Skiing, Fishing, ATV, UMF, FMH - Located 40 minutes from Sugarloaf USA, 14 Minutes to Farmington, and under 4 minutes to the lake beach, this cozy cape is nestled in the little village of New Vineyard, ME. It has been freshened up with many modern updates while keeping the old-fashioned charm. The kitchen is loaded with everything you may need! Plenty of fresh linens and a washer/dryer! 3 bedrooms and 1,200 Sq Ft. Sip your coffee on the balcony off the kitchen or look up at the stars around the backyard firepit. We will even start the basement woodstove and make the house warm and cozy before you arrive! The perfect place to relax and refresh!! Check out our reviews!! (If you want to stay during a time we have personally blocked out, please send us a message and we will see what we can do. Nightly price applies to up to four people. Chip and Kathy were wonderful hosts!! The home is even better than the pictures! There are SO many thoughtful touches. We fell in love with local attractions like Farmington and Quill Hill. My one small critique would be a little too much in person communication with the owners at tricky times. My daughter and I were in the car for 13 hours and arrived at 9:30 pm eager to unpack, eat and go to sleep. Chip and Kathy asked to meet us when we arrived (which I've never experienced through vrbo). While it was actually really nice to meet them (they are truly kind, warm hearted people) it was a little overwhelming to arrive late at night, unpack while also interacting with them and taking in all the information. Likewise, I got a text from Kathy at 7:30 am which woke me and I responded to, and then a visit at 9:00 am from Chip about the same information regarding the wood burning stove. I answered the door in my pjs. I was on vacation and wanting to sleep in so this felt really awkward. There were other times when Chip and Kathy came over and it was lovely to talk with them but I would just suggest the hosts connect not too early in the morning or late at night. Other than that, it was basically an absolutely perfect stay. I'm so grateful for their care and to get to know the area more while my daughter was at camp.

This is a perfect spot. Beautiful little house. Everything you need. 15 min from UMF and downtown Farmington. Kathy and Chip are excellent hosts. We’ve stayed here 3 times and I would highly recommend!

Cozy Stayover

Great accommodations from Chip and Kathy. In addition, they live nearby which is great in case anything pops up. Wood stove was already on when we arrived which was warm and cozy. House is right off of Rt 27 with about a 30 minute ride to the Sugarloaf base lodge. Will definitely stay there again.

Another great visit to Maine

Booked this cozy home in New Vineyard because it was close to the areas we wanted to visit. Perfect stay. Great communication with hosts, clear instructions. Home was spotless, comfortable, warm and well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a cup of coffee & tea and cook meals. Also enjoyed the fire pit and making smores! Because this house sits a little higher than the others nearby, it gives a great view to all the beautiful fall foliage all around. Another bonus is it is very close to Porter Lake and Farmington. We would definitely book this home again. The hosts are very kind and welcoming.

Beautiful and comfortable house

We loved our two nights here. The bed linens (particularly upstairs) were very comfortable and the kitchen was convenient with everything you need. The bathroom was nice and the shower strong. We didn’t meet the owners but texted with them and they were very accommodating about what we needed to do at checkout (not much). We recommend this house!

If you’re looking for a Maine getaway in the woods, close to Sugarloaf, Diadema golf course, Farmington this is the place for you. Owners are great, pie is excellent, property is clean and well cared for. Highly recommend.

Great Location for UMaine Farmington Graduation

Cathy and Chip are wonderful hosts! Liz is a terrific communicator. We rented the VRBO while we enjoyed our daughter's graduation from UMaine Farmington. The house is cozy, neat, well laid out and perfect for our stay. Thanks for making the weekend memory-filled!

Wonderful adventure!

We went to New Vinyard to view the total eclipse. Chip and Kathy, our hosts were wonderful and warm. The house was perfect for the four of us. We rode around to other towns in the area, up the mountain, and across a famed wire bridge that bounces when you put on the brakes. Our nephew and three others came up to sit outside with us to view the eclipse. We all had an amazing time. The little village store was great for pizza and incidentals. By being in New Vinyard, we avoided the huge traffic jams after the eclipse.

Great place in New Vineyard

We enjoyed our stay at Chip and Kathy‘s home in New Vineyard. The house was nicely furnished, clean, well organized, and had everything we needed. Chip and Kathy’s hospitality was above and beyond! We really enjoyed the beach at Porter lake, but we also commuted to Belgrade Lakes, Rangeley Lake, Flagstaff Lake and even the southern coast of Maine. If you’re in the area, give this place a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Thank you, Chip and Kathy!

So much to see, so little time!

We had a lovely time in New Vineyard, the location although remote was close to so many amazing places to see.... some of our favorites were Rangeley, Quill Hill & Moxie Falls. New Vineyard was quiet with no real business' but within 20 to 30 minutes civilization and great restaurants surrounded us. We loved the place clean quiet and lots of room to work. Our days were uninterrupted for work and late afternoon/evenings for new adventures. We will definitely be visiting again! Thank you Kathy, Chip & Liz

Great Stay

The house is actually more roomy than the pictures appear. It has an open kitchen/dining room area that is quite large. Comfy beds and accurate listing. Would stay again.

Mountains are Magic

We had so much fun in New Vineyard while staying at this house! We came to cross country ski at Maine Huts and Trails and also the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center trails. Both were so much fun! The hosts were so hospitable! They were actually so nice and easy-going, it was like we were already friends lol. They said when we come back, will all have to hike together. There is an amazing view at the top of a mountain called Jacob’s Look that you can walk to from the house. We also took the one child with us sledding on a huge hill down the road from the house. It’s right across from Poland Spring. You fly! I can’t say enough good things about the house, the hosts, and the location. It’s magic! Go!

We had a nice stay. The layout if the house is nice with a long front room with kithen at one end and dining towards the other. It keeps people together. I like having a "TV" room off the main area to keep it separate. Chip and Kathy were welcoming hosts and kept the fire going in the woidstove.

I grew up in the small town of New Vineyard Maine and continue to live in the area with my husband Chip. I am a finish carpenter and love working on a variety of projects. Chip and I work mostly together which is a joy to both of us. I enjoy hosting friends and family at our home and near by cabin. We are really excited about opening up my Grandmother's former home and pray that it will be a blessing to all who stay here! We like to be as disconnected as possible to the craziness of the world around us and do not feel the need to have a computer or email address; so we have asked our friend Liz P to host this property for us online and take care of the technology side of things. Chip & I will be available by phone and in person while our guests are at this property to help you with any needs or questions you may have. We look forward to getting to know you through our guest book or in person and hope that you enjoy this peaceful, cozy home! - Kathy

I also have grown up in Maine and not far from New Vineyard. I have been working part-time in real estate for 5 years. I also manage a few rental properties for some out of state, mutual friends. I was excited when Chip and Kathy asked me to manage the technology side of their Vrbo property! As a full-time wife/secretary and mother I enjoy this variety of small part-time jobs that allow me to provide a little extra income for our family as well as the time to take care of my family. My husband is also a carpenter and has worked with Chip and Kathy on projects throughout the years. As their long-time friends we can attest to their warm hospitality! Stay for a while and use our washer and dryer! Tell stories and roast marshmallows around the firepit! There are ATV and snowmobile trails right near the property! Skiing 40 minutes north!
