Nice roomy home in a cozy setting

The street had a nice feel to it, the house was clean and functional, and the stretch of beach nearest to it was lovely. It had everything we needed. A lovely stay.

Worst Stay and Bad Customer Service

This property had the makings of a nice place, good layout&location & new sofas, but it was by far the worst stay I've ever had&would drive me back to using hotels if that had been an option this weekend. We arrived on Fri &after falling asleep, the smoke detector battery started going dead &began beeping. It kept us up ALL night long. I spent the night with 1 pillow under &1 on top of my head to keep the noise out. I tried calling for assistance in the morning, but was unable to get anyone on the phone or even leave a voicemail. Meanwhile, every mattress in the place was horrible. Think summer camp cots with sheets that were so scratchy that even Walmart could make them more comfortable. There is a street light that shines into one of the BR's,1 of the eyes on the stove did not work ,& 1 of the bathroom sinks was slow draining. When I finally was able to get the property mgr on the phone, she informed me that they did not have anybody to fix any of these things over the weekend but that she could be out in an hour to replace the battery in the smoke detector. We discussed the possibility of 1night's refund but was told she'd have to discuss it with the owner and she'd call me back. She did not so I asked to see her when I dropped the keys off on our way out of town. I was told she was unavailable & would call me later which she did not. I called again 2 days later & was told that a $50 refund was all she could give. My advice to anyone is to stay away from this place!

Great Vacation!

House looked updated from our visit last year! Very clean. new gas grill! New tvs and living room furniture! Big upgrade! Lot's of shade and breaze for the screened porch and to hang out downstairs under the house. All TVs are streaming, so you can watch whatever you like! Beach is a quick walk or easier golf cart ride. to the public access. Great house and vacation!

Newly updated & clean

We spent most of our time on the porch. So peaceful! The house had everything & I could tell it’s been recently update. The kitchen was better stocked than any other I’ve ever stayed at Edisto (been coming for 30yrs) New furniture & very clean!

We loved Edisto and Botany Bay. The house was so perfect. The kitchen was awesome!! We plan to stay again and we hope to stay in this house again!!! Everything was clean, cozy and welcoming. LOVED IT!!!!

Awesome stay!

Everything about this rental was amazing! If I had to comment on one thing it would be that the couch and loveseat are past their prime. Very hard for senior citizens to sit in!

Review

House is outdated. Leaking in Kitchen through ceiling fan with water on floor. Ceiling in one bedroom had water damage and part of ceiling fell during our stay. One fan on porch never worked. Toilet seats not actually secured on toilets. Bugs in all rooms. All concerns brought to local VACASA.

Nice, clean, and quiet

Very peaceful home about a block and half away from the beach. The layout was nice for a big family. Having a private bathroom attached to both of the spare bedrooms made it nice for everyone to have their own space. We stayed in October, the beaches were nice and not busy at all. Edisto was an adorable little beach town to visit!

The property was perfect for what our family needed; 100 yards from the beach, four bed rooms, and the house had everything we needed. The entire rents process was also very easy.

"Caution!"

Honestly, the house itself was fine. The location was great. Easy walk to the beach. Could have been a little cleaner, especially the loveseat! I would, however, encourage to the owner of the property to have a discussion with the rental company regarding the condition the house was left in from the prior occupants. For example: - Caution Tape on the left hand side of the deck at the bottom of the steps, and at the top, but the rental company said "don't worry about the caution tape - everything is fine." Should you have removed it, maybe?? - Apparently 3 toilets had been replaced some time prior to our stay, but all 3 huge boxes were still left under the house where we parked. The 3 old toilets were still under the house as well, but a little more hidden around the back. - A lid to the tank of a toilet was left on the top railings of the deck. We measured the rain with it. :) Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location

Our favorite part was the location of this property. It is just a short walk to the beach access on a very quiet street. The split floorplan was a plus for us because our teens could stay on their end of the house and watch movies late and we could go on to bed. There was amble parking. The place is a little dated and two of the bathrooms are super small, but we weren't looking for a luxurious spa. We simply wanted to be at a quiet beach vacation to read and relax away from work.

Disappointed

There were dirty brown handprints on every wall in the house. There was sand, hair, and a seed in the bathtub. There were hairs on one of the pillowcases. There is a layer of dust on the top of the bathtub and on the mirrors. A phone call would not have changed since they can’t deep clean while we are here. The house is in need of a major deep clean including the walls and a new cleaning service. The dishwasher is a safety hazard. It slams to the floor. I got my foot smashed even when I was standing to the side. The bottom rack throws dishes out since the door is broken. The ice maker is a fire hazard since it heats up and obviously does not work right. The porch railing has several broken places. We would not bring our kids here.
