Montauk State park and Lane Springs are within minutes for trout fishing. United State Forest service is within 5 minutes in several directions for government land hunting.

Cabin was very cozy. We were in town to see our son graduate at Fort Leonard Wood so it was a perfect distance from the fort. The host was easy to contact when the need arose.

I was coming into town for my son's military graduation. I chose this cabin instead of paying for an overpriced and overcrowded hotel. I couldn't be happier that I did. It was peaceful and relaxing. Close enough drive to the base, about 20 minutes. The cabin is rustic and cozy. Right off the main road, but still felt extremely private. Never heard any noise from vehicles driving by. If the weather wasn't as hot as it was while we were staying we would have loved to use the outdoor firepit. We also enjoyed seeing how the owners incorporated their ranch into the decor. The cabin served us well, and we were very happy with our stay. We would definitely stay again if ever coming back up. Only issue I could see come up for someone is the staircase if the person has mobility issues. However, the couch downstairs does turn into a bed and they could stay there and be very comfortable. Would be a wonderful place for a couples get away, as well as for a family.

Peaceful Experience

This cabin was not only very cozy but also very homey. The set up of everything was nice and accessible. Staying at this cabin was overall a nice and peaceful experience. I recommend this cabin for a nice getaway.

I’ll start with the pros and end with some cons The surrounding area and backyard were beautiful. Surrounded with greenery and nature and fresh air. The location was secluded and quiet and cozy overall. The host responded to messages quickly and the check in was very easy. Now to the consThe cabin interior was extremely dirty, if you’re a clean freak, I would look elsewhere.There were flies in every part of the house, fly takeover.The WiFi would connect to phones but it wouldn’t work 90% of the time, we couldn’t get the tv to work for more than an hour as well during our stay. We had to use our phone data plans to surf internet.

We drove bye the cabin several times and the door was left wide open...In turn their will be flies inside when you do that. We have a very good house cleaner that inspects before arrival, even after a clean. Our cabin was left with trash overflowing inside and very dirty afterward for sure. This is a country cabin with spotty Wi-Fi at times I will admit that is out of our control. This is our first time we have ever had someone say it wasn't clean. I'm sorry you felt that way but am very confident that it was to start with.

Great Get Away

We stayed here in early July 2022. We found the cabin awesome, quite, updated and comfortable. Location was great. It was 20 minutes to Rolla and 35 minutes (easy drive) to Montauk State Park. The only negative was the upper bunk was to small to allow anyone to sleep up there other than perhaps a very tiny child. If that bed was lower it would have been perfect. We will try to return. Thank you!

Nice cabin

The cabin is clean, in good shape, and has everything someone would need for a stay. It is a little out of the way but not too isolated. It is near a road and you will hear an occasional pickup truck but it is a rural road with light traffic. I only have one negative, the spiral staircases is narrow and steep. It could be a problem for people with mobility issues or small children. Other than that, I enjoyed the peace and the call of the Bobwhite quail.

Endless Charm

This cabin was so great! Has so much character. My son and 2 other privates got to escape base for a few hours and relax. It was spotless and communication with the host was easy with immediate responses. The pellet stove heated place just perfect and adds to the charm. Being so secluded, I was a little nervous by myself the first night. By night two I was already planning where I’m going to buy land and build one just like it!!! Unfortunately my trip included a lovely ice storm but I can only imagine how great it would have been a week earlier when it was in the 70s! Would have been great to sit outside by a fire enjoying the cows! If I ever end up in the area again, I would definitely stay. Can’t understand why anyone would pay more for a cramped hotel room! Thanks for offering up that gem to guests!
