Charming Historical Home

Loved our stay for the most part. The home is beautiful and very cozy. Neighborhood is very quiet and close to restaurants and shopping. Just a couple of cons would be the cleanliness of the bathroom cabinets in master. The outside pool area does need some attention due to overgrown foliage and not very put together for entertaining, which was a little disappointing because it could be quite beautiful if someone took a little time to give it some TLC. One other mishap was my daughter had encountered fleas jumping on her from 2 of the rooms. One room was the downstairs living room by the TV and another was upstairs guest bedroom next to the bathroom. We were not sure whether or not this could have been on our clothing from outside, or because this is a pet friendly home maybe the prior Visitors had a pet that may have had them.

Perfect family gathering place

We all flew in from 4 different states. We booked for nine and then a niece showed up as a surprise. Plenty of room, bedding, towels, etc! The kitchen was large enough space for hanging out while cooking. A few of us had work zoom mtgs at different times and the wifi was accommodating. The house was clean and comfortable. Great location.

Easter Family Getaway

Incredibly beautiful home, warm, and welcoming, The property manager(s) were very responsive when we could not get the guest bathroom lights on. The surrounding area is beautiful with historic type homes. There is malls and shopping near by including the town center. The urgent care was excellent as we needed it at the end. Overall recommend highly this property.

Great stay

This is a cozy home in the exact location we were looking for in Ocala. It is walking distance to the Ocala square but its a bit far so we typically drove. The description of the one bedroom was a bit confusing on the listing, with it stating 2 twin beds. It was actually a twin bed and a trundle bed which made us have to change our plans with how we divided up the bedrooms. We ended up having one less person come than planned so we made it work but if it was our original group size it would have been an issue for us. We would rent this house again.

Downtown Ocala

Another great stay at this home. It is one of our favorite spots in Ocala. A recent update I noticed was that the back fence line has been replaced with new wooden privacy fence. We easily walked to the farmers market Saturday morning from this location. The neighbors and neighborhood were quiet, no disturbances at all. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Overall Excellent Experience

Stellar communication with property owner throughout booking & stay! Effective & detailed communication. Easy checkin & out. Simple house rules. Very accommodating. Adorable decor. Updated, Victorian chic home. Spacious, great layout. Stocked extremely well. Very thoughtful details throughout. Pool is great, landscaping & pool area while we visited needed maintenance attention meaning; landscaping clean up. Possibly secure new landscaper with higher level of integrity. The home inside clean & organized however the cleaning company missing moldings & window sinks. Cleaning company missing these details. We would definitely stay again. We recommend to other families. If you have a student at UF this is also a great option, better restaurants than Gainesville & many family fun activities in Ocala. A great change outside of the swamp. Thank you for the outstandingly hospitality!

Another great trip to this property. It is always a perfect fit for a family when we are working in Ocala. After we finish our workday, we are within walking distance of downtown Ocala. Clean, spacious property, great communication, and the perfect location to everything we like to do. Thank for another great visit. We look forward to staying in the future.

Historic Downtown

We enjoyed our second visit to this property, it was lovely. The house is located with in walking distance of downtown and there is a farmer’s market on Saturday mornings. The weather was beautiful, so we were able to enjoy the back yard and pool everyday. A very nice home in a very convenient location.we look for and to visiting again.

Good spot for a big group

We thought it would be fun to put my family and my brothers family together when we attended a family wedding in Ocala. We had 5 “kids” in their twenties along with their 4 parents, 9 adults in all. The house accommodated us all with enough beds though the setup was a little awkward. The kitchen lacked enough cups and glasses for 9 and some of the towels were a bit raggedy, otherwise it was well equipped and attractive. One of the showers wasn’t working. However, we all had a blast being together in one big house - so much more fun than being in a hotel. The adult kids could walk to the town square which has a vibrant nightlife. The pool area was nice once we cleaned the pool. The host responded quickly to our questions. Overall, I would recommend this house for a big group.

Historic Neighborhood pet friendly

I loved this little house. It is completely redone and the kitchen is fabulous. The neighborhood was a delight to walk my two dogs through. There are so many beautiful, historic houses in this area. While the pool is fab, it was too chilly to use it. There's a cute little patio, as well as a grassy area for the dogs. A word of caution though. While the yard is securely fenced in the front and the sides, the back fence has a few boards out. Someone did put things in front of the missing boards to secure the dogs but I would not leave your dogs unattended out there because they could find an escape route. These folks have taken meticulous care of this property. I just don't think they've gotten to the back fence yet. Thumbs up and a five-star rating!

December in Ocala

The house is beautifully updated, very clean and comfortable. The property manager was very friendly and attentive, and the check in process was easy. The home is nestled in the historic district & we were happy to be so close to downtown because light up Ocala in December is wonderful. There are previous property reviews that say the driveway was unusable, please make note the driveway is newly updated with pavers and easily accommodated our large and small SUVs. There are previous reviews about the noisy neighbors, which yes that is accurate, no fault of the property management of this home. Make note Ocala historic district is very strict(and helpful) about their noise ordinance. We hope to return soon and hopefully for a longer visit. A wonderful home and close to all of our favorite Ocala restaurants. Thank you for making the home available for others to enjoy.

Historic District Getaway

The house was very clean inside. It was old and remodeled and you could tell that the owners took care to ensure it looks nice inside. We came for a horse show (only 15 min from WEC) and so we needed a place to accommodate my elderly mother, our small dog, and my son. It has a nice-sized pool. There were 3 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms but enough room for 6-8 people. The host had coffee supplies, dishes, linens - it was all nice and freshly kept. The refrigerator was clean and all appliances. No bugs, no smells -- all fresh. The sofa in the downstairs living room wasn't the most comfortable but if you're using the house as a staging area to explore it's great. The beds were comfortable. They just needed to mow the grass/take better care of the external landscaping and then fix the driveway - we had to park on the street. It had Wifi and Satellite cable so my son was happy and he was fascinated by the Alexa machine. LOL

Would Not Stay Again

Unfortunately our stay at this lovely home seemed doomed from the beginning. I will state, the homeowner was responsive, but unfortunately our needs were not taken care of in order to fully enjoy our stay. The location itself is decent, but seems to be just outside of the nicer parts of historic Ocala. In face, the neighbors across the street had their television blaring 24/7, with no blinds on their home, so everything they were doing inside could be seen all hours of the day. The next door neighbors blared rap music from sun up until well after sun-down. We couldn't even have conversations outside due to the loudness of their music. The apartments diagonally across from the house had a lot of traffic coming and going, which made the street pretty loud at times. Upon arrival, we found out we couldn't park in the driveway due to it needing to be repaired. This meant parking on the tiny street. The pool was very dirty upon arrival, but homeowner had it cleaned the next day for us. The back fencing was in very bad shape, with huge pieces completely missing making it unsafe for out dogs. Homeowner did have maintenance guy fix the next day. There was zero extra blankets in the home. Kitchen had bare minimums. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Dining room only seats 4 at a very small round table. Living room has small dorm sized couch but only sits 3 people, with no other seating. Our family of 6 was unable to actually sit together in the living room or dining room. Most issues were minor and not a huge deal but adding them all up just made things worse. The biggest issue we had was that the garbage disposal in the kitchen did not work, and apparently last guest had left food down inside and were unable to remove it since disposal wasn't working. This ended up causing small flies to breed in the drain so upon arrival, the kitchen was full of flies. We reached out to landlord who said someone would be there within an hour to fix. We left and got our groceries for the weekend and hurried back to wait for maintenance man, who never showed up. So we lost the entire Thursday evening waiting for someone that never came. Friday morning we were told someone would be over, but unfortunately nobody ever came. We lost our entire day waiting for the plumber instead of enjoying vacation. We were unable to cook in the kitchen because of the flies. Our grocery money was wasted and extra expense eating out. We left that Monday, and never saw the plumber.
