Floating Houseboat - A Fisherman's Retreat!

Fishermans Retreat is a large Houseboat on the water on Scipio Creek. Capt. Jr. Holland hand built this floating vacation home to take his bride Rhonda up river for weekend get-aways and fishing trips. Now it is docked next to the Water Street Hotel, ready for you to come and "Set a Spell". Enjoy the sunrise from the screened waterfront porch or toast the sunset from the top deck. This floating home can sleep up to 5 - 1 King Bed in the bedroom with a Queen Sleeper Sofa in the main living area. An additional Twin Rollaway bed is available. A full kitchen, large screen TV with cable, Wi-fi, and full bath with shower complete the set-up of this roomy houseboat. 2 night minimum, weekly and monthly rates are available. 10% tax plus cleaning fee will apply. NO pets allowed.

Awesome Location

Husband and I had a little weekend getaway and this boathouse was amazing! We loved the screened in porch and watching boats go by. Perfect location, nice view, quiet and private. Clean, comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommend this house. We will book again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Amazing property and very relaxing. Very nice and clean and the bed sleeps great!We caught quite a few catfish and a dozen crabs off the back of the houseboat. We accidentally mis-booked for 3 days instead of the 4 days we planned for and the owner Ms. Rhonda was VERY nice and allowed us to stay the last night even though she had a friend that was supposed to come and stay a few nights. Extremely grateful to her and would recommend this property to everyone! I'd give 10 stars if i could!!

Even better than expected!

We stayed at this property for a weekend while in town for a friends wedding. While we were already excited, the communication leading up to our trip was incredible and the property was even better in person. Perfect location within walking distance of downtown as well as nature areas. You’re surrounded by good place and good people, and I highly recommend to anyone visiting the town!

Leave your worries on land and relax on the water

It was comforting to know, from the guestbook, that we weren't the only ones lulled into scrapping adventurous plans and just staying on the boat! Wile away the peaceful hours on the observation deck, watching the wildlife that seem to visit the boat, and welcome back the fishing tours at the end of the day from the comfort of the screened porch. Arrange a tour thru rental management, or catch bass and catfish from the boat with a $17 3-day license. Watch for those elusive river gar, not to mention the gators and manatees! Take a short walk, or venture into town for your pick of great seafood restaurants. All the fun of a houseboat, with the convenience of shore power, designated off-street parking, and amenities close by!

Perfection!

What a peaceful long weekend! The property was super clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. You can walk to the local shops and restaurants, drive over to SGI for a little beach time, or simply sit and watch the boats go by. We have vacationed in this area several times, and I think this was my favorite trip. I am hopeful we can stay on the houseboat again very soon.

Very comfortable and clean property. Was easy to feel right at home. My trip got cut short and the rental management company was wonderful and very understanding. Look forward to returning in the future.

Wonderful!

This houseboat was so clean and comfortable, better than expected! We loved sitting on the screened in porch and also the sundeck upstairs. It was great to watch the boats coming and going and the gorgeous sunrises/sunsets. Thank you for the care and attention to details given to this place! We will definitely be back and hopefully able to stay longer.

Fisherman’s Retreat

We had a great time! But be careful though, because this place is addictive. We planned on a day at the beach but ended up spending all of our time here. We absolutely loved being on the screened porch watching the wildlife and boats going by right in front of us.

Anniversary Trip

We stayed at this property as a getaway from the stress of our careers and to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. Our stay was awesome!! The houseboat was clean, quiet and tucked away from the crowds downtown. It was well equipped as well...we cooked all our meals there with no problem. The highlight of the trip was spotting 3 manatees right outside our back door! We will definitely stay there again!

Peace

Enjoy the beautiful soothing view, looking out on the marsh and the bay. While you relax on the screened porch, wave at the recreational and shrimp boaters as they pass by. Added to this, the spacious living and bedroom as well as a fully equipped kitchen and bath are all you need to find your peace. Our only regret is that we didn’t plan a longer stay.

A perfect getaway

This was our first houseboat experience. It was so much fun. The houseboat is very roomy and perfectly located. We enjoyed sitting on the upper deck as well as the screened in porch and watching all the birds and boats go by. It was sparkling clean inside and had everything we'd ever need. Very nicely decorated and a very comfy king size bed. We will definitely do this again!
