Vermilion on the Lake

We had a short stay to visit family in Lorain. It was ashort drive to Cedar Point. We enjoyed the cottage.

Great host who was easy to contact and responsive to questions. This was a great midway point between Cedar Point Amusement Park and Cleveland. Vermillion is a quaint town with a gorgeous Main Street beach for early morning strolls and watching the sunsets. If you are looking for a completely updated house, this may not be the place for you. BUT the space was well cared for, clean, and perfect for family meals, and game nights at the kitchen table. Beds were great, and the comfy couch perfect for movies and relaxing. Kitchen had all we needed. I would stay here again! Cheers!

Wonderful place for family to gather!

Beautiful location and setting, fantastic space for family to gather! We were in town for my daughter's college graduation. The house was a perfect hangout for between activities gathering. Enormous kitchen VERY WELL stocked with anything you could possibly need. Lovely view from the front porch, wonderful backyard for the doggo to run around. Everything was just perfect!

A few things:We had to hose down the front and back before we could enjoy being outside. The grill and the oven were very dirty. We only could use the grill after we cleaned and bought foil to cover the grate. There was only one extra roll of toilet paper in one bathroom, so we had to buy some. Overall, cleaning should be improved to make the guest experience more memorable. We most likely will find a different location next year.

Yes, spider webs are at their absolute peak along Lake Erie in September, sorry you had to experience that. Most quest do clean the grill after use, I will get the cleaners to check the oven. Thank you for your feedback.

Comfortable, needing maintenance

Well stocked with everything one might need, including coffee and tea.Comfortable beds and furniture.Front porch is nice for sitting to watch the sunset through the trees. Limited views of the Lake.Great air conditioning.Lots of tvs.A few maintenance issues:Front screen had us locked out at first (was repaired)Slow drain made the accessible shower unusableBack sliding door and screen were hard to open and closeTerrible odor coming from kitchen drainsStairs to the upper level have a top step that is higher than the rest (trip hazard)Upstairs rooms are under slanted roof ( this short adult female bumped her head more than once)

This house was just what we were looking for and exactly as advertised. It was as clean and well-appointed as expected for the price, with more bathrooms and a bigger kitchen/dining area than the last place we rented in the area. The upstairs room was perfect for kids, and we really appreciated how many TVs there are throughout the house - no compromising on what to watch at night! The location is good; what it lacks in fancy neighborhood is offset by proximity to the beach. I wish we had had more time to enjoy the lake! I'm most of all grateful for the pet-friendliness. Our dog is easy and well-behaved, and it's so nice to find a place that welcomes him 3. We didn't need much from the hosts, but they were responsive when we checked in. Thank you!
