Mexico Beach Living!

Living in Cabo San Lucas for ten years, my partner and I decided to take a trip to Salchi for a change of scenery and some peaceful alone time. The house we stayed in had a great layout, allowing us to fully appreciate the beautiful views and unwind. The beach was just a few steps away and pleasantly uncrowded. We also enjoyed daily meals at the nearby Casa Mauna Restaurant, which offered a fabulous menu for us as vegetarians. During our stay, we experienced a hot spell with little to no breeze after 7 PM, making the living area quite warm. However, when there was a breeze, it wasn't an issue. Despite this, we would definitely choose to book this place again.

Great slice of heaven

We had a great stay. Mario was helpful for whatever we needed, the place was stocked with everything to make our stay easy (kitchen, pool, beach), the property is well kept, comfortable furniture/beds, easy walk to the beach for sun, swimming ect. We had a cook for lunch and dinners most nights. Only downside is the distance from town (45min to 1h), so as long as you’re stocked up and not needing to go far, this place is a relaxing slice of heaven.

The house was built with exquisite taste, with lighting and colors that provide a warm atmosphere. The access to the beach is easy and the pool is overlooking the ocean. A true gem.

Fabulous Vacation on Oaxacan Coast

This house was perfect for us. We felt like we landed in our own personal paradise. The seemless indoor to outdoor living space was so comfortable and felt like simple luxury with the open spaces, beautifully crafted lounging areas, and ever-enchanting view of the Pacific. The pool is amazing. We could see the Milky Way during our night swims! Mario, the property manager was so helpful and gave us great advice. Also, he was so patient and friendly with all our questions and wonderings about the area. We had an unforgettable and oh so relaxing vacation in Salchi!

Amazing property!

We will 100% rent here again. The place was beautiful! Very spacious and well done. Huge bedrooms.....every bedroom has a nice bathroom and shower. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Good quality pots and pans and lots of glasses /cutlery. I also loved there is a water cooler so we never run out of fresh cold water. The weber bbq was a huge plus! The outdoor space and pool was absolutely perfect! Mario kept it wonderfully sparkling clean all week. He also took great care of us with driving us where we wanted and getting us whatever we asked for! He was great 😊(also speaks very good English which was a plus) The beach was huge and beautiful and we basically had it to ourselves! Just a quick walk down the steps to your (almost private) beach. Trish and Terry the homeowners were absolutely fabulous. Easy to get ahold of. Answered all of our questions. Were very easy going with a later check out which we appreciated. Just great people to deal with 😊 We felt very lucky and grateful to rent such a perfect place! This place deserves more than 5 stars!!!!! 😁 Chris and Karla Blum

Idyllic Villa with Spectacular Views

The villa and setting far exceeded our expectations and provided a perfect retreat for relaxation, with every needed amenity. The Property Manager, Mario, met us at the airport and took care of anything we needed -- he was terrific. Depending on the time of year, and amount of rain, the dirt roads to the villa can be challenging, so we recommend a jeep. With the two local hotel restaurants only open on weekends in off-season, the only restaurants were in La Crucecita, about a forty minute drive, but it is a hub of activity and local entertainment. What we loved best, was the beautiful infinity pool and ocean view. Trish and Terry did everything possible to ensure the success of our fabulous vacation.

The views from the house are amazing and the house is very comfortable

To get to Salchi where the house is located takes some work as the roads are in bad shape ( we rented a Jeep) but once in the house is worth it . The people are very friendly in the neighborhood . We were able to get fresh fish , lobsters fresh from local fisherman . The owner terie has a ground keeper ( Mario) that can get anything for you . The owner tricia is good to work with and provides a lot help to organize your visit. This location is a bit far from the city , Huatulco , so you need to be use to drive around Mexico . It is a great house and place.

Winter getaway with family early January

Trish and Terry are wonderful hosts and ensure that we had a fantastic time. Beautiful location on a private and extremely clean beach. Able to see whales migrating from the house level. Lovely and secure residential area out of town but close enough to hit Crucecita and the bahias. Plenty of room for our family of eight with children ages 5 to 11. The Manta Raya hotel has excellent food and is within walking distance, and Trish can arrange for a deliciously prepared home cooked meal at super reasonable prices.

Wonderful home

Trish is the absolute perfect hostess, everything was wonderful. A house that feels like home and leaves you needing nothing. It was everything we expected and more. Having Manataraya down at the beach was the icing on the cake for me as I did not have to cook any meals and the food is very good. Reto and his staff do a wonderful job. If you do decide to cook all or any of your meals, the kitchen has everything you might need. We have rented many homes in North America and Europe and this house is the best equipped, comfortable and clean house we have rented with friendly, helpful neighbors close by. Thanks Trish and Terry.

I highly recommend this casa for it's luxury, location,amenities and artful design and decor.

This place was absolute perfection for week one with 4 of my girlfriends, and then the perfect respite for my husband and I to enjoy a quiet, restorative and delightful week of ocean views, beachtime, spectacular sunsets and most comfortable surroundings.Everything you could wish for was right there....except for another 2 weeks which I desperately longed for on fly home day! Mexico and this special casa are what I work so hard for the rest of the year!

STUNNING

My husband and I recently returned from a 2 week vacation at Casa Collier. I feel as though mere words are not enough to describe not only this beautiful property but the vacation of a lifetime. I was initially worried about booking a property so far away and not knowing if the property would look like the pictures. Not only did the property exceed the pictures it was BREATHTAKING!! Everything from the 1st phone call with Trish until the time we arrived back home was seamless. I read all the previous reviews and I thought to myself (can this property and this place really be as good as everyone say it is)... YES IT REALLY IS!! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, you will NOT be disappointed!! Trish.. thank you again for everything you did for us and for making our trip, the trip of a lifetime!!!

Awesome, peaceful and relaxing!

Casa Collier is the place to be if you want peace, relaxation, beauty, every convenience and a view that inspires you each and every moment! The weather was perfect and even a few days of cloudy skies and spitting rain were lovely. The pool is perfect for a refreshing dip or pool exercise and makes the vista from the patio picture perfect. Trish and Terry have thought of everything one might need for the perfect home away from home. The kitchen was equipped with great appliances, dishes and cookware making meal prep a breeze. The beds were comfy and with the ocean breezes blowing at night one doesn't even need to turn on the air conditioning. The beach and waves at Salchi Bay are constantly changing so that no two days are the same! Walking up and down the 150 stairs to and from the beach becomes the perfect fitness tool and gets easier and easier the more times you do it! There are many fun places to visit within an hour or two of driving so when you need a break from relaxing, there are many options. La Crucicita, is an adorable town about a 40 minute drive away which has great markets for food and other types of shopping and wonderful Mexican restaurants. It is impossible not to enjoy yourself at this beautiful Casa and We highly recommend it for those who want to get away from the over run touristy spots in other parts of Mexico. Our only regret was that we didn't know enough Spanish to be able to communicate better with the locals. Brush up on your Spanish and make a booking with Trish and Terry who are wonderful hosts!

Ahhhhh. . . . .

I am of two minds as I write a review of this Salchi destination. On the one hand, I want to shout out accolades, on the other hand, I don't want to say a word - to keep it to myself so it is available for my next vacation! Everything was perfect - our hosts have created a haven of bliss in this tiny private oasis on the ocean. The interior was spectacular, the terrace provided a dining and entertaining option with a breathless view of the bay by day and starry sky by night. As a gourmet cook, I appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The bedrooms were large, airy and beds very comfortable. The pool was pristine and a luxury beyond words in this warm climate where the weather is clear and sunny each and every day. Often we were the only ones on the beach. I highly recommend this property for a gathering of family, friends or a couple wanting to get away from it all to enjoy unique privacy and gorgeous surroundings.

Best Kept Secret

I'm reticent to tell you too much because this beautiful vacation property may get snapped up all to often and not be available again. I would have to say that it was one of the nicest holidays I have ever had. It was last January that I had the opportunity to stay at Trish and Terry's beautiful paradise. Terry and Trish are delightful and answered any questions I had quickly and efficiently. Also, the locals and adgacent neighbours were more than hospitable! The location on the Pacific coast is to die for! The temperature is usually a perfect 82 degrees give or take a few. Even though the pictures are tantalizing they do not do this property justice. Every view from any window is a feast for one's eyes. The gardens are gorgeous and the five minute walk to Salchi beach is very pleasant. Once at the beach be sure to stop in at the Mantaraya Hotel for a margarita. The accommodations are beautiful and are extremely clean and roomy. I loved the mexican decor....they did a beautiful job of providing a comfortable and authentic environment. And then there's the pool, what can I say, execpt I think I might have spent a good portion of my holiday floating in the lovely refreshing pool. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others it is a magnificent place to be.

Very Beautiful Vacation Getaway!

This was our first time using HomeAway and we were a little worried the pictures of this house might be too good to be true. However the house is even more beautiful in person. It is an awesome place for a vacation, the home really has everything you need and the neighbors and maids are very friendly. The house and pool were very very clean. We loved having a pool! The stay was really awesome. And the whole process of booking and paying for the house was very easy, no hidden fees or weird requests. Trish and Terry are great to work with. Trish was super friendly and answered all of our questions and concerns quickly. I would definitely stay here again! Salchi Beach is also very pretty. Its not much of a swimming beach because the waves are a little rough but Huatulco has some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. There is a beach fairly close to the house called San Agustin. It is a great beach for swimming, snorkeling, or just having some food. I can also highly recommend La Entrega Beach, its right in town. Just a side not if you are going in the rainy season (we spend the first week of October here): We arrived just a day or two after a big storm so the cable and internet were knocked out for the entire week we were staying there, but the Mantaraya Hotel (which is also right at Salchi Bay) let us use their internet. Being a beach vacation we really didn't need the internet much, we spend the majority of our time in the water! The Hotel did not charge us anything to use the internet which shows that the neighbors really are very friendly. There are only two roads to Salchi Bay the last Kilometer and a half (about 1 mile) of both is dirt and sand so they were really rough to get over in cars when it has rained a lot. So its best to rent or bring a vehicle with 4-wheel drive if you are going in the rainy season or at the end of it. A really pleasant surprise for us was, a few days after we let the owners know how bad the roads were and that we got a flat tire going in, one of the roads was grated making it smooth and easy to drive on. So as mentioned before Trish and Terry are a pleasure to work with. We definitely recommend this house!

Fantastic vacation

We had the pleasure of spending the whole month of February in this beautiful villa. The entire process from start to finish was flawless and the owners Terri and Trish were great to work with as well as extremely accommodating. We were even able to meet them the day we arrived. The villa is exactly like the pictures and has everything you will need or had hoped for. The views from every room are breathtaking and the sound of the waves at night are soothing. The best view was from my floaty in the pool while sipping on my margarita !! The villa is very large and provided good space for a large group of family. Plenty of outdoor space and I appreciated all the beautiful gardens around the villa as it attracted lots of birds and butterflies. We spent most of our time outdoors during the day and playing cards in the evening on the front patio. It's a short walk down to the wonderful beach and also a small hotel that serves pretty good food and drinks if you just want to have some different scenery and meet a few of the other residence from the bay. It is situated about 45 minutes from Huatulco and about 35 minutes to a large grocery store but the villa has a freezer so we stocked up for the week so we didn't have to travel so often. A car rental is a must but with that being said it is also extremely expensive as we needed a van so 4 weeks was running at about 3800.00. ouch!! We explored the whole area all the way to Puerto Escondido several times and we drove up to Hagia Sofia and spent a lovely day touring around the gardens. We loved loved loved the pool!!! it was the highlight of our days and some nights too. The young man that came to clean it was so nice and he did a great job. The maid was also really pleasant and was quick to honour any special requests. The Canadian satalite t.v. was a bonus. Overall my kids, grandkids and ourselves had a terrific vacation here. If you are looking for breathtaking ocean views, luxury villa amenities and solitude then this is the place for you.

Amazing!

Our family of 6 spent a fantastic week at Villa Collier in early April. The location, which is about 40 minutes from the more developed areas of Huatulco, was simply spectacular - perfect for those wanting their own space and lots of peace and quiet. The beach was beautiful, the home was very well equipped and well maintained, and the pool a real plus! Other area attractions are easily accessible by car. Trish was a real pleasure to deal with and all arrangements were handled promptly and without hassle. And each of the neighbors in the Salchi Bay development were friendly and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you so much for making our holiday a most memorable one!

Perfect Vacation

We just wanted to say that we had a perfect vacation at Salchi Bay and can’t wait to return! Although a little leery on the initial drive up, we were in stunned awe when we actually got there. The view was spectacular, and the house was exactly as it was on your site – beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped for everything that we needed! We enjoyed meeting several of your neighbors who were all very hospitable and helpful on what to see and do in the area. We even went along on a couple of tours with them (beach wiener roast, happy hours, St. Patty’s Day party and a day at Zipolite)... good laughs, good memories, and great photos! We have to say though that the best part of the vacation, other than getting away from the cold, was the breathtaking sunsets and the sound of those waves. It just never got old with us. You have a beautiful home, and we were so pleased to have found it! If we aren’t permanent neighbors in the future, we’ll definitely be booking with you again soon! Our days of resort vacations are over!

Just sit back, relax & enjoy

We loved our 14 day trip to Salchi Bay. Trish & Terri's home is luxury with all the best flare Mexico has to offer. This home is well furnished, spacious, and exquistely decorated. You are reminded of all the beauty Mexico has to offer with their decor. Hand painted chairs, glassware, wooden sculptures, tiles and even the bathroom sinks!!! The tile work is amazing and I loved the rock area rug in the living room. The colors are vibrant and scream Mexico. It is a happy decor!! I would wake up every morning to a beautiful ocean view and say good bye to each day with a breath taking sunset. In the evening go outside and look at the stars! Amazing!!!Their kitchen is well equiped with every modern convience you could possibly think of. The staff were fantastic. Mario was a favorite. He took care of the pool and the beautifully manicured gardens. He is extremely proud of his gardens and loves to share his knowledge. The satellite TV is the best we ever had in Mexico. Every evening I could watch my local Winnipeg news and weather. It was funny to see how cold it was at home, while we were sitting in Salchi Bay. Thanks again Trish & Terri for sharing your home with us. We will be back!!!

Driving the rental car to the house, we were not sure what to expect, but as soon as we reached the house we were impressed! This house is lofty, comfortable and incredibly well equiped. Although there is a secluded beach only 5 minutes walking from the house, you will find you will be torn between staying and relaxing by the pool or going out to the beach. In case you do decide to go to the ocean, San Agustin is an incredible experience- snorkeling, swimming, eating. The house is in Salchi which houses a very friendly community of people who are more than willing to help and give you tips on what to do. Tip: I advise to rent a car in Huatulco airport to get around and explore.

Terrifico!

Wow, what a terrific holiday - Our family age ranged from 14 to 50 years and not one of us could remember a better vacation. The home was simply beautiful. Centrally located in Salchi Bay with a beautiful ocean view, we watched whales breaching in the bay from the infinity pool! The snorkelling was wonderful right off the beach in Salchi and STUNNING 40 minutes away at St. Augustine - the home is beautifully layed out and easy to adjust to - we felt right at home from the first moments there. One of the few homes in the bay with a pool, we really felt privelged to have the option of going to the beach or staying home and having a great time! The locals are welcoming and extremely helpful (particularly for those of us with poco (pocito) espanol). Trish and Terry were totally fun and easy to do business with and the ease of coming and going made the difference. The whole family (including the teenagers) totally recommend Salchi Bay and villa Collier and are already planning their own vacation back to Mexico! thanks a million!

Fantastic getaway!

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Salchi Bay. It is simply impossible for me to say enough good things about our wonderful experience at Villa Collier. Initially, we were attracted to this area because of availability of non-stop flights from USA (Houston) to Huatulco. The villa is less than 30 minutes drive from the HUX airport. We rented a four-door pick-up truck at the airport (from Hertz), arriving at Salchi Bay late in the evening (after dark), and so did not realize what we'd see the next morning, in the light of day. We moved right in, and settled in for the night. The next morning, we were dazzled by the spectacular setting and view - a completely unobstructed, 180 degree view of the Pacific. When sitting by the pool (which is beautiful and private!), we saw whales pass by out in the bay....and also enjoyed a spectacular sunset each evening. The photos that are posted on this site do not do complete justice to the house & the setting. It is roomy, open, bright, colorful, and very well-furnished & well-maintained. The kitchen is quite well equipped. The house is very comfortable, with good beds, nice bathrooms, and ceiling fans in almost every room. We enjoyed a lovely breeze outdoors every day. The beautiful beach is a short, 5-minute (or less) walk down the hill, and there are rarely more than just a few people there. The neighbors are friendly, but not intrusive - you can have a completely quiet and private vacation, or enjoy interacting with others who live nearby in the community – it’s your choice. Excellent grocery stores (Super Che) not too far away, though we only ventured away from the house one time. When vacationing, we enjoy relaxing by the pool and/or the beach, reading, cooking our own meals, watching movies, napping, soaking up the sun, etc. etc. - and Villa Collier filled every single wish for us. Trish & Terry (the owners) were a delight to deal with from beginning to end. We highly recommend Villa Collier and hope to return before too much more time passes!

A little bit of Paradise !

We knew we had found something special by the first morning, breakfasting on the terrace watching whales go by! I think the property description is too modest. Everything is luxurious, fresh, spacious, spotless and the house is architect-designed to capture the breeze so we were comfortable on even the hottest days. There are truly uninterrupted spectacular views from the terrace and pool (divine!) with lounge chairs for sun-lovers and plenty of shade on the veranda for others. All of the bedrooms have ocean views with sliding doors opening directly onto the pool terrace or garden, plus plenty of clothes hanging/storage space. The en-suite shower rooms are decorated in beautiful locally- handcrafted tiles as are the built-in vanity tables with mirrors in each bedroom (the perfect set up for our adult group each wanting our own creature comforts). We were there on the recommendation of friends here in France and it lived up to our high expectations. It is extremely well furnished and the owners have provided every comfort. Beds comfy with good linens. Good water pressure, with water heated by solar panels. Handy WiFi and washing machine. The kitchen, fully equipped, has two sink 'zones' and an island so everyone can help themselves with no turf wars. We made very good use of the separate bar area with sink and fridge-freezer. A big plus: it is virtually mosquito free all day and all night (except for maybe 10-15 minutes just after sunset when we covered up or closed the screens) so perfect for outdoor living and dining. The cluster of homes are served by an on-site management office which takes care of things like delivery of drinking water and daily maintenance. Quirks: it is Mexico, after all, so the normal practice is to use water and energy wisely. We appreciated massages by a local lady who comes to you. Other villa owners we met could not have been more easygoing and friendly- a charming, unspoiled neighborhood. Huatulco has a variety of good restaurants (try the Kristal Rose) plus shops, services,fresh markets and supermarkets. The golfers in our group raved about the local golf club while others enjoyed the beach, which we usually had practically to ourselves. Trish, the owner, was delightful and prompt to deal with from beginning to end. Overall a deluxe holiday and excellent value. Our ten day stay in March was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Paradise place

This is a remarkable holiday spot. We were there for two weeks in April and the weather was perfect each day . Accommodations are 2nd to none with an en suite in each bedroom and very comfy beds.. Tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable, with the pool on the veranda ( has a stunning view of the ocean and the odd pod of whales ) The beach is absolutely beautiful and we felt as if we were in Greece or some other exotic place. We were in Huatulco often as it is just a short drive, and took a 40 minute flight to the most interesting city of Oaxaca where there is a lot of great sight seeing to do. All of the amenities are first class and I highly recommend this Vacation to anyone.
