Detailed with stunning decor and comfortable amenities our cottage is perfect for a family vacation or a couples beach getaway.

This 2 story home features 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a loft with bunks, and a sleeper sofa that will accommodate 8 people. The open concept kitchen is fully equipped, with upgraded appliances, and bar seating for four. The dining table seats 6 and the living room seats 7 comfortably. The main floor and upper level feature a walkout deck with patio furniture. The cottage also features an outdoor shower.

Located steps from the beautiful zero entry saltwater lagoon pool and boardwalk to Alabama's sugar sand beach. You can also enjoy a fire pit on those chilly nights.

Our Happy Place

This was our second stay at the cottage and our family had a wonderful time! The house is so lovely and convenient. It functions perfectly for our family of 4. The boys loved the bunk beds! We love the community and the super easy short walk to the beach. Very safe area. The house is clean and has everything you need! Such a great set up. Our host is totally on top of it. Her response time is unmatched. It’s really a gem of a place! We love it here!

Family Vacay

We all absolutely enjoyed staying at Sugar Dunes. We loved everything about it- easy check in, cleanliness, location, easy access to beach and easy to deal with hosts. We’re looking forward to trying to book Sugar Dunes next summer.

Nice home, but noisy and service items were like 2 star hotel

The traffic noise was very loud and there wasn't any white noise devices so we had to go buy something from WalMart to drown out the noise so we could sleep. There are no curtains, only blinds that don't block the light, so you can't sleep in on vacation because of the light coming in very early. The towels were dollar store towels and would not even dry you off. We paid a lot of money for luxury - they did not take any pride in the experience. The cookware was trash and toxic. The TVs in the bedrooms did not have range to work off the router and no one emailed us back to let us know how to get the TVs to work (we emailed twice). They expect a lot of you to take out the trash, strip the sheets (which were also dollar store sheets and blankets that slipped off the bed because of the poor quality). The furniture was stained and looked dirty. Not worth what they are charging. Sorry to say. Also, the beach area is groomed better in other places we have stayed in Orange Beach. We were pretty bummed out for the money we paid.

Family Time

Overall, this property was very nice, exactly as pictured on the VRBO site. We were a little disappointed in a few things that didn’t majorly effect our stay. One thing was that none of the tvs worked in any of the rooms except the living room. We were also disappointed to learn after arriving that the beach access within the neighborhood was closed for repairs during our beach days. We could still access the beach, but having stayed in Cottages at Romar before, we booked this location because of its access to the beach. Again, our stay was wonderful and the home is beautiful and we still enjoyed our stay!

Great Place!

We have stayed at the Cottages at Romar, but this is our first time staying at this cottage. It was exactly like pictures and great layout. Location is great! Kitchen is not fully stocked with cooking supplies- so prepare for that (no baking sheets, one skillet, and limited utensils). We would definitely stay again!

Family beach trip

The cottage was clean, cute, comfortable, had great air conditioning, terrific location, and the owners were wonderful. It was a perfect place for our family of 5 adults to stay. We will stay there again!

Summer Vaca With Friends

Cottages at Romar are always a favorite of ours. This was the first time staying in this particular home. Beautifully decorated and a perfect location. The beds were so comfortable. I would highly recommend taking extra household items such as toilet paper, paper towel, trash bags, and dish soap as there are not any extra. Other than that, everything is set up for a perfect stay.

Incredible location!

We loved staying here & have already booked for next year. Perfect location - easy pool & beach access. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood in the evening - felt safe with the gate and how well lit it was. Cindy was great!

Great time at Sugar Dunes

We stayed for a week June 24-July 1. Four adults and two kids. This property was perfect for us, was in great shape and very clean, had all the necessary amenities if you wanted to cook at the house, and is in a great location just a short walk on the boardwalk to the beach or to the community pool. Cathy was a great host and was quick to respond to any questions, and check in was a breeze. Overall a fabulous stay and will book again if it fits our needs at that time.

Repeat Stay

This was our third time staying at this property and we've always been completely satisfied! Great communication with property manager about check-in and even some local information throughout out stay. The size of this home is perfect for our family of 5, and the location is great with easy ability to walk to the beach and close access to the neighborhood pool. My kids ask to stay at this same place year after year.

Again!

This is our second annual visit. If ever available, this property will be our first choice ... maybe only choice? It's perfect for our family. The only issue for this stay were the two items left behind by previous visitors .. leads me to figure the cleaning crew may not be as caring as the property owners.

Superb Location

Our stay was fantastic! The house had all the starting essentials needed and the location was perfect. We had some water activities scheduled and it was a very short drive to the docks. Access to the beach was a brief walk, so we were able to see the sunrises and sunsets on the beach. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to stay here again the next time we are in town.

Great family and friend home setting

This stay was fantastic. We grilled, cooked in, was cozy on rainy days, close to restaurants for going out, directly across the road from a package store and seafood to go, and wonderful spot for grocery delivery service. The pool was great for families and the beach was close walk. We will stay again!

Found Our Happy Place!

If I could give this place and host 10 stars I would! The house is exactly as pictured (actually, photos don’t do it justice) and have every amenity a family would need. Cindy has thought of everything! Not only was she the most organized, responsive and gracious host, but the house is spectacular. Clean, luxurious but comfortable, the ultimate beach experience. Our kids fell in love with the loft and the bunk beds. The beds are some of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in and that includes 5 star resorts! Rooms are nicely sized with plenty of storage, and the bathrooms are clean and modern. The 2 porches are so awesome to have! I can go on and on about this place. It’s our new happy place and we will be back! The walk is 3 minutes (if that) to the beach. The community is amazing and there are multiple rinse stations directly off the beach and in the pool area. Convenience!!! This place has it all! I truly can’t brag about it enough. Thanks, Cindy! Our family enjoyed your happy place and we can’t wait to return! Thanks for the hospitality and the amazing home away from home!
