Love this property and it works so well for friends and family to drop in or stay overnight. Everyone has their own bedroom/bathroom. The fenced in yard is great for our dog and she loves exploring by the river. We spend most of our time in the sunroom or at the diningroom table doing puzzles, playing cards or board games.

We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful stay with our family of six and our pup. The property is well maintained and has such beautiful character and charm, and the grounds are absolutely stunning. Having the fenced in area for our pup was a huge plus and provided great peace of mind. Being able to hear the water from the brook running from inside the home and head to the sandy beach with a cup of coffee to enjoy it each morning was so soothing. Perfect spot to unplug and spend some good quality family time together. We hope to be back soon!

We are a group of 40 and 50 something friends who visit Vermont annually for a ski trip. This house was absolutely perfect! Great location, beautiful property, excellent hot tub and pool table, and a fantastic games room! Add to that a very large lounge and dining room for group get togethers - it really couldn't have been better. The hosts were really communicative, check in and out was easy, and we are already talking about securing the house again next year!

This house is a wonderful place for a large family. Places to hide away. Rooms for entertainment and so much more. This home is so quite really family friendly. We loved everything about our stay.

It's hard to believe this place is real. Beautiful, well-kept Vermont farmhouse in the woods beside a sweet little river. That would be enough, but there are even more delightful things to enjoy! My family enjoyed the pool table the most. The fenced-in area out the back door was a luxury for our dog, who has to be leashed at home. We played in the arcade room, which is directly beside the bunk room, conveniently! I liked that the house could sleep everyone and that there were enough adjoining bathrooms to go around. The house is laid out so that folks have different spaces for different activities; no one gets in anyone's way. The hot tub was perfect; clean, large, and conveniently located. I didn't use it much because I was too busy rock hunting in the dry riverbed! You'll see wildlife like deer and birds, tons of native trees, flowers, and mushrooms, and a million types of rocks. It's a beautiful area. Just up the road is a waterfall with nice swimming and ledge jumping. Wear sneakers and bring your water shoes!We loved it here and hope to go back.

Enjoyed the property immensely. So much room and well equipped and maintained. Host were great and communicated quickly. We didn’t encounter any problems. Spent time in Manchester which was 26 mins away. Would definitely go again and I highly recommend this property. Pool table and game room were awesome

Family get away

My family enjoyed having the space for everyone to have their own bedroom/bathroom. The property was dog friendly and our dog loved swimming in the creek and having a fenced area to lounge around in the sun. We loved all the indoor and outdoor spaces and made great memories at the property.

Definitely recommend

Our stay was fantastic! The house and property are beautiful and the location is secluded and peaceful, which is exactly what we wanted. There are so many things to do around it, so it’s the perfect home base. The property owners/managers were great communicators and recommended some really good places to visit. Weston was one of them and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend staying here!

We love this property for a family/friends vacation. It allows everyone to have their own bed/bath. The backyard has a fenced in area for our dog and multiple firepits (which we did not use this year due to the drought in the area). The property has seen recent upgrades/renovations which only enhanced our stay. Alex is very responsive to any questions of issues that might arise. We will definitely be back!

Wholeseome Retreat

Our stay was wonderful. Everything as described. The home was nice and cozy. It was big enough to enjoy with our whole family and my in laws and there dog. Plenty of things to do and the property was magical with that river running through it. We def want to come stay again!! Thank you

Family ski weekend

The house was as described plenty of space for all 11 of us. Excellent layout kids loved the video games, arcade games, pool table. We all enjoy the hot tub and cooking in the kitchen.Very close to Stratton Mountain with easy access the owners were very responsive and the kitchen had everything we needed. I brought shampoo and soap and salt and pepper, and everything was supplied very much appreciated.

Perfect

I would absolutely recommend staying here. The house is beautiful, spacious and so welcoming and warm. The location is great, private but close to town and the surrounding area. The fire pit beach area was so fun to hangout and make smores. We brought our dogs and they loved it! They had a blast in the brook and the fenced in yard area was perfect for them to run and play. Thank you for such a nice relaxing weekend, we will be back!

Another great vacation at the Pikes Falls farmhouse!

We love this location to kick-back and relax. The fenced in yard is nice for our dog Roxie. We enjoyed cooking smores over the firepit, hiking some of the local trails and spending quiet time with family and friends. Having separate bedrooms/bathrooms for each member of our group is a plus. Alex was very responsive and flexible.

My family and I stayed at this amazing country house for a 3 day weekend. The house was so large and comfortable. The access to the river was close and we enjoyed being outside for most of the weekend. The two 12 yr olds bounced between an incredible game room and the hot tub. Each room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was so much to do that we never even left the property. Everything you could need was in the house. The host, Alex, checked in and was available via phone if need be. If you are looking for a family spot to gather, I would highly recommend this house!

A wonderful place to spend New Year's!

We loved our stay! We had a big group: two families with several college-aged kids and a couple of their friends. There was plenty of room for everyone, a big kitchen for food prep, stocked with plenty of dishware, and a large dining room table. And there was lots of spaces for people to sit and read, or puzzle, or play pool when not out on the slopes. And for runners, we really enjoyed the challenge of running "uphill", including some beautiful views near the top where the road flattened out a bit near the cemetery. We also loved West River Provisions, a store down the road in the center of Jamaica. A great stay!

What a beautiful home!

This was such a great place to stay! It had everything we needed and more. There were 3 couples and my mother-in-law staying here. We each had our own room and private bathroom with shower. Lots of games, including a pool table. A brand new hot tub... so nice! Plenty of towels and supplies. Apparently we hit mud season, which we didn't know was a thing, but when it rained, we all relaxed in the big family room with lots of comfy couches, pillows, and blankets. Another highlight was the massage chair. Amazing. It was in use most of the time. If we get back in the area, we will definitely stay here again. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful and communication was great. Thanks for letting us celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th in such a beautiful place.

Perfect Winter Getaway!

Alex and Rebecca’s VT retreat is a true gem! As a group of 12, with 3 different families including kids of all different ages, the layout of the house was ideal. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom, with rooms to spare! There was endless entertainment for the children and plenty of cozy spots to spread out and relax in. It never felt crowded. The massage chair was a big hit for the whole family, especially after some great days at the mountain. Stratton is a quick 7 minute drive from the house, which made going back and forth throughout the day easy. The backyard and property itself is beautiful, with a babbling brook and tons of land to explore and fields of snow to play in! The kids especially enjoyed finding ladybugs in the window sills and setting them free outside. A highlight for them :) We definitely hope to make this house a yearly winter tradition for our family! Thank you for keeping such a clean, beautiful and cozy home.

Family time

This is an excellent choice for extended families who want together time as well as privacy and outdoor space for kids and space where adults can gather and play cards in the evening without waking up kids sleeping upstairs. House—a former boarding house—is generous in size and well furnished, and property is distinctive in that it's got a good sized fenced in yard great for young children and about half an acre of the property around the house is mowed, which makes for good play areas for grown-ups as well as kids. There's a river behind the house, and a great natural pool to splash in about 50 yards up river. Importantly, Alex and Rebecca were attentive hosts. We got to the property just a few days after the terrible mid-July floods that tore up the local roads, and on our first day in the house received a flyer from the Town of Jamaica warning us about another storm on the horizon and saying further damage to the roads could leave us isolated for a while. I called Alex, and he arranged for us to move out that night to a house in the nearby Stratton ski resort, and we stayed there two nights and then were able to return to the first house without worry. Excellent handyman associated with the house, so when something went wrong—a dishwasher that wouldn't drain all the way—Eddie was over in a couple of hours and fixed the problem. And if you're in the habit of getting up early, and are capable of walking quietly, you'll find deer by the river until they see you.
