring the Big Bend area. 👍 PS. We did have several people stop by thinking it really was a small grocery store. 😂

Great communication, excellent instructions on how to find the cabin. She answered all my questions about logistics and needing to bring water. Pam even checked area restaurants for us to find out if they were opened on Thanksgiving. Cabin was challenging to find after dark when we returning to be out for the day. Comfortable bed, great hot shower!

The pictures are exactly what you get. This was my first stay in a place like this. I’m totally a beach resort type of vacationer. I was surprised how comfortable I was here. If you like taking photos the location is perfect for portraits. I got some good night sky photography here. It’s dark!

Greasewood Grocery

The cabin had everything I needed and kept me warm during my stay. I typically camp when I’m in Big Bend, but Greasewood was a welcome sanctuary from a night of sleet and wind Pam was extremely communicative and helpful.And the shower was nice and hot!

No potable water. Air conditioner couldn't keep up with the temperature of 102! Need a larger a/c. It reminded us of our primitive camp in Pennsylvania. The chair was hot and no 2 places for people to sit except the the bed and the uncomfortable outdoor furniture. Definitely not worth the price!

No cell signal but fast internet. I loved sitting on the porch either watching the sparse traffic or in the back watching the sunset. This has the amenities of a hotel room but with much more character. There’s a fridge and microwave, but not much space, and you have to bring your own drinking water. The national park and any restaurant was farther away than I expected so plan ahead! Communication was great with the owner. It certainly has its drawbacks but the character made up for it. 5 stars!
