This charming apartment is nestled in a little gem of Georgian architecture-- a small town-house with a traditional old-Tbilisi style courtyard, surrounded by two levels of carved wooden balconies. The building is infused with a sense of local history, as it is over a century old. And yet the two-room apartment, with a private bath, has just recently undergone a full renovation, so all the amenities are brand new. We have 24-hour check-in and are always happy to help you with any questions.
Guests have an individual apartment to themselves but share the interior courtyard’s balcony (and the apartment’s main entrance) with our nice and unobtrusive neighbors. A small wrought-iron balcony is a pleasant place to drink a morning coffee, and it affords a view of bustling nearby Sabcho Square. Our guests get an authentic sense of what it’s like to live in Tbilisi - both the charms of traditional architecture and the unique experience of sharing a Georgian communal-entry space on a small and intimate scale.
Please note: The square is noisy and there is street noise coming in the bedroom. As you read from the reviews, it has not been a problem for the majority of guests. But if you are a very light sleeper, keep in mind that in the summer months, there is some noise late at night.
The apartment is located at the border of the Marjianishvili and Agmashenebeli districts, often referred to as the ‘second center’ of Tbilisi. Just two blocks away is the new, and very popular, hybrid hostel and eatery space called “Fabrika” (a former Soviet factory now turned into a creative space, a hang-out for locals and visitors, with many indoor and outdoor cafes, shops, and events). Regular nearby activities have included the Graffiti Art Festival, a Wine and Cheese festival, various visual art Exhibitions, numerous Movie screenings, etc. There are also nearby antique and vintage goods shops, and a fully modern and well-stocked 24-hour supermarket.
Within a 5-minute walk from the apartment, you reach the “New Plekhanov” area, a new pedestrian area with numerous restaurants, shops, and cafes with comfortable sidewalk seating. Tbilisi’s famous “dry bridge” flea-market is also nearby, and as you cross the river and walk a scant quarter-mile uphill, you will reach the famous Rustaveli Avenue in only about 15 minutes.
Three sweet and peaceful cats live on the common balcony. These charming felines are taken care of by your nearby neighbors; all the cats are fully vaccinated and flea-free.
