A peaceful getaway
This is a lovely peaceful gĂźte with pretty mountain views. A well-equipped property, with nice furnishings and a good kitchen. Comfy beds and adequate heating for those chilly mountain evenings! You definitely need a car here, placed as it is, but itâs great for hiking and a 30 minute drive from Aix les Bains and 50 minutes from Annecy. Small gripes: Only one mirror (in the bathroom) in a property which sleeps 6. It would benefit from a mirror in the bedroom. Annoying automatic lights in the stair area and WC. Perhaps itâs a safety feature, but itâs too bright in the middle of the night for WC visits. Pellet stove is cosy, but very noisy so itâs hard to watch TV when itâs on. The main annoyance was the fact that the listing did not specify linens and cleaning were not included. The gĂźte is managed by a company, so the fault probably lies with them and not the host with this omission. We arrived without bedding or towels, which the host kindly provided when it was mentioned, but I had carefully checked the gite listing on the Vrbo app prior where there was no mention of this. Additionally, come check out time the host âremindedâ us we had to clean the property as it wasnât included. Nowhere up until that point had there been mention of this need - not on the terms and conditions in the listing, nor at time of booking. I donât mind cleaning not being included but feel this should be made clear during the booking process.
