Blue Ridge Mtn Log Cabin 4 bedroom + Treehouse Bird Watchers
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by an award-winning Virginia Century Farm of apples, peaches, and cherries lies the Cabin at the Orchard. We have been granting families and students with day trips to experience what farming entails for over 100 years, and now offer a serene and scenic getaway in the middle of the great outdoors.
Our first log was selected in 1987, from pine trees on our family property in the Appalachian Mountains, and over the years, tree by tree was added until the frame bestowed the historic style of white chinked logs in 1991. We furnished the house with objects from the past as well as the present, to link all the history of the land we built our cabin on, and pay homage to all the people, past and present, that have influenced it over the years. The dĂ©cor is largely influenced by a desire to âgather togetherâ â with plenty of sitting areas for conversations, laughs, movie nights, and campfires â this place is the perfect spot to reunite families and simply enjoy each otherâs company.
Bird watchers, be prepared to see over 50 different species in one day, as wildlife can be seen best from Grannyâs Perch. Keep an eye out for anything that may pop in to say hello, such as a rabbit, groundhog, deer, or even the occasional black bear. Here you have the chance to immerse yourself in the world around you. Along with the cabin, Grannyâs Perch offers a view rivaled by no others. Grab a glass of wine and have a romantic dinner while watching the sun set over the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We have hiking trails and family games for those more active souls, and plenty to enjoy as you stay here at the Cabin at the Orchard.

Randy Myers Àr vÀrd
The owners of Cabin at the Orchard, Kristin and Randy Myers. Kristin grew up as a farm girl living in the foothills of Virginia. She has fond memories of running around barefoot, blowing dandelion seeds, and eating fresh fruit off the trees. I followed my heart across the country, a transport from the Pacific Northwest to Southwest Virginia, to "see about a girl" and marry Kristin, becoming a part of the homestead. We have 4 children, a love for travel, and find joy in giving other families special moments and memories like our family has on the farm.
