Wonderful vacation

House was wonderful. Frank was very helpful and friendly. It's good to know the pool isn't heated, but the hot tub was great and the pool area was a nice place to hang out. Very fun town.

Great visit!

We had a fabulous time at Casita Pescado! We would definitely come back! The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and we used it (and the grill) a lot. The pool is also a great perk. So much fun!

Beautiful spot

We loved our stay here - the house is large with a perfectly appointed kitchen, outdoor shower, and hammock on the rooftop deck! The pool area is amazing - not huge but perfect for a few people. We used the hot tub in the evening and watched the stars. There were other people staying in the casitas near us but we never saw them. It was very private and relaxing. Great spot!

Great property, great house

This place is fantastic. There are (2) 2 bedroom casitas, very nice, with large rooms, clean furniture, great beds. Drinking water at the house. Then there is a large pool and jacuzzi area that is common to both houses. Overall its great, Id highly recommend it.

Paradise

Loved our second stay at Casa Pescado! As always, well appointed, comfortable and quiet. Great ocean sunsets from the upper deck. Couldn't ask for a better property manager than Franko. He's the best! Very responsive and accommodating.

Amazing Personal Resort

CallyCanto Casitas is a wonderful little gem in beautiful Todos Santos. The casitas are immaculatlely clean, very well appointed, and beautifully landscaped. Each house can easily host a family of 6 with room to spare. The pool area alone is reason enough for us to return! The property has everything: pool, hot tub, fire pit, grilling area, even a brick pizza oven (!). We could have stayed the entire visit right on the property. Frank was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Plus, he's originally from New Jersey like us, so you can't beat that! Book your stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Relaxing vacation days

We had some great vacation days at this property. Franko was very kind and attentive to questions throughout the stay. Nice pool area. Quiet place. And a great beach with very few people. We have a grownup teenager who is a fine swimmer, so the sea was fine for us, but it wouldn’t be suitable for a family with smaller kids.

Las Playitas

Todos Santos is a wonderful, magical town and the location of this property is ideal to experience all that this Pueblo Magico has to offer. Everything was comfortable and the pool under the moonlight quite memorable! We will be back

A fabulous stay

We stayed here for five nights because of it’s proximity to town (5 minutes) and decent surf spots. The pool was great, and the rooms were comfy. Perfect for a family stay.

Wish we could've stayed longer

This property was well-located, within a 9 minute walk to the beach, and with gorgeous ocean views from the 2nd story and the pool. We could see whales from the upper deck, balcony and the lovely outdoor shower. The pool was large and both it and the hot tub were well-maintained and great for entertaining - grill, bar,blender, cooktop, bathroom... The property management was friendly quick to respond and set us up with a wonderful massage therapist. The property could use a couple of updates....maybe newer bedding and tile repairs in the kitchen, but everything was very clean. Overall, this property was comfortable and fit our needs quite nicely.

Beautiful Place

We have stayed here for the past 10 days with our family of 4, great location and beautiful home. Woke up to whales every morning! We wanted something that was as close to living here as possible while still having some luxuries. Exactly what we got!

Great stay at Calycanto Casitas

We loved our stay at Calycanto Casitas, the location was wonderful and the property was fabulous. Laurie the property manager welcomed us and gave us great recommendations for places to eat. The upstairs balcony was an enjoyable way to spend evening with drinks/snacks; the view of the water was spectacular. Would reserve again when we're in Todos Santos.

The best!

We spent three wonderful weeks here this winter. Calycanto is a fabulous property a short walk from the beach and a short ride from town. Laurie, the property manager, welcomed us with open arms and was attentive to our every need although there was little to need as our casita was magical. The outdoor shower in the master is to die for. We spent many nights on the second floor "drinking porch" watching the sun go down. We would highly recommend. Tons of Gringos in Todos Santos area so Spanish fluency is unnecessary. Great Resturants abound. A must go.

Felt like home for a week

We stayed in Casita Tortuga - which has a master bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and AMAZING outdoor shower. Second bedroom downstairs has 2 twin beds. The house is beautiful and comfortable. We really loved the indoor/outdoor feel of it. Located just a short (5 ish minute) drive north of Todos Santos. It is even a shorter drive to the sweet surf spot, La Pastora. 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but it is not recommended as a swimming beach because of currents. About a 15 minute drive to the swim and beginner surf spot, Los Cerritos. Kathy, the caretaker, is very kind and informative. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, blender, etc. There are several grocery stores nearby. The upper deck was great for reading in the hammock or a morning yoga sesh. The ground floor wrap around patio had a nice big dining table and a couple of really comfortable lounge chairs. WiFi was great. TV with a few English speaking stations. It was really nice to show up and they had stocked the house with 2 large bottles of drinking water. The surrounding area was really quiet - we rarely saw or heard anyone. The weather/temperature was perfect. It was hot a few days, but mostly warm (80s) with a little wind here and there to cool things off. Cool at night - enough for a hoodie. Only turned on AC one of the warmer nights but had to turn off in the middle of the night as it cooled off.

Todos Santos Villa Calycanto Casitas

Rave reviews for this incredible rental property! Beautiful and well maintained villa 5 minutes by car from DT Todos Santos and a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can walk for hours. Five women on a girls get-a-way enjoyed a week of watching stunning sunsets over the ocean from the upstairs deck, eating at incredible restaurants, shopping at local markets and preparing our own meals and visiting local attractions in the area. The property is every bit as beautiful as pictured. We especially appreciated the flexibility and helpfulness of both the owner and the property manager. Would love to return with the family!

Everything claimed it would be....and more!

We are frequent visitors to Todos Santos but this was our first stay at Calycanto Casitas. Dealing with Jim (the owner) via telephone and e-mail to make arrangements was very positive. He was helpful and made the process very easy. The property itself was above and beyond the description. A pleasant surprise to find an outdoor private shower off the upstairs master suite where we stayed. Enjoyed daily private outdoor hot showers watching the whales go buy. Nice way to start a morning! House is fully furnished and very comfortable with three outdoor areas to relax. Two furnished patios downstairs and one up (with hammock and table/chairs). The property is nicely landscaped and the house fully stocked with items needed to prepare and enjoy meals you might want to prepare at home. Breakfast bar for meals and cocktails. Full dining table on the front patio. Big comfy lounge couch for evening reading, etc. Beautifully appointed architectural touches throughout the home. Conveniently located to town, restaurants, groceries and all Mexican or Gringo needs. Wifi worked very well. No report on satellite TV and I-pod playback system as we didn't use. No hesitation considering this property when we return next year. Keep this one on your very short list!

Great place all around!

I really enjoyed my stay in Todos Santos, and the Calycalnto casitas was a great venue from which to appreciate all that baja has to offer... I look forward to my next visit!

CAL Y CANTO CASITAS ARE THE BEST WAY TO EXPERIENCE TODOS SANTOS

The CalyCanto Casitas are the ideal place to experience Todos Santos. It doesn't feel like you're in a vacation rental, even though there are some very nice ones available; it feels like you're being hosted in someone's beloved home, and you are. The owners' great love and respect for the region is everywhere apparent: in the beautifully simple, strong furniture Mexico is famous for, in the equally and deservedly famous saltillo and talavera tiles that serve as the flooring both inside and outside, in the abundance of architectural details, the rich colors, in the charm of the bathroom and the outdoor shower overlooking the ocean, in the outside wood shutters on every window, including the sliding glass door leading onto the terrace, for maximum comfort and control. Cozy inside, expansive outside, I alternate between sleeping in a big soft queen bed in the beautiful bedroom or out on the roomy terrace under the stars. The nighttime sky itself is a marvel; without the compromise of city lighting the heavens are brilliantly alive. . . .You can almost always hear the surf, night and day, and many a night i've made my way in the moonlight the short distance to the sea. Jim, one of the owners, is wonderful to deal with. From the very beginning of our acquaintance, it was clear there was an unusually open and friendly person on the other end of the email. Throughout all my dealings with him to get the various details worked out, as I am a long-term tenant (something I highly recommend), he has consistently treated me as a friend. He is as special as the town and the casitas are. The casitas themselves are perfectly located about 2 and 1/2 miles from the town proper. I love being in Todos Santos with all it's gently bubbling life, and I love being outside of it in the deep silence and peace of the country. Getting into town is a 5 minute or so car ride. I highly recommend hitchhiking; I'm seldom on the road more than 5 minutes before a car comes along and through this method I've come to know many of the locals, as well as the large community of passionately devoted outsiders. To be here in Todos Santos is to live largely outside of time, to live largely inside the abudance of nature, and to dwell with people with whom one feels an effortless sense of easy community. It has been fantastic to be here in the "off season:" It is hot but not as hot as many American cities, and between ocean breezes and palapa fans, i am never uncomfortable.

CALYCANTO RIVALS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD !!

CalyCanto Casitas are every bit what has been written about them! There is no question that the amazing beaches the weather, the proximity to Todos Santos and many great restaurants, fresh fruit and vegie markets, some of the friendliest people in the world and lots of peace and quiet are what makes this such a unique vacation destination! I would however like to give you a unique perspective on both Todos Santos and CalyCanto! At 64 years of age and from Canada originally, I have been retired for almost 20 years and have lived in over 60 countries over these last 20 years! From Africa, to Asia, the US, the Caribbean Hawaii several times, Australia and New Zealand and many years in numerous countries in Europe! I have rented more properties around the globe than most people could ever imagine (every month and every year for almost 20 years as I have no primary residence anywhere on this planet)! Given this rather unique perspective, I can say without hesitation that our last four months at CalyCanto have rivaled anywhere else I have stayed in the world!! If there is anyone qualified to make such a statement, I feel I am! While there is so much already said about CalCanto and Todos Santos on other posts, one can only appreciate just how good this place is by being here! We have all been disappointed numerous times by being fooled by all the pretty pictures and wonderful accolades about a property! NOT this time. CanyCanto is everything that is said about it and then some! So much so that we are returning to CalyCanto for the winter and are planning to make Todos Santos home in 2011! If you truly wish to experience everything you read about Todos Santos and CalyCanto , then I highly recommend you come and see it for yourself The management and US ownership guarantees that added peace of mind that one comes to expect from a property of this quality! - Pat Walsh (July 2010)
