The house was ideal for us. Warm and cozy with views of the fall colors (which was why we were there). You're on a hill all by yourself. A comfortable bed and a wonderful lounging bathtub! The short little Wynkoop Rd. was slow going dirt stretch but no problem with our small sedan. Oh, did I mention the great tea selection? Leave the porch light on if coming back at night, it's dim, then brightens when you pull in.Great location outside of Saugerties, but just a couple of minutes from a large supermarket and a CVS. We went to a movie in Woodstock, a Play in Phoenicia. Just a half hour north off I-87 are the historic sites of Olana and Thomas Cole. And I must recommend Opus 40, just a 10 minute drive away. In town check out the Inquiring Minds Bookstore. There's hiking trails of all kinds from easy rail-trails to steep mountain treks.

Very pleasant stay

Comfortable house and lovely yard. Great place for my puppies. Even had some entertainment watching the animals at the adjacent farm. Easy drive from HITS.

This is the second summer we've stayed at this property. Love the secluded location and the property is really fun with the dogs. Outdoor spaces are great - the porch with BBQ, the fire pit, chairs under the tree or out in the field. Big kitchen with good equipment.Ron the property manager is great & easy to work with.

Beautiful country cottage

Had an amazing stay at this beautiful home in Saugerties. Everything was perfect for a comfortable get away from the city. Very clean home with open kitchen/living room, two beautifully decorated bedrooms and incredible spa bathroom! Will definitely visit again!

Great getaway

We (my husband and 3 small kids + dog) had an awesome stay at this house! It was a great getaway location, close proximity to some fun hikes! The house was very clean and up to date and had everything we needed. When we left my 5 year old son was already asking when we could return!

Memorable Family Weekend

Fantastic property that enhanced an exciting family graduation celebration weekend! The house is very well cared for and updated, super clean, and in a great off main road location that makes it very relaxing. The kitchen is very well laid out, large, and stocked with everything you need to cook. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings and mornings. A really fantastic place for a family stay!

Beautiful, Comfortable and Clean!

We loved staying at the Saugerties farmhouse while our daughters competed at the HITS horse show. The property was very quiet and private and it was an easy 10 minute drive to the horse show and downtown Saugerties. I loved the decor - the kitchen and bathroom have very nice high end appliances and finishes. Bruce was very helpful and checked in periodically to ask if we needed anything and to make sure everything was ok. We will definitely stay here again when we return to HITS!

First of all, Bruce is the best! He kept in touch with me, without being intrusive, from my first question about the rental through my last day’s stay. I can’t say enough about this wonderful, beautifully designed and decorated house. If you want privacy and beautiful views out of every window, this is the house for you. I realize this is starting to sound like someone paid me to write this. But, honestly, especially after being cooped up as we all have been since March, the house, the setting, the adorable town of Saugerties, was exactly what my husband and I needed. My son and his girlfriend arrived later in the week for 1 night, and the first thing she wanted to do was take a bath in the soaking tub! My son took the initiative to get a fire going in the fire pit set up away from the house at the foot of the mountains, our backyard. Again, please don’t take this as one of those fake Yelp reviews. My name is Carrie and I’m happy to respond to anyone that wants any recommendations about restaurants or hikes.

Great weekend escape from NYC

Bruce (the property manager) had let me know about this property before it was listed when another one of his properties that my wife and I had inquired about was booked. He mentioned that the owners were still finalizing some small things to make the house truly VRBO friendly, but I didn't even notice anything missing at the time. In the pictures posted, I now see a kitchen table and some additional wall art were added - makes the place feel even homier than it was when we stayed. While the inside of the house was great - the kitchen and bathroom (that soaking tub is huge!) are really amazing and the pics don't do justice - the property is massive and you could spend a whole weekend just exploring without leaving the land. There are some really nice trails on the property that traverse through the wooded areas on the property and you're a quick drive to the many trails that the Catskills and State Forests have to offer. The property actually is right next to where a neighbor keeps a chicken coop and a cow or two, but you don't hear them throughout the night at all, and it's really nice (being from NYC), to be able to look our your window and see a cow. Pro Tip: You can walk down the driveway, buy a dozen of those chickens' eggs whenever you want to cook up some delicious breakfast and then sit on the front porch with your food and coffee watching the hummingbirds fly right up to the bushes that are next to you! Don't be fooled when you're driving up the driveway to the house -- although you see a couple of homes on the dirt road/driveway up off the main road, once you arrive at this property, you can't see any others and feel as if you are really by yourself to explore all the land this property has to offer!

You guys were kind of our ' guinea pigs' and you tried out the place before it was quite ready for guests. Very happy to hear how well it went. We have made some nice improvements since. Great place to stay with kids and close to HITS. We traveled with a 12 month old and 17 month old. There were a ton of toys already stocked in the house as well as a nice quality high chair (Abbiie Beyond). There were baby gates available for the stairs on the front desk. The rooms were both plenty big enough to fit a pack and play in each bedroom but the 3rd room (with the laundry) was still big enough to fit both pack and plays (we just slid the futon around a little to make room). The house was also well stocked with cooking essentials, tupperware, dish detergent, laundry detergent, etc. and had a mop and vacuum available for us to use as needed. Check in process was also super easy - it worked out that the previous guests left early in the day so Ron was able to let us get in a little early so the kids could nap at their regular nap time. Will definitely book again next time we're horse showing in Saugerties.

Perfect for HITS peeps especially if you have little ones and fur friends! So close to HITS (10-15 min) but a world away tranquil peaceful and cooler atmosphere. Abundant little kids toys and space for them to free range play. Loved the modern kitchen and bath which is rare to find in the area- host Ron was responsive and gracious! Lovely deck to unwind after a hot sweaty day at HITS

Excellent little camp very close to Woodstock NY. Very nice amenities and clean and comfortable Only 1 minor issue we got there on a 100 degree day and the AC wasn't running so that was a little rough the first 6-8 hours trying to cool the place down. The host was very responsive and we would book this vrbo again. 5 stars overall!!

Excellent for work and play

We had a wonderful stay at the property for a long weekend that was part business trip and part vacation. We even got to watch some wild turkeys roaming around while we were there.
