Family vacation

We had a family of 20 staying in this house and it was the perfect amount of space. Super convenient walk to the beach and they provided instructions. Wi-Fi wasn’t very good, but that could have been because there were so many devices in the house. Overall it was a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here with my family again.

Gillade: Renlighet och incheckning

Adequate

Check in went well. The house was clean. But there were some areas that needed attention. The A/C in the south east "sun room" did not work it stayed hot in there. The door on the south side of the house did not have a strong arm or chain or anything to prevent it from being pulled by the wind every time it was opened and slamming into the windows. I was concerned that the window would break but it didn't. The pool table was a joke. It was unlevel and the sticks were crooked and had no felt on the tips. We laughed that off when trying to have some friendly competitive games, (that was impossible). Both propane tanks were empty. I got one for the grill myself. I was told that I would be reimbursed when I submitted the receipt for it, but I have not seen it yet. When the person delivered the 2nd tank the next day. I showed him a small chest down stairs where the top drawer door was broken. And he told me "yeah we know about that I guess they will fix it one day" The grass around the outside needed to be cut it was almost knee high. It would take someone about 20 minutes with a weed wacker to make it look nice. The tree in front is ridiculous and needs trimming as well. Not much view of a Dauphin Island sunset from there. But the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was adequate, and the hot tub was nice and worked fine. The teenagers really enjoyed that. Overall probably a 3.5 rating. I will be back to Dauphin Island, but probably stay somewhere else, not at "Second Wind".

Clean, Comfortable House in a Good Location

This house was clean and comfortable and the pool table was a nice extra. The location was good - close to the Gulf and to the bay.

Roomy place with lots to offer

Overall very nice place. Shows it age in spots, but a lot of nice upgrades have been made. Lots of seating outside. Plenty of random cookware and dishware to serve a large crowd. Pool table could use some love and new cues.

Fun getaway for a group

The beach was definitely walkable, but if bringing chairs or more then driving is better. The unit had a good layout, but not many outlets downstairs near bunk beds. Pool table was broken and so were the pool sticks, which was the main reason we chose the property. HOWEVER, we still had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The multiple hammocks made for such a relaxing chatting spot.

Great place, needs some minor improvements

Great place for families, plenty of space for sleep and play, couple of problems though..the ceiling leaked downstairs anytime someone took a shower upstairs. It needs some updating. The king size bed upstairs was hanging by a thread and needs to be replaced and it doesn’t have a proper dining area or table but we managed to work around that. Overall it was a great trip and we enjoyed the house. Those three things were the only things I noticed in the week we stayed that needs attention

Great house - fun experience

We loved it! It’s a bit of a walk to the beach but worth it. The oven seemed broken - the convection bake fan didn’t work. No complaints-great for kids and families!

Nice little getaway

My husband and I choose to come here because the posting made it seem really close to the beach and it had a hot tub. I has a great hot tub! It was super windy a few days so we could only use it twice. The inside was nice. It was definitely an older home that was being remodled and updated. Vacasa was super attentive while we were there if we needed anything. It was not on the beach as I thought and there was a bush blocking a lot of the beach view from the deck. You can see the bay from under another house across the street. There was a nice relaxation area underneath too with a picnic table and swing. It was too cold for us to check it out. Overall it was great for someone looking for a deal with a lot of people going.
