Walk out the door to woods hiking, snowshoe, x-country, the Colchester/Burlington bikepath, ice skating, kayaking, fishing and breathtaking beach sunsets. Wander nearby natural areas or visit the vibrant downtown areas of Burlington or Winooski, then return to your private suburban getaway for one or two people to relax. Pets welcome.

Outside the 80 inch west window framed by dark chocolate-colored walls, you can spot the lake through the trees and even watch kitesurfers or skaters if the weather is right. The spacious sepia and pink private bathroom features a shower stall and a standalone tub with jacuzzi feature. Garage available to keep your car snug in winter or safely house your sports gear in summer.

Convenient location and easy to find, just one mile from the enchanting Colchester Causeway. Sail Wild Air boat charters are 8 minutes away. Downtown Burlington, UVM and Interstate 89 are a 15 minute drive.

The Chocolate Room

The perfect quiet getaway!

I cannot say enough good about KT as a host or the location/property in general. Usually when describing a room as cozy it means small. That isn't the case here - this studio was warm and inviting in every way and much bigger than the pictures tell. KT had a sheet with instructions, a binder full of recommendations, and she had coffee, snacks, extra blankets, and a couple of chocolates nicely displayed for me. Communication was always on point - KT provided the checkin information two days before I arrived, we exchanged numbers in case of a power outage or emergency (which saved me when I accidentally left my rental car lights on!), and the check in and out process was extremely smooth. The private entrance to the room was a plus and easy to get to. All of the instructions provided were clear, concise, and thoughtful. The location is quiet and in a beautiful neighborhood. It's an easy walk down to the bay waterfront beach and there are a couple of easily accessible walking/bike paths in the neighborhood. It's about 15 minutes from the Burlington airport. The bed was huge & comfortable. The heater and air conditioner were both easy to operate & quickly brought the room to a comfortable temperature. The jacuzzi tub was very welcome and easy to operate after a long day of hiking, & the towel warmer was appreciated on the chilly, rainy days I spent there. I would absolutely stay here again & recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet stay in a beautiful neighborhood in NW VT.

A wonderful and charming experience

Our stay was fantastic! The room was comfortable and clean. Located inside a lovely residential neighborhood. Our host had tons of local recommendations. It was conveniently located near downtown Burlington and not too far from the airport. The sights and trails nearby were also great! I highly recommend!

I have lived in Vermont 35 years and feel incredibly lucky to have landed in this amazing home near the lake and so much outdoor beauty and still convenient to Burlington and I89. It's a peaceful, relaxing location and it's been my pleasure for the last fifteen years to share it with loved ones, guests and pets. In 2021 I opened this rental suite and was honored to earn the title of "VT's Top New Host of the Year" from a site like this.

Sasha the dog and Sylvie the cat also call this place home. They're both very friendly, and you may see them outdoors.

I'm very COVID-cautious and compliant and expect the same of my guests. The property is always cleaned with guests' safety in mind.
