Privacy on the Schoodic Peninsula, & close enough to enjoy Acadia National Park
The best of both worlds! Planning on visiting Acadia National Park & looking for peace & quiet at the end of your day? Pond's Edge Camp completed renovations & expansion of our original 45 year old cabin in 2021 & are offering it for rent for the first time. Our chef's kitchen, spacious bathroom with shower, plus a custom designed outdoor shower are just a few of the many amenities we provide to our guests.
The original structure was built by a local craftsman who used handmade wooden pegs instead of nails or screws & no design plan other than the one in his head, when building the cabin.
Swimming & kayaking in the clear waters of Flanders Pond, with hands down the best view of Schoodic Mountain is one of the treats that canât be adequately explained until you enjoy it yourself. Enjoy our natural granite fire pit while toasting your marshmallows.
Our rare, large one acre lakefront property offers all of the privacy you might require after navigating the crowds of Acadia National Park. Try & visit Schoodic Point & Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge as well.
If you are interested in hiking less crowded trails, we are surrounded by almost 14,000 acres of protected lands & are minutes from the Sunrise Trail, Donnell Pond Public Reserve Lands, Schoodic & Black Mountain trails which offer stunning views of Mount Desert Island & Cadillac Mountain, Frenchmen Bay Conservancy trails, & much more! If you hike Schoodic Mountain, it offers amazing views of Flanders Pond & you can try & spot camp from up top!
Watch loons cavort & listen to their haunting calls. Bald eagles are frequent visitors. Stargazing is absolutely stunning.
We are not able to offer WiFi at this time, but most visitors can access the internet via their cell phones. We have a TV with built in DVD player & sound bar, along with a great library of movies & books for your enjoyment. We also have a great selection of board games!
Our well water has high iron content, so we provide a 5 gallon water dispenser. Minimum 5 night rental.

Pond's Edge Camp has been in John's family for 40 years. It has been a dream of ours to renovate & add a bedroom/bath addition for years. We finally achieved our goal in 2020. John & Nicole are happy to invite you to our piece of paradise!

Sullivan is located along the Schoodic By Way & is located centrally in Down East Maine. Easy access to Ellsworth & Millbridge makes Sullivan the perfect location to call your headquarters while visiting Acadia National Park.

If you are interested in hiking & want to avoid the crowds, you have found the right place! Just minutes from camp you will find 14,000 acres of protected land & trails. This includes Schoodic Mountain, which offers unparalleled views of Mount Desert Island & Cadillac Mountain, Black Mountain, Donnell Pond & Schoodic Beach, as well as the Sunrise Trail.
For fisherman, the pond has bass, trout, pickerel, & perch. Be sure you obtain your fishing license online before arriving!
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer internet access at this time, however most of our guests are able to access the internet via their cell phones. We have a tv with built in DVD player & a library with tons of movies. We also have a selection of paperback books & board games for your enjoyment.
Our camp is meant for relaxation. If you are looking to work while on vacation, this is not the camp for you.
