Come to relax in a serene setting, surrounded by hundred- year-old live oaks. Jean Lafitte properties follow along the Bayou Barataria which is rich with the best, freshest seafood. There are nearby bayous and lakes for fishing and water sports. Local adventures include swamp tours, chartered fishing excursions, nature trails, and nearby boat launch access. The house, located just 25 miles from the New Orleans French Quarter and Bourbon Street is a perfect getaway for festivals and Mardi Gras.

The house is newly built in 2020 with modern appliances and furnishings. The space will accommodate up to 6 guests; the master has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has one bunk bed and a full-size bed. The house is raised, and below there is an outdoor kitchen with a fryer, outdoor grill, boiling pot for seafood boils, and a wash area. There are also sitting areas under the house overlooking the oaks for outdoor relaxing. The driveway has enough room to park a boat and trailer, and a public launch is only 2 miles away. The kitchen is fully stocked with all essential cooking ware for you to enjoy home cooked meals during your stay. Don't want to cook, no problem, the property is minutes away from several outstanding local restaurants. All other living essentials are already awaiting you to make this not only an enjoyable, but hassle-free stay and get the most out of your time with family and friends.

Excellent stay

My family loved the Oak house. We stayed a few days before going on a cruise and it was very relaxing. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Cute Louisiana Stop

My family and I spent two nights in this amazing home on our trip home. The house is perfect, everything was so nice and the beds were so comfortable! We planned to spend a day in NOLA however we ended up coming back early to relax. We will definitely be back here to stay longer!

Clean and comfortable stay

We booked the house to visit family for Christmas and didn’t use it for much more than having a place to shower and sleep. That said, the house is fully stocked with utensils, cookware and dinnerware for those that want to prepare meals. The house is very nice inside and out and we had a comfortable stay. We would definitely book again.

Decent house

Was a nice house. They only gave us one trash bag for 4 days which was very difficult to deal with. There is also no broom or anything to clean with so you have to wipe floors with your hand if you drop anything, or need to clean. There was paper towels provided. There is no hot tub, I thought I read that in the listing there was one. Very nice bathtub.

House was nice and just far enough from New Orleans that you don’t have to deal with traffic but close enough you can go into the city for the day. Would definitely recommend here.

Near all the airboat rides!

Our stay at the house on stilts was pretty awesome! Very clean and new, very pretty location. Saw lots of gators got to do lots of fishing all nearby and airboat rides!!

House had everything we needed. We have been in town to fish with Big Dog Fishing Charters and they recommended your place for Us to stay. Very nice, super clean and all we could ask for. Thank you and your town for showing us such a great time!

Good Times!

This property is ideal for two couples or a couple and kids. Very nice and everything looked new, and 1st class. Not too far from the city and great places to eat. We will definitely check availability next time we come fishing.

Clean, great location

Above expectations! The ladies were very impressed especially after me telling about prior trips where I stayed in “fishing camps.” Swamp tour and my fishing guide were both within 10 minutes of the house. Location about 1/2 hour of Jackson Square. I highly recommend this place.

Just right!

A buddy and me stayed here while fishing in Barataria. It was close to our guide. We could find what we needed at the Twedelde store. Great restaurants within 25 minutes. Only complaint is the front bedroom is a little noisy from the road but a good sleep machine solved the issue.
