Modern corner studio in Waikiki. No resort fee

Newly renovated, clean and spacious studio in Waikiki. Unit is on 10th floor of the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel/Condo building and comes with queen bed, kitchenette, full bath and amazing ocean, canal, diamond head and mountain range views.

Walk to Waikiki beach, Waikiki strip, convention center, restaurants, shops and many other Waikiki attractions in this newly renovated, clean and spacious unit.

The building offers a pool, Jacuzzi, large sun deck, barbecue grills, gym (one time $5 per guest usage fee), coin laundry, common area wifi, a bar and café.

Attached covered parking available at rate of $40/per 24 hours with in & out privileges. They take cash only. If you are staying past 5 days, please ask me about cheaper parking options.

Luggage storage service provided by our security office on the lower lobby level for $5 per bag.

There is 24 hour building security.

The view includes city, canal, mountain range and glimpses of the ocean.

Smart cars rental is on the premises and other car, scooter and bike rentals companies are nearby within few minutes walking distance.

Unit comes with wifi internet, cable TV, window air conditioning, microwave, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels (bath and beach), coffee maker

Perfect for what we needed

Overall, a good stay. The place was cleaned when we arrived. The blinds, as stated previously in other reviews, are pretty thin and do allow quite a bit of light in. However, we were still up pretty early each day so not too much of an impact. The air conditioning wasn’t always the best and had to keep it around 62 degrees to really feel like it was working. It doesn’t really reach the bathroom, just impacts the main room. Enjoyed having the coffee maker and fridge in there. The TV didn’t have the best connection and was pretty slow but we had an iPad so it worked out for us. All in all, very easy instructions to get into the place and it was perfect for the two of us, especially since we spent majority of our time outside and exploring. The pool and hot tub at the hotel is great and the coffee shop down in the lobby is absolutely delicious.

2 day stay

This was not the best VRBO experience I’v ever had
 The overall vibe of the hotel/condo complex is old and fixed up with a new coat of paint. The unit itself is clean but run down (a big part of the ceiling is peeling). I also got the vibe that this owner has multiple units and doesn’t have everything organized. I was proactive and asked the day before check in what we needed to do and I was told “you’ll get an email tomorrow”. We never got an email. I had to ask again at 4:30pm on check in today because my husband and I were trying to get into the unit to change for dinner. There wasn’t an info sheet/booklet to instruct guests how to find the pool or anything in the complex. The VRBO description also says “coin laundry” but it’s not in the condo complex. We texted the unit owner asking him where it was, he never answered, and we had to ask one of the vendors outside the complex if they knew. Turns out it is in the 7/11 behind the complex. We never got an email with check out instructions, so we texted him for those too and finally the morning of our check out he responded “what unit are you in? Throw the trash out down the hall”. Maybe the owner was just having a bad week this week, but regardless we won’t be staying here again.

Great for price

If you are planning on doing a lot of activities and waking up early, it’s probably the best bang for your buck. The blinds on the windows do not block the light at all which seems like a quick fix but seeing other reviews seems like it’s been an issue for a while now. Also, one of the three windows doesn’t have blinds at all so lacked some privacy. Overall great for the price and would recommend if you are planning to wake up at sunrise every day

This property is a renovation in progress. Tiles were missing, the shower tap was detached from the wall, the bathroom door didn't fit, painting was messy etc etc. There were many new cupboards but nowhere to hang clothes. The fridge looked like it hadn't been defrosted in months. The window coverings were missing on the central window and didn't fit on the others. I have provided feedback privately but no response.

Honolulu Apartment

This is a good place to stay if you plan to explore the island all day and plan to crash out at the end of the day. The apartment was great for what we needed.

Great value

Great value for the location. Room was clean, about a 10 minute walk to the beach. My only complaint is some windows were missing blinds and some of the blinds didn't reach the bottom of the window so you feel a bit exposed in the room. The AC also didn't work that well. For the price though it was good.

Like being in a fishbowl! Surrounded by other buildings and not all windows had curtains or full coverage of window - even the bathroom! Room AC didnt cool it off well (was too small). Bed was comfy and rental car at a very reasonable price was perk. It advertises as a studio, so I expected a kitchen, but only had microwave & coffee maker. I recommend for only one person, as no privacy at all - shower not enclosed and has a clear barrier next to toilet - so not comfy for two people sharing. Customer service was promply answered and made vheck in/out very smooth. Beach is a bit of a walk to get to, but its a nice time. Closer to shopping. Quiet at night for Waikiki.

Pleasant stay

Place is clean and fully renovated with the view on the pool . Quiet and close to shops . The building has also a place to store your luggage if you arrive before checking in.

Close to the beach

It’s got 4 walls and a shower. Could use a couple chairs and maybe a table. It’s a short jaunt to the beach.

Amazing views, good location, good communication with owner, responded in reasonable time

There are Beautiful views here from 10th fl of Diamond head, Alawai andthe ocean in distance. Listing is new and has some kinks to work out.The draws were dusty and got on my clothes, floors dirty/ dusty but broom available to sweep, blinds in the bathroom dusty/dirty, a/c wasnt working at first , not cooling room and blinds were down. Their is one window that doesn't have a blind but it wouldnt make that much of a difference. I made changes and the owner made changes and it was better but dried bugs and? were flying out of it the first 2 days. He said he had just cleaned it so Im not sure why this was happening. No chairs to sit in or place to eat except on bed. Key card deactivates so be careful or you will spend alot of time up and down with security, toilet clogged multiple times so had to walk to another hotel and find a bathroom, the people that work the front desk for the hotel were rude and kept dismissing me bec I wasn't part of the hotel. The pool and jacuzzi was closed down for the 3 days I was there, the hotel had no awareness of this or any info even though there were signs in the elevators on the floors outside the elevators. One women was kind, and did tell me where the hotel restroom was so I didn't have to walk 10 min to use the restroom. Owner came to check it out but it was still not working. Sent plumber the last day and let us use the next door apt that was open but it was alot of effort and inconveniences for a short time , and we were not in the room much. So when I was ... it seemed it was dealing with security and calling / texting the owner and dealing with front desk, plunging toilets, sweeping, and rude people. Did make suggestions to owner about adding a few things. He said he would work on them. Could use some finishing touches- like place to hang towels to dry, hairdryer, some hooks to hang clothes ( there is no closet), small bedside table? Has a fridge, microwave, extension cord, dishes and housewares which was great for leftovers. Some fixtures in bathroom need to be attached more permanently. There is a great coffee shop in the lobby , coffee was Yumm, and i saw people coming in for malasadas that sell out every day, and other pastries. The coffee shop closed at noon and owner open his pizza place across the way in the evenings. 7 Eleven around the corner for water, soft serve , sushi , salads and anything you need. Parking available at 35$ for day or $10 for 2 hours, and 6$ hr after that as of my visit.
