Mer om Villa Charlotte: Villa Charlotte är en liten gated bostad i ett lugnt område i Cannes som heter Oxford, känd för sina Belle Epoque villor och andra högkvalitativa egenskaper. Fastigheten är uppkallad efter drottning Victoria barnbarn, född Charlotte of Prussia. Hon och make Prince Bernhard från Saxe-Meiningen var tidigare ägare, och Charlotte skapade härliga trädgårdar på sina grunder. Mer sistnämnd ägde fastigheten ett hotell i mitten av århundradet. Detta togs ner till sina betongväggar och byggdes 2008 till att bli dagens Villa Charlotte.

Villa Charlotte ligger 15 eller 20 minuters promenad från Cannes centrum. På vägen är tågstationen, med lätt tillgång österut till Antibes, Nice, Monaco och Italien. Aix-en-Provence och Marseille är väster. Bussar till centrum är bara några steg från Villa Charlotte. Butiker, restauranger, livsmedelsbutiker och ett boulangerie finns i närheten. Havet ligger 800 meter bort. Nice flygplats ligger 20 kilometer.

Great location, just a walk away from Cannes Film festivities

I was looking for something close to Cannes Film fest stuff, but not wallet breaking, and this place was great. Walk was nice, if need be the bus is close as well. Great space to rest between screening, would definitely try to book again.

Hervorragende und sehr persönliche Betreuung

Sehr nette und liebenswerte Vermieter, die mich hervorragend per Mail auf den Besuch vorbereitet haben. Die professionelle Verwalterin wartete auf mich am Tag der Ankunft. Zu meiner Freude konnte ich nach meiner Ankunft in Cannes sofort einchecken und musste nicht bis zum späten Nachmittag warten. Alles war perfekt! Ich empfehle diese Unterkunft.

Wunderschönes Appartment mit tollem Pool

Das Appartment von Jill und Steve in der Villa Charlotte ist wirklich wunderschön und sehr gut, mit hochwertigen Möbeln und Geräten, ausgestattet. Das Appartment hat zwei große Terassen mit Gartenmöbeln. Der Poolbereich ist großzügig gestaltet und zum Entspannen bestens geeignet, zumal man tagsüber fast immer den Pool alleine genießen kann. Die Appartment liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend und ist ca. 2,5 km vom Cannes-Zentrum entfernt. Trotzdem sind die Wege zum Bäcker oder zu Lebensmittelgeschäften relativ kurz. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können das Appartment jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Bei Problemen hilft Sandrine immer gerne weiter und auch Jill und Steve sind sehr nette Vermieter die jederzeit erreichbar waren, obwohl in Amerika lebend, und Probleme sehr schnell und unkompliziert gelöst haben.

Loved our stay in Cannes

Really loved our stay in Cannes. It was 25 min walk down to the beach and a 10min walk to the nearest supermarket for Essentials. The pool area is gorgeous and so quiet and it was a huge bonus having the car parking space as we could explore other areas of the south of France. The apartment was very clean and had all the amenities needed for our 10 night stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Comfortable, elegant, relaxing!

Jill’s apartment is very nice and well located (far from the noisy city centre but at the same time very in a very convenient area). The house is new, fully furnished and with two beautiful terraces where to have breakfast or chill out under the sunshine. Communication was extremely easy and Sandrine, property’s manager, was always available and very helpful. Thanks again!

Relaxing

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Charlotte, the grounds and pool were relaxing and weather was very warm so it was great to cool down in the pool. It's a quiet location but easy to walk to local shops and Boulangerie and public transport is nearby, the car parking space is useful if you have a car. The apartment was clean comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, we had a small issue with no broadband during our stay. it's worth checking in advance that its operational if this is important during your visit. I would recommend this property for a truly relaxing experience and memorable holiday in Cannes.

Perfect for Us

We had the most wonderful time in Cannes and the surrounding areas. The Villa was absolutely gorgeous and the apartment was more than we could have imagined. Our stay was quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Having internet access allowed us to work when needed. The patios were great for morning breakfast/coffee and evening wine. Conveniently located near the downtown, but just enough distance to provide peace and quiet after a long day. Perfect place to stay when visiting Cannes, we will be back!

Villa Charlotte

Villa Charlotte is the perfect antidote to the buzz, hype and glam of Cannes. It's a peaceful retreat as a result of it not being designed as holiday accommodation. This is a gated community where the vast majority of the residents are professional people who are at work during the day. This results in total lack of irritating noise and almost exclusive use of the pool and garden areas. The apartment has absolutely everything required for a quality holiday and I congratulate the Turners on their good taste.

Wondeful Property

Villa Charlotte is an excellent choice for a stay in Cannes.The apartment is as advertised and then some. If you do not have a car the bus is literally a 3 minute walk from the apartment and is only 1.5 Euro into the Cannes center. Everything worked and the internet was fast and efficient. I recommend this apartment.

Great apartment

This lovely apartment was exactly what was portrayed on the website. It was clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. We were there around 2 weeks and were very comfortable. The owners were very attentive and eager for us to have a nice stay. The location can't be beat, if you want to get away from the center of town. There is a bus stop right at the end of the street, which we used a lot to get there. The walk is nice, though, too. We had a little trouble with the foreign appliances, but figured it out in time. The washer dryer is located under the sink in cabinet, and it took us a little time to find. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

A Terrific Summer

I’d first like to say that I agree with all of the other reviews here and rather than repeat their points, I’ll try to add some additional info. My wife and I spent 12 weeks at Villa Charlotte in May, June, and July of 2012. We found it to be both a great place to relax at on its own and also a good base for exploring the surrounding areas. I also found it to be an easy place to work from full time using the wifi provided. We took day trips to Ile Sainte Marguerite and St. Tropez by ferry, Grasse and all parts of Cannes by bus, and Monaco, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Nice, Eze, St. Paul de Vence, Haute de Cagnes, Biot, Antibes, and more by train and/or bus when necessary. Most can easily be reached by car as well if you have one, but we were able to make it to all without one. This will require a decent bit of walking unless you can time the buses just right from the apartment or train station, but we welcomed the exercise to walk into town to the train station or port, (or just to the beach in Cannes). We rented a car only once during our stay, and used that opportunity to explore further into Provence, with stops at Fontaine de Vaucluse, St. Remy, Les Baux, Arles, Avignon, and more. The only other extended trip we took was over to Corsica (Calvi a must visit!) by way of a car ferry from Nice. If you have at least 3-4 days to spend away from Cannes, I’d highly recommend either trip, but any of the other day trips mentioned can be enjoyed in just a half a day, so 2 or 3 or more can be accomplished in one full day with proper planning. Also some quick restaurant recommendations for Cannes – The Cocoon Lounge and Le Square on the nearby Carnot (main street leading into Cannes) are not all that special foodwise, but the staff at both is extremely friendly and they are great places to grab a café or a drink and chat with locals. Further up the hill away toward Le Cannet is Bistro des Anges, which is well worth a try if you want to treat yourself. La Guerite on Ile Sainte Marguerite is also a great treat, but you can also just pick up a couple of baguette sandwiches and find yourself a private cove for a much cheaper option to enjoy the nearby island. La Boheme in downtown Cannes was our other go to. Not much really spectacular here, but we found all of the basics executed here very well at relatively modest prices compared to the nearby restaurants that could charge you twice as much for half the quality. All in all it was an amazing time!

Long weekend Cannes

No need to repeat the other reviews because they tell the truth. The apartment is even better than the pictures show, amazing pool, secluded parking, fenced property, airco, 2 terraces, clean, Wi-Fi. We prefer a shower over a bath(but thats's personal), missed a second lounge chair on the terrace(guess who's always in it), we advice a car, we used to go in a hotel in Cannes but considering do it this way again. Lovely, friendly, helpfull lady who welcomes you at arrival. The owners: same story. We will recomment this to friends.

Our Stay during the Cannes Film Festival

My wife and I feel like we had our second honeymoon at Villa Charlotte. Even though I was there for work, every night I would come home would feel like we were in a romantic secluded french villa. The condo is absolutely amazing!! It was clean (recently remodeled), convenient, and away from the madness of Cannes. It was everything we had hoped for and more. We had great romantic dinners on the private patio and then then coffee out there in the mornings. The gardens are incredible, the layout of the unit is great and it was perfect that it had a parking spot for our rental car. We had amazing meals in Mougins and in Villefrance sur mer, it was absolutely magical. Thank you so much, we will highly recommend your flat to other friends when they go to Cannes and we'll of course keep your Villa in mind for subsequent visits.

Our honeymoon was perfect!

We spent our honeymoon in Vila Charlotte and it was fantastic! Apartment is designed with very good taste and has everything you might need during vacation. Terraces are perfect for private sunbathing and meals on fresh air :) Villa itself is within walking distance to major Cannes sites and at the same time has great territory with beautiful garden and pool. This turned out to be SO important, as beaches are not of the best quality and most apartments in the center have no private territory at all... We definitely will come back to Cannes and stay at Villa Charlotte. Thanks a lot! And a little advice for those who will stay there - if you want to go to Antibes, Nice, Monaco or other place in Cote D'Azur - use boat trips. It is about 10 EUR and you won't be stuck in traffic and will have no parking problems :)

Perfect vacation

We stayed two weeks, end of June, beginning of July, when the temperature reached 35 Celsius and more. Appartment has central A/C which was highly appreciated. The place is exactly like the pictures on the website, beautiful, with all you need to feel at home: space, amenities, decoration. We like to cook and, for the first time, we did not have to buy any utensils or cookware, we had all we need in the kitchen. On our arrival, Mrs Anderson welcomed us and explained everything we had to know. She was very nice. We would recommend the place without any hesitation.

Apartment at Villa Charlotte Cannes

My wife and me spent almost 4 weeks at this apartment in august/september 2009. This was probably one of the best holidays we have ever had. The apartment is perfect for a couple, maybe even a couple with one little child. The building is very new and very well maintained. Parking is provided. The gate to the property is opened electronically by a remote control. The apartment itself is very nice, with stylish furniture and decoration. We immediately felt very comfortable, almost like home. The apartment has two very nice terraces. We enjoyed so much having breakfast and dinner outside on the terrace, or just relaxing or reading. The apartment is surrounded by a nice little garden and the whole apartment complex has very nice plants and trees, almost like a little park. The swimming pool is beautiful, either for a quick dip before breakfast or relaxing on one of the sun chairs during the day. However, most of the time we went to the beaches during day time. We hired a car for the entire time period of our stay, which we think was worthwhile and we would recommend anyone to do so as well. There are lots of nice beaches, places and attractions to visit. However beaches in Cannes were very crowded in august and we preferred to drive to beaches near St. Raphael several times or made day-drips to Antibes . We enjoyed very much to shop food in the big supermarkets, the selection of fresh food is great. In the evening we prepared dinner in the apartment. There is absolutely nothing missing in the kitchen to cook or to bake. We just felt like being at home. Later in the evening we relaxed on the sofa watching TV or reading. The only thing missing was Internet axcess by W-LAN, however the owner will probably fix that. Jill and Steve, the owners of the apartment, were very helpful and provided a good and personal customer service. We can recommend this apartment without any restrictions, and we hope we will have the chance to stay there for another time period in the near future.
