There is something magical about the sound of the waves splashing against the sand. The way the melodic sound takes your mind to the most restful space. There is a peace that the ocean breeze brings with it, and that is just what our humble beach cabin provides, while the high-speed internet lets you stay connected to friends and family.

Just steps from the water, located on a large and lush private property sits this hidden little gem we are thrilled to share.

The space -
This listing is for the top-floor studio of the property. There are two units on separate floors and with separate entrances. Each unit includes its own private bathroom and simple but complete kitchens.

The studio overlooks the private yard area and offers our guests a great place to relax and unwind. Walk down to the beach and to town, or simply enjoy the lovely balcony and of course, the view.

Exactly as advertised

Head for puerto viejo de talamanca take a left towards banana azul and your there. Susana will make arrangements with you for your keys to the place easy as that. The yard leads right to the beach can’t beat it. Great place, great people and excellent food. Would highly recommend

Great location near beach, could use some TLC, and re- modeling. Great sounds from the Caribbean.

We lived off grid in Alaska over 8 yrs so very familiar with small and essential! This property could use some TLC, think if your going to rent then things like window screens should be in order! Was a rash of crime going on in that very location so put us in difficult position but secured with all iron windows and doors!

Great Rustic Stay

On the beach

When it was quiet the sound of the waves was very relaxing. Our host met us at the property to let us in and go over small details of the home. She was extremely helpful and friendly.

"Romantische Hütte"

Ein sehr einfach eingerichtetes Obergeschoss eines Ferienhauses direkt am Meeresstrand in wundervoller Lage. Die Wohnungs-Kücheneinrichtung ist recht spartanisch und die Schlösser gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ansonsten ein wundervolles Erlebnis - man schläft mit offener Front zum Meer beim Klang des Ozeans ein! Richtig romantisch ... Problemlose Kommunikation mit der Wohnungsbetreuung. Danke!

Stung by Cleaning Costs

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I thought it was going to be affordable when I saw the price per night advertised but when my bill came through it was very high due to high cleaning costs. It was only an upstairs, only me. I enjoyed meeting Suzanne; she was excellent, caring, and attentive. The sea was lovely; very rustic and relaxing. I wish I would have known about Punta Uva nearby.

Perfect beach bungalow

Love the property with direct at access to Playa Negra. A short walk or drive or bicycle ride to the town of Puerto Viejo, If you wanna blow dryer in an iron this is not the place for you, but if you like to surf and relax and enjoy yourself this is perfect and the host is great

Lots of fun living in this "tree house" setting for a month.

If you want to experience Costa Rica like a local, then stay here. If you want modern conveniences, then stay at a resort. Perfect location to walk to town. Charming with an amazing view. Susanna is always on call to help you when you need it. Would definitely stay there again.

Puerto Viejo Beach House

Wonderful location. Lulled to sleep each night with the sound of the waves. Stayed in the upstairs unit. Small, but comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Great location plan on sharing property with other families

This was our first trip to costa rica. Months in advance i reserved this property and paid the first amount due. I tried to change the dates but the owner was unable to change them in his end. Keep in mind, the owner would only respond to messages after I contacted vrbo directly. They left him messages until I received the response. * vrbo was great in this regard* during the process of changing dates the owner canceled different payments and added other fees that did not make any sense. Close to our trip (when you normally get the email with door codes or instructions) my email was completely blank of info. Hours of phone calls were spent back and forth with vrbo and trying to contact owner to see if property was good to go. Another note of interest was this was originally published as being a single family house. No mention of living quarters upstairs, the amount matches the lower living area. We arrived at property to find another family with little kids and a baby. (They were great ,we had no issues with them.) Their original house had plumbing issues so they were moved into our reservation. Property manager arrived and gave us the keys and showed us around the upstairs room, at this point we realize how lucky we are in the states. We have hidden wiring inside the walls free of electrical tape on joints. Our plumbing can accept toilet paper, and is nicely hidden inside walls. All of this is highly visible.. I guess we are snobs because we dont like seeing the kitchen through the walls while using the toilet that's under the sink. After walking through the property, we logged into vrbo to find the ad was completely changed (good thing for screen shots prior) This studio was very much like camping for us, although our camper has much more to offer, like pots and pans.. silverware... a comfy bed ect..(we wont go into the bed at this point, let's just say the wife was in agony for the trip after trying to sleep on it) We immediately tried to book other accommodations when we arrived but everything local was booked. All in all the area is beautiful, beach was great. Locals are friendly (learn some Spanish, people say no big deal.... no it is.. learn some spanish lol) we looked up Spanish words the entire trip. The whole thing was a learning process for us. We will never go back. Avoid at all costs

Great trip

We spent 5 weeks in this incredible place. The space is small, but quite comfortable. We cooked most of our meals. The ocean surf is right outside. The views are awesome. The Ocean breeze kept the space comfortable even on the hottest days. No A/C required. Susana the local caretaker is wonderful, has lots of suggestions on local foods and fruits. She can pretty much answer any question on the area. She always responded quickly to any message we sent. It's been two weeks since we left and we still miss the sound of the surf as we're falling asleep and waking up. We stayed in March because that is normally the dry month. However it was dry in Jan and Feb so it rained quite a bit. In fact at one point it rained 8 days straight. We are sun/beach people, so that was disheartening. But the location, food and great people made it an awesome trip.We'd highly recommend this space. Bill & Marie

El sitio es hermoso y muy bien ubicado. Quizás hace falta un mejor mantenimiento a la casa.

Pasamos unos días maravillosos en la casa de Pedro. El entorno del mar, de la playa y el pueblo, Puerto Viejo, conforman un conjunto muy atractivo y pintoresco. Por otra parte la anfitriona, Susana, nos ayudó con amabilidad y calidez. Lo recomiendo de manera muy especial.

Great

Fantastic spot. The view of the ocean is wonderful. The upper place where stayed was a small studio with a nice large deck for relaxing. Quiet and a nice walk into town. There’s a small convenient store down the road and a couple of restaurants in the hotels near by that where good. Highly recommend.

Great getaway

I really enjoyed staying at Pedro’s place. The view of the ocean, the beach, and the palm trees from the terrace is superb. Waking up every morning to the sound of waves was great. The village is around 10-15 min walk away - nice stroll on the beach. I had great time staying at Pedro’s.

Perfect escape from it all!!

This was truly paradise! It was a very comfortable studio for 2 with a extremely cozy hammock on the balcony to enjoy the view. We got to start every morning with a swim in the ocean which was pretty much in our back yard. Most of the time, there was no one on beach with us! We were close enough to town (Puerto Viejo and Cahuita) to get groceries, go souvenir shopping, go exploring, and get delicious local eats but far enough to really just escape from it all. Some days we were perfectly happy just to be home. Bathroom was a bit awkward but it worked. Also I have to give a shout out to Susanna who was very sweet and accommodating, though what more can you ask for in a place like this. Highly recommend this place for two! We're already thinking of when we can come back to this place. This trip was definitely a very memorable one :) Thank you Predro and Susanna!!

Awesome vacation getaway!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Pedro's Place in early May and thoroughly enjoyed this home! You cannot beat waking up to great views of the beach and the surrounding greenery. The property has tons of fruit trees and coconuts for drinking. We enjoyed coffee, breakfast, and coconuts every morning on the nice porch. We also enjoyed sitting in the hammocks on the porch at night. Susana, the property manager, provided us with lots of local sites to see and we had great experiences at the nearby parks, botanical gardens, and chocolate tour. The house is in a secluded area, but also a short bike ride to the town for food and fun. We rented bikes the whole time we were there and did not have any issues. I would highly recommend this spot!

Great place to stay

Pedro's place was a great place to stay. It's in the middle of a lot of fun places to visit (Cahuita and Manzanillo parks were great, lots of wildlife there) and is very close to town. There are beautiful views from the porch and the sound of waves to lull you to sleep at night. The house is next to a garden on one side and is pretty secluded but still easy to get to. There are also some coconut trees in the yard that make delicious drinks. Susana the property manager was very nice and has excellent knowledge and tips about the area. My girlfriend and I rented bikes which made it super easy to get around and explore the area. Would recommend.
