The RedBrick farm and property are magical! It's private, serene and convenient to all the lake fun/action. Accomodates 1-18 family and friends. Dog friendly, too! 1925 updated Farmhouse with modern amenities. Fitness room, game room, professional karaoke machines and over 45 amenities. .7 miles to West Lake Okoboji. Bunkhouses, too (sleeps 6-8, additionally). Three Showers and bathrooms in farmhouse! Buildings and property are amazing. Perfect for a family reunion, gathering, wedding, etc..! Walking/running trails, awesome nature and beautiful sunrises/sunsets. A stay here will be most memorable! Outdoor 300 inch movie screen with projector , too! BBQ, gas griddle and Smoker. 12 person fire-pit. Dog friendly ($75 per Each dog per stay)

Christmas and family reunion at the Red Brick Farm

Our family came together to celebrate Christmas from Montana, Ohio, Maryland and Iowa. We all had a grand time cooking together, exploring the farm, relaxing, playing games, enjoying the waterpark, bowling, library, and Memorial Park playground. The very best part was having Santa surprise us in person in the Enchanted Cottage! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time and the best part was having our fun-loving family all together at one time. Our host and his wife were wonderful and hospitable in every way. It just could not have been better! Thank you.

Family Fun Week

We had an amazing week on the farm! So much space for everyone to play and relax. Close to town and the lakes. John was in contact daily to ensure all our needs were being met. He was available when we were looking for recommendations. We hope to return in the future.

The farm is beautiful and had plenty of outdoor space for our family to spread out. There were many activities available to use like foosball and slipNslide. Outdoor movie screen was really cool. However, the sleeping accommodations were not comfortable, with cots bunk beds and twin beds in barn/sheds away from the house. The gas grill was charcoal only and the blackstone was rusted beyond use so glad we had a family member who could bring their own. The host was overbearing and sent constant messages and then would call frustrated if didn’t reply to his daily texts. He kept saying he was going to come mow and to pick up everything while our kids were trying to play, then would say he was coming the next day so pick up
all while trying to enjoy time with family, ultimately he never did mow. He also had “surprise gifts for his wife” Amazon delivery to the house and asked about it everyday demanding to know where it was saying it arrived the day we got there (it showed up mid week) so he had to come over. Some people may appreciate all the extra stuff and constant present of the owner however we followed the rental instructions and knew to contact if there was an issue which was not enough for him. I thought for cost of renting the entire place I would be able to enjoy family that only sees each other once a year instead of getting harassed!

There were 19 of us ranging from 7 to 70. The location was beautiful, lots of trees and not far from town and lakes. Were able to spread out because there are a number of places to sleep. There was lots of things to do and see at the farm. We had a great time,

RedBrick Farm: Group Ice Fishing

RBF was very spacious, the room accommodations, winter parking needs, and location. We needed enough space to accommodate 10 men with extensive ice fishing gear, food, and vehicles w/ trailers - this location had it all. Though the weather was cold, snowy, and windy this location was manageable due to the exceptional service performance of the owner/host John Eller. John met us at our arrival, was always available (when needed), and checked in to assure everything was going well. The local lakes, made for excellent ice fishing - even in the midst of the annual Winter Festival. Would stay here again.

Siblings Reunion

A 4 night gathering of siblings who have not seen each other since 2019 could not have chosen a better location than Red Brick Farm. While the weather did not cooperate, our host John and the Red Brick Farm were there to turn a raining weekend into an event 9 siblings ,cousins meeting for the 1st time, a father's day spectacular and one 12 yo birthday party are never going to forget. The farm and our host went through an extraordinary effort to make sure our stay was filled with comfort and entertainment. I have traveled extensively in my life. I never thought i would write that my VRBO in Spirit Lake, Iowa was my most memorable. Our family thanks you, John. Shane and Mary.

Ideal space for family gatherings

This property is pure Iowa. A spacious farmhouse on 10 acres of a beautifully maintained homestead, with extra beds in the repurposed buildings for additional guests, ensures everyone space to relax and enjoy the natural settings. The owner has provided lots of amusements - ping-pong, basketball, slip n’slide - to entertain kids of all ages. Reading a book on the front porch in the morning quiet is also enjoyable. My family loves this place, even more after our second stay. Highly recommend to urban dwellers looking to experience peaceful, country living.

Looking Forward to Return

It is a wonderful property, particularly well suited for families with a wide age range. Our group included a three year old and 2 great grandparents in their 80's. There was plenty for us all to enjoy and good space for interaction among age groups. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short because of a family problem that had absolutely nothing to do with the property in any way. In fact, we would all love to return if an opportunity to do so comes up in the future.
