Lucky are the few who will get to stay in beautiful sound front, Second Star to the Right. This home has enticed visitors and neighbors for years with its perfect waterfront cul de sac location. It was, however, always an exclusive private home - a Neverland to renters - until now. The ground level has an outdoor shower, fish station, boat dock with seating, hammock, and a rare private boat ramp. Kayak, stand up surf, windsurf, or fish off your private dock. The large first living level opens into a panorama of windows that catch some of the island's best sunsets. Comfortable resort furniture offers the perfect perch to view the entertainment center with a large flatscreen TV/DVD and listen to the stereo. A large modern kitchen with a huge granite breakfast bar and stainless appliances will bring out the best in all recipes and their cooks. An extra-large waterfront dining area has postcard views. Second Star to the Right has a landing-field-size furnished sundeck. The first-floor bedroom has waterfront deck access, and the neighboring full bathroom boasts a large soaking tub and a premium shower stall.

The large second-level great room with tall ceilings has a wet bar, comfy resort furniture, Romeo sundeck, flatscreen TV/DVD, and an extraordinary view of the water, wetlands, and sunsets. Both upstairs bedrooms have water views. The kids won't take long to find the upstairs furnished loft area - accessible by a built-in ladder. A large hall bathroom with a tub and separate shower is convenient for all. Second Star to the Right also has a full laundry room on this level.

Nice location, right on water…quite neighborhood and beautiful sunsets. Has stairs to enter and stairs to second floor.Only issue was NO coffee filters!!! So early morning run to Food Lion!!!No condiments what so ever….filters for coffeemaker are cone style by the way.So planning on cooking you will need everything.. of course we ate lunch and dinner out.. on vacation so no cooking!!Enjoyed this place will stay again…

The sunsets are honestly magical. The place felt like being on a boat in the best way. And the soaking tub, Chef's kiss! The place was clean and the neighbors were nice. Only thing I could have asked for was more linens and better kitchen equipment. But everything else was amazing

Checking in was super simple, we received our key code and got right in and could then sit and enjoy the most amazing views of the sound… absolutely stunning!!!

Awesome location

This is a great house in a great location. House is comfortable and spacious. Kitchen could use a few more items, but has enough to make do. Coffee pot was missing a piece, but it made coffee so we were good. The view is really sets this place apart, it's amazing! You really feel like you are right on top of the water and the sunsets are incredible. The only issue for us was the check-in and check-out times. It seems most places allow you to check in at 4pm and check out at 11am (I could be wrong). This place is 5pm and 10am. They did grant us an earlier check-in, but 10am was tight for us.

Simply beautiful location with gorgeous sunsets. Interior needs updating. Cookware, utensils, silverware were not very appetizing.

Location is excellent, house is nice.

Updated decks and docks are great. The house is in good working condition. The neighborhood is very friendly and we met the neighbors and they were very kind. The house comes with one serving only of dish detergent and laundry detergent. The kitchen pots and pans are not great, but we were able to make do, and cook nice dinners, although a nice steaming pot setup would be great, and a few new skillets. Our kids fished off of the 2nd story deck. We caught tiny flounder, pin-fish, and lizard fish. They loved it! There was a white egret that landed on the deck railing. Loons swam in the water outside, pelicans caught fish right before our eyes, the sunsets were amazing, we saw the Aurora Borealis, and also a comet! The layout of the house is very spacious, and open. The kitchen was very big. Everything worked. One thing that stood out to me, was that the kitchen had no sugar, salt, pepper, or any spices left over from other tenants. The coffee maker was "ok". Some houses you stay in will have a pantry with leftover spices and condiments but if you want sugar for your coffee, bring it. Salt and pepper for your food? Bring it. Bring a good frying pan and your favorite cooking utensils. We would 1000% stay again in this house, but now, knowing what the kitchen is like, we would just pack our spices, sugar, salt, coffee maker, and our favorite spatula, so that the cooking would be easier. Rent this house. It's about LOCATION. The dock is awesome, the decks and stairs are brand new, and everything just "worked as it should". We were very pleased. Bring extra towels, TP, and kitchen stuff, and you will feel prepared.

Amazing house with paradise views

Perfectly central outer banks paradise with the best sunset view in NC. Access to the Pamlico sound with the dock, boat ramp, and 2 free kayaks was very cool. 10 minute walk to the beach, 30 minute drive to Ocracoke Ferry, can’t beat the location. We wished it was a little cleaner upon arrival but all-in-all our dreams were fulfilled.

Loved every minute

Unbelievable view of the sound and sunsets.The new deck is awesome.Fishing station works really well.The dock is very nice.And the outdoor shower is great for storing fishing equipment.The AC works very well.The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I had ever slept on.House is located next to everything you need.Ocean is just a short drive.

Family get-away

The house was just perfect for us! Very clean & well laid out. The sunsets, sunrises & the full moon over the water while we were their was just beautiful. Fishing from the dock at the house was fun. We will be back!

Great location great views The front steps and the rear deck could use attention and the washer dryer wasn't working properly I called vacasa and reported it wasn't fixed when we left. Been staying there for three years might not stay there again

Beautiful house on an awesome canal

The water right off the boat dock is great for swimming, kayaking, floating with rafts. We brought our boat and launched it right from the ramp on the property. The sound is peaceful and beautiful, with great views from the house. All the rooms are really big, including the kitchen which can accommodate lots of people helping prepare the meals. The neighborhood is really nice, and you can walk to one of our favorite restaurants (The Froggy Dog). We really had a wonderful stay and will be back.

Deck needs attention back door to bedroom didn't lock shower door upstairs track is coming off so couldn't use the shower n shower downstairs needs recaulked it leaked out n had to keep using towels to soak up water n coffee pot didn't work n door upstairs to bedroom don't have a stop so it came off track but other than that it was clean n had plenty of room

Sound and Sunset Views

Great location and space but needs updates

The home was very spacious for two small families and had a great view of the Sound. However, we did have a few issues. When we arrived at the home, it had not been cleaned, although Vacasa staff had told us it was ready. A cleaning crew was sent over once we called and complained. We also had to call an exterminator due to a bug infestation. Small tiny bugs, possibly mites, were found on the furniture and all over the dock. The deck, porch, and stairs need to be updated, as well. The wood is very old and worn. Kids and adults got splinters. Other than these issues it was a good house.

Thanksgiving

House was spacious with an amazing porch for sunset views. I communicated with Vacasa 2 different ways to let them know the upstairs shower door was broken, additionally, there was no coffee pot, despite one in the pics of the kitchen, also one of the pocket doors on the upstairs bedroom was broken and would not close. I never heard back from Vacasa on these issues. We bought a coffee pot and left it at the house. Also, very limited kitchen towels and no wine opener.

Beautiful Place to Visit

We visited outside of the "busy season". That said, the house is nice and clean - and having waterfront was awesome! We tried fishing and crabbing from the dock with very little luck (1-crab). If I went back during warmer weather, I would either take or rent a boat (to take advantage of the opportunities this property has to offer). It's close enough to everything that the drive is not bad. It's far enough away that you will never feel "overrun". Very nice...
