Cozy Chalet in Ocean Shores located within steps from the beach

Gray's Chalet Village offers a convenient location and a cozy atmosphere. This recently remodeled 1960's chalet is the perfect beach getaway! Walk to the beach on beautiful sunny days and enjoy watching the deer graze in the grass right outside your window!

We won't be available on-site but we check our messages frequently and will be available to communicate during your stay if any issues arise or if you have questions.

Gray's Chalet Village is in the heart of Ocean Shores, surrounded by other lodging businesses, and is within walking distance to the beach, shopping (including a supermarket if you need to stock your fridge), bike rentals, and restaurants. Additionally, it is just a one-minute drive from the main beach access point.

During your stay, if you listen closely you'll be able to hear the waves inside from the chalet.

Enjoy the wildlife! There's a high deer population in Ocean Shores and you're likely to experience several sightings during your stay... sometimes even right outside your window!

This unit is part of a 1960's chalet-style duplex. Guests have a private entrance and full private use of their chalet. Unit access is provided via digital key code, so you can directly access it upon your check-in time.

Guests receive one parking space directly next to the entrance to their unit.

Expecting visitors?
Additional visitor parking is located on the south side of the property (near the Grey Gull). Please ensure that your visitors do not park in spaces designated for neighboring units.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT
Please be aware that the main sleeping area is on the 2nd level.

This chalet sleeps up to 4 individuals and is part of a vacation rental duplex in a chalet-style building. The chalet includes 1 queen bed in an open-concept loft at the top of the stairs. Additionally, the couch on the first floor is a sofa queen bed.

FIREPLACE NOTE
The fireplace is not functioning, but we have electric candles (with a remote) that provide a nice ambiance.

KITCHEN
The Chalet includes a full-size range, dinnerware, pots and pans, microwave, and full-size refrigerator + freezer. Guests are required to wash all dishes they use, as there is not a dishwasher.

DUPLEX
Please note that these are duplexes, so the walls are shared with one other guest.

PUBLIC TRANSIT
Grays Harbor Transit serves the Ocean Shores community. For information on routes and pick-up, times visit the Grays Harbor Transit website.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
Our check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and our check-out is at 11:00 AM. We have strict cleaning protocols for our cleaning crew and cannot be flexible with early check-in or late check-outs.

NO PARTIES
We asks that guests do not have parties and keep noise levels to a minimum out of consideration for the neighbors. We strive to provide a peaceful getaway near the beach. Quiet hours after 10 pm.

FIRES
We currently do not allow bonfires on the property.

SAND
We also suggest removing shoes at the door after a visit to the beach to avoid excessive sand in the chalet.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING
Electric car charging on the property is not permissible as it could provide a safety hazard. The electrical systems are not set up for car charging. The closest EV car charging 3.9 miles away at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino.

DAMAGE
Any damage caused during your stay will be charged to you. Smoking of any kind (including vaping) is not allowed inside the chalets. A $250 fee will be applied if a guest smokes indoors.

Loved my stay! Super clean, lots of light, and love the loft bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked and had every thing I needed to cook meals. I will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Easy walk to the beach, comfy bed, didn’t hear neighbors or street traffic. Enjoyed and would stay again and again! Only stayed for one night but would stay longer next time. Thankfully the place came equipped with everything we needed down to the little details including wine bottle openers and a couple games. 10/10

Great Place

The Chalet was affordable and it was the perfect size for my partner and I and we had plenty of room. We had all the basics we needed and the property was located close to a lot of local hot spots.

The property was nice with a reasonable walk to the beach. The carpets could have used a longer vacuum session (we don't have fur babies, so we noticed). The sheets were clean and the bath towels were a delight.

The overall experience was fair.We were contacted by the owner via a text giving instructions to open the upstairs sliding door and the downstairs window to help cool the chalet. However, when we went to open the balcony sliding door off the bedroom, there was no screen on the door. We contacted the owner and they said they would get back to us but NEVER did! So in order to cool the bedroom down we did open the patio door and it did help. But at night while sleeping the door had to be closed for safety.The bedroom was VERY hot and uncomfortable to sleep.Other items to note:1) The carpet in the bedroom was dirty and smelled. (of pet urine) And with the increased temperature in the bedroom, the odor was very pungent.2) We were only supplied two wash cloths for a three night stay.3) Only one garbage bag for a three night stay.4) When we walked on the wood flooring downstairs in our socks, our socks would get very dirty.5) The only window that opened in the living was broken. The track was coming loose off the right hand side of the window. Making it very difficult to open and close.The outside pictures of the community that is featured on the VRBO are not accurate.We had a very disappointing experience.

What a Cute, Clean, Comfortable Place

Very clean, cute, even had some dog items for my pup and some snacks for adults! Everything was cozy! Only thing that can be tough is not being able to leave your dog alone if its safe (as we went to Quinalt for dinner/casino). Very close to beach, a nice short walk! Great amenities to clean your dog up after the beach as well :)

Great Location - Easy access

This is a quaint chalet that is on the main drag in Ocean Shores. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes—ability to walk to small shops in Ocean Shores. Bring mosquito repellant to walk to the beach during twilight hours.

Cute place

We enjoyed our weekend and first trip to Ocean Shores. On the map it looks like this is an oceanfront property but it is not and that was disappointing. A couple of extra space heaters will also help in the winter months

The Wonder-filled Cottage by the Beach

The cottage provided everything that was needed for a pleasurable stay. My dogs were happy! My friend felt like your cottage was the perfect thank-you-gift for dog-sitting my 'friends'. 😊. Loved the bed! Slept so well! The ocean hummed lovely songs during my stay. I am grateful.

Ocean getaway

Great property and pet friendly - the big windows still made it feel bright on a pretty stormy gloomy day. The closest trail was pretty overgrown so we chose to drive down to the beach which was only about 2 minutes. The stove works great - and there were lots of pans to use for reheating and cooking - bring cooking spray for the frypans - eggs pretty hard to get off the surface with just butter. Bedding was awesome and the furniture is in great condition - appreciated the pet blanket and dog bowl.

Pet friendly property in Ocean Shores. It would be best to stay with only 1 or 2 guests and a pet. The property was okay with cleanliness but it could definitely use a deep clean and an actual bath mat as the one provided was dingy. It was quite warm inside when we entered and no AC but cools fairly quickly with the windows open and the fans that are provided going. No beach view and the balcony looks out on the other units so you all face eachother. This property is on the main drag, close to the beach access and attractions. The access to the beach from the property is through a tunnel of foliage and quite a hike through the dunes. I'd recommend driving out on the beach instead.

Property Not Suitable for Seniors

The property was clean and well appointed. However it was not suitable for my wife and I, both seniors... stairs to loft bedroom with queen bed..bathroom downstairs off kitchen...that did not work for us. DId not see a direct beach access and although "pet friendly" it was worrisome to us that the front door was too close to the main street.. OK for younger couple.. not seniors.

It is stated in the property description that it is a loft style chalet with the bedroom area on the second floor. The beach access is near the Gray Gull to the south of the property. Walk west from unit 1, then take a left after the shed. Stay to the right of the foliage and you will encounter a path. Take a right on the path, and that path will lead to the beach. It’s about a seven minute walk. You’ll know you’re in the right place if you see a foliage tunnel. The front door is not right at/on the Main Street, but it is in close proximity. We did not hear from this guest during the stay, but if they were not happy with the chalet upon visiting we would've been happy to find an acceptable middle ground.

Fortunately the property maintenance man was working when we arrived because the code lock for the entry did not work. That part never did resolve and we were given a key for our stay.We walked in to very strong smell of air/fabric freshener which disguised the odor of the place until it wore off. Hard floor felt sticky (probably from air freshener used in excess) and the carpet needs a thorough cleaning. Vacuuming it would be a good start. I wouldn’t mind a later check in if it meant a cleaner room. Towels were very dingy and I washed dishes before I used them. Will not return here. BUT, the maintenance man (young, beard and glasses) gets a 5star.

Cute place but not prepped

We found the property to be cute and cozy. But it had not been properly cleaned/prepped prior to our arrival. HOUSEKEEPING: large cobwebs hanging above the bed and from the bedside lamps. Heavy dust coating in the bedside fan. NO body wash in the shower body wash container. Ran out of shampoo after only one shower (we were there two nights). The TV remote control did not work (We went to the store and bought batteries to replace dead ones). Big brown stain in center of bed pillow (to be fair, it did seem like the pillowcase had been washed, but such an obvious stain isn’t something you want to see on your vacation on your pillow). I took photos of all of these things in case management wants to have them to let their housekeeping know. Besides those unattractive qualities, we found the layout and the overall setup to be very comfy, and we had a good time overall.

Cozy & Lovely Place

This place is so dog friendly, thoughtful and welcoming. We found snacks for us in the kitchen, and even dog treats, blankets and toys for our puppy. It was such a nice surprise! We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas weekend. Beach access was great as well. Truly enjoyed how clean, minimal and comfy it was. Thanks again!
