First impressions on arrival were that the villa is very rustic, like a converted farm house. If youâre looking for an idyllic, peaceful, quiet, private location to chill out, this place is perfect. Pluses: the house is huge. The grounds are secure and lovely. The pool is a reasonable size and not too deep at any point. The owner is lovely and called both before we set off from the UK and messaged when we arrived with clear instructions. The villa is near Madeleine de Nonancourt, a small, pretty, quiet town, with great supermarkets. Versailles is an hour drive away and worth a visit. Not so great: the games room and outdoor living area we didnât use, living room inside - while really comfortable - could do with a TV in it for evenings. The villa was only partly accessible for one of our guests, who walks with a walker. Though there are downstairs bedrooms and a downstairs bathroom, there is a big step from the pool area to the house which was tricky to manage, the toilet isnât adapted with hand rails/raised toilet, the grass is uneven to walk on outside and deckchairs arenât ideal for people with lower mobility issues. That said, we loved our week here: it was a beautiful, tranquil place to relax in.
