Seasonal Rental - Cozy Village Home Minutes From Skiing
Nestled amongst spruce, maple and dwarf hemlock trees, our family's 100-year old home is steps away from village stores and cafes, and minutes away from the ski slopes. Our home boasts hardwood floors, mid century furnishings and a modern bathroom with a deep, soaking tub. The Hummingbird has an updated kitchen with new appliances, baseboard heating (two zones) with Nest thermostats, and a high efficiency wood burning stove in the living room. Ample Parking. Washer and dryer in the basement. Plenty of room for storing skis, snowboards and wet gear.
Entering on the first floor from the front porch, you will find a large living room with a picture window, forest green Article sofa and ottoman, a 50" Roku Television, Sonos Speakers for listening to music, a collection of well-loved books for all ages and yes... a credenza full of board games. The dining room seats up to eight around an authentic Saarinen table, and has a lovely Wurlitzer Spinet Piano that is in tune (please do not rest any drinks on the piano). One bedroom with a queen bed and a large closet is on the first floor as is a small 1/2 bathroom with a toilet and sink. The Hummingbird's kitchen is painted a cheerful yellow and is equipped with an electric stove, new refrigerator, new dishwasher and ample cabinets containing dining setups for eight and a collection of pots, pans and other tools for cooking. The spices are all fresh.
There are three bedrooms upstairs: a child's bedroom with twin bunk beds, a front bedroom with a full-sized bed with a large closet, and the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a large closet. The bathroom's best feature, by far, is the deep soaking tub that makes for very enjoyable warm baths after cold days in the snow.
This is a family friendly property.

We are a family of four with two working grownups and two school-aged children. Taken in sum, we are snowboarders, voracious readers, amateur chefs, pretty good dancers, perfume makers and musicians. And as much as we love to travel and seek out new experiences, we also love being rooted in community and being part of a particular place. That's why we love the Catskills. That's why we love Fleischmanns.
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
Our home on Main Street is a 100-year-old American Foursquare. It's as classic as they come. The trees on the property each have a story - from the blue spruce that a former owner planted celebrating every new grandchild, to the maples along the sides that are a legacy from The Maples Hotel, which welcomed warm-weather guests in the days of Woodrow Wilson and mountain railroads. There are so many things that we love about this property - from being on Main Street and being able to walk down the block for coffee or tacos, to the grandeur of waking up in the morning under the canopy and feeling like you're a million miles away from New York City (and only four minutes from the ski slopes). Most of all, we love sitting in the living room with a blazing fire in the wood-burning stove and watching the snow fall from the picture window. Don't leave trash outside - the bears will get it. You are not in Kansas anymore; you're in the Catskills.
