DiPeso house is always wonderful. It is well stocked, clean, has plenty of space, wood for the wood-burning fireplace, and just outstanding views. Angie will be there to meet you and explain the (few) house rules, and guests have access to the trails and museum. There is also always a thoughtfully designed 'welcome box' with a few gifts. Really a peaceful, wonderful place to stay.

Our physical contact person, Jessica, is surely an asset for this property. The bathroom supplies were plentiful and loved the heat lamp! Very well supplied kitchen tools and tableware. The house is top notch for a getaway from it all stay — not really all that far away from shopping, but sure felt like it. Really nice place for family gathering. The big living room was perfect for our late Christmas gifts with grandchildren.

AZ beauty

This is a spacious and comfortable in the midst of the Amerind property in unique Texas Canyon. We enjoyed the isolation and the incredible beauty all around us as well as the comfort of the house and great places to explore including the Amerind Museum.

Long Weekend

Spent a long weekend enjoying the quiet, landscape, night skies, and wildlife. Also stopped in next door at the Triangle Ranch for a trail ride on horses.

Long/Reinert Holiday

This is a unique, quietly beautiful place!

This is a relaxing, clean, roomy place with excellent Christmas decorations. It is cozy and has an additional wood-burning fireplace. All appliances are in good working order and furniture and beds are quite comfortable.

Unique and Wonderful

This is really an exceptional accommodation - a nature preserve combined with an excellent art gallery and cultural museum. House is large, comfortable, and very private. Highly recommended.

Great location, interesting museum, great hiking on the grounds and in the area.nice gift box with maps books and things to do in the area.everything was as expected.a herd of mule deer joined us for breakfast the morning we left.

Dragoon Review

The Di Peso House, Dragoon, AZ, was a perfect location for us which comprised four couples. We enjoyed the house, the quiet environment, and the walks around the property. The house was well equipped for cooking, dining, and relaxing.

Top property, location and hospitality

Really enjoyed the classy taste of the southwest in the property, home and the isolated location. A terrific museum is also on the property but about 1/2 mile away (on a private drive) from your home. The hosts were wonderful ... available if needed but your privacy is complete unless you chose to contact them. Great welcoming gift too... couldn't have been happier on all fronts.

A Magical Place

Our stay at the DiPeso house was a magical experience. Remotely nestled within the Amerind Foundation property, we hiked among the boulders of Texas Canyon and relaxed by the lovely property pond. Our group of four all had their own bed and bath and the kitchen was huge and well-equipped for all the communal cooking we did. As a mid-century house, it was very clean but still funky enough to retain it's historic charm. The gift box was a lovely extra too. We loved our stay and plan to come back again soon.

Amazing get away

We were a girl trip of 5 that were totally captivated by the beauty of the location and the comfort of our home. There was room for each of us to have a private space but large enough for us to gather together. We ate all our meals at the house which was easy to do in the spacious well equipped kitchen. Most impressive were the outside patios. No matter what time of day, there was a spot to sit with shade. We appreciated Angie being sure we’ got settled in comfortably. It was truly our favorite get away .

Fantastic Property

We were visiting the area for my father-in-laws 80th birthday and this property was large enough for our family of 7 to comfortably stay in! The house had everything we needed and beds were comfy. On our final morning, we had a herd of deer visit the pond in the backyard! Unfortunately timing didn’t work out for us to visit the museum during our stay. The only feedback I have is about the queen room. The bed in the that room faces east so you get the sun through the window that only has sheer curtains.

Hiker’s paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amerind. Beautiful location tucked in amongst the boulders.We loved the history of the area as well as the museum and art gallery. The house is located within an hour of the Chiricahua National Monument and Cochise stronghold.The house was built in the 50’s so understandably a bit worn relative to flooring and baths but has been well taken care of and is obviously loved.Angie was an incredible host and easy to communicate with. She is passionate about Amerind and the local area and it definitely showed. The gift basket she left for us went above and beyond and was a nice touch. We would not hesitate in booking the house again.

A hidden Southwest treasure

We enjoyed such a memorable, three-generation family gathering at the Fran and Charles Di Peso house on the campus of the Amerind Foundation. The architectural design of this spacious home in its magical Dragoon mountain desert setting cannot be surpassed. The place offers both modern updates and restored mid-century furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. Our host, Angie Adams, made sure we had everything we needed, including passes to the museum and art gallery and a generous welcoming gift box. There are numerous well-designed trails and astonishing rock vistas to enjoy right outside the door, not to mention the excursions to Cochise Stronghold or Chiricahua National Monument -- entirely different settings -- within an easy drive. We deeply appreciate that these architectural and natural treasures have been lovingly preserved, and placed in their historical and anthropological context.

A hidden gem

This place is comfortable, well-equipped, and set in a stunning and peaceful landscape. There are various seating locations outdoors, all looking out over different aspects of the granite-rock formations on the Amerind property. You have absolute privacy, as there are no other buildings in sight, and yet it is only a short walk to the Amerind museum, guest shop, and various trailheads. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, which we very much enjoyed; wood is provided. The kitchen is very well stocked--quality pots, pans, knives, silverware, cooking implements, etc. (One word of warning--there doesn't seem to be ice or ice trays, so if you want ice, bring it.) Beds were very comfortable, and rooms are as advertised (one thought if you are bringing small children is that there are NUMEROUS doors leading to the outside, few with deadbolts (just locks on the knobs)--something to consider if you have a curious toddler. There is also a pool with water in the back.) You are within striking distance of Kartchner Caverns, Whitewater Draw (sandhill crane migrations), and Cochise Stronghold. Be sure to visit Mi Casa in Benson for lunch or dinner. Really can't say enough about this place--we emerged from our long weekend rested and relaxed.

Amazing house , unbelievable setting.

This past two weeks staying on the Amerind Museum Campus in the beautiful , beyond comfortable , well appointed Depeso House has almost left me speechless. The geology and geography combined with the desert flora and fauna is definately a sensory overload. This spacious home (it’s huge) with endless amenities like a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, living room, family room with smart tv and incredible view of rocks and your very own bird pond , great hiking plus a museum to visit and see wonderful interesting objects and exhibits to stimulate the brain….well I could go on and on. This location is a great base footprint day trips in this southeast corner of Az. Or just stay on the property and reset and relax. We did a lot of both. I urge you if you come here bring an20 pound bag of bird seed. Feeding the birds every day out by the pond was the best no money fun. What the birds didn’t eat during the day the Havalinas came to clean up at dusk. Best of all about this experience was the superb and prompt response time and communication with Angie the property manager. She is so sweet and nice and interesting person. I truly felt like I have made a new friend. This experience encompassed so many elements and don’t feel like I really covered everything . If you truly want a unique desert experience this would be a great way to get started. The Wal Mart in Benson was a great place to shop they have a great selection of everything plus that great bag of economy bird seed…about 8.00 for 20 lbs. we hope to return here sooner than later.

Former college friends reunion

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious house. The rock formations are stunning and beautiful. The house was clean and the amenities were convenient. The price was reasonable. We enjoyed walking to the Amarind Museum - what a treasure!-and also walking to the Bird Pond. Our host was responsive to our inquiries and needs.
