This 1842 Federal House invites you to stay in a Luxurious, Private & Spacious Suite, with King Bed, well appointed private bath, comfy seating area around the Fireplace, dining table, Wet Bar with fridge and microwave, desk, TV and hi speed internet. A savory, homemade breakfast is served in the main Dining Room or delivered to your suite each morning. The wet bar with fridge and microwave is stocked with beverages, ice, coffee, coffee maker, tea, tea kettle, small oven, blender, glasses and dishes. The city of Galena does not allow us to serve or sell alcoholic beverages. Please feel free to provide your own. Outside relax on the front patio or in the back garden. On site, off street parking. Excellent location on Bench Street in the heart of Galena's historic district, next door to the Library and just steps from Main Street for all the restaurants and shops. Walking distance to Grant's home. The trail system for hiking is just out the back door. Ride a few blocks to the miles of biking trails. The Federal House is a petite B&B with just 2 suites. Galena get away

Great B&B. Very private and Wonderful breakfast. Close to everything and we had very nice dinners at three restaurants downtown. Highly recommend this B&B!

Charming Retreat

The room was cozy and inviting. Breakfast was great and host was timely with communication and responsive to our questions and needs. Located on the edge of downtown in easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Very nice stay.

Out host was a blessing to my wife and I. Very welcoming and encouraging with knowledge of the area. So great to be 1 block from main street shopping. We loved the spacious room with sitting area.

Great quick getaway in Galena

From start to finish, just a great stay. Kate was very easy to message with any questions we had. Property is exactly as it looks on here and is very charming. Quiet location within walking distance to wonderful Main Street. Amy’s breakfasts were delicious. We highly recommend.

UNIQUE PLACE

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Federal House. Loved the history of the home. It was clean and had everything we could have needed. Amy served a lovely breakfast every morning. We were very close to everything downtown and yet where we were seemed very private.

Fun Place!

We had a wonderful time at this bed and breakfast. The owner, Kate, was very friendly and accommodating to us and our dog Willow. The room was nice and equipped with anything you could think of; a wine opener, bath salts, cups, drinks in the fridge, etc. We LOVED the breakfast each morning from Chef, Amy. Next time we go to Galena, we hope to stay here again!

Charming escape — highly recommend!

This was such a lovely, charming “home away from home”. The suite is beautifully furnished & the fireplace is fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. So impressed with the attention to detail and warm atmosphere. The location is fantastic as well—within walking distance of tons of all downtown Galena has to offer. :)

Perfect Location

Our stay was the perfect getaway! Kate was so helpful in the check in process and with communication throughout the stay. The room was clean and cozy. Only one thing to note: the breakfast was not really as advertised. Although it was very good, it was prepared the night before and placed in our fridge for reheating in the morning. Still delicious homemade food. But unexpected.

Pleasant experience

Excellent location for accessing the main road of shops. Breakfast each morning was delicious, prompt, and served with friendly and attentive care. Checkin was a little tricky as we never got a text with the details and had to call the host at night when we arrived. But she promptly explained how to get in over the phone and we were good! Would recommend this B&B for sure.

Wonderful Experience

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by returning to the Galena area where we had come 25 years earlier. Our experience at this property was amazing. It has all the charms of an old house in a by-gone era. Yet, it has the modern amenities you would expect of a modern rental. The bathroom has been nicely updated, and the overall feel of the place was classic; yet contemporary. Our host Kate was amazing with directions, and she was easy to contact. Our breakfast was absolutely top notch both days. (Delivered right to our room). Kate even left a little gift for our anniversary! We couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.

Lovely place

Basically a suite with living and dining area so lots of room. Loved having my own fireplace. Would be ideal for two couples to use the downstairs areas as well. Very comfortable bed (although very high!), nice breakfast. Perfect location so close to main street. All in all excellent

We've been to Galena many times. We have stayed in the Galena Territories. This was a nice change. The room was quaint. Everything was comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. We would highly recommend it. We would stay here again.

Spacious suite in good location.

Nice, roomy suite and walking distance from the main shopping and dining street in Galena. Host was very communicative. Breakfast was homemade and very tasty, but I had to reheat in the microwave in the morning. It was not served in dining room or delivered in the morning per the listing.Would stay again.

Loved our stay at The Federal House

We loved staying here! Our suite was very comfortable! Kate was wonderful! She made us feel so special and welcome! Loved the delicious breakfasts! She stocked our fridge the night before with breakfast all we had to do was warm it up when we wanted to eat in the morning! The location was perfect to main street. We walked everywhere we went! Didn't have to worry about parking!the morning!

Great Getaway!
