Rustic Farmhouse Style Casita Retreat on Horse Property

Our rustic farmy little casita (approx. 180 sq. ft) boasts a custom build interior with brand new everything inside. Super cozy and comfy! Fairly forewarned, the shower is small. It is tiled, has a rain-head and on demand hot water but it is small. Most guests love the property so much they don’t mind.

We are located on 18 acres with horses and hiking trails, it’s perfect for quiet getaways, travelers passing through, artistic exhale and of course tourists wanting to take in the many attractions nearby. An awesome place for a recharge! We enjoy offering a variety of meal options as well as on the ground horse experiences tailored to your abilities and desire.
The casita is stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and drinks. We are within Âœ hour from Ruidoso’s many attractions, Old Lincoln’s historic sites, beautiful hiking spots or simply stay on property to revive and restore.

The casita was cozy and super clean. The hostess thought of everything and even got us half and half. My husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the beautiful scenery of Hondo from the patio chairs outside.

Absolutely wonderful

We have stayed there before and loved it so we went back for our 2nd anniversary because it as so cozey and romantic. The perfect place for couples to reconnect. She was so great to communicate with and i loved the personalized card that i can keep forever.

We enjoyed the nice, quiet accommodations- nice view with very comfortable outdoor furniture. Host directions were spot on and getting in and out of the property was very easy! Great location to explore Lincoln NM and Fort Stanton!! Easy drive to Ruidoso!

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing.

June 14 - 16 2024: Melissa hosts a special, peaceful spot. It is as attractive to stay put and enjoy the immediate surroundings as it is to take shorter excursions. This location is a short drive to Ruidoso and other historic and scenic attractions in this part of New Mexico. The horses are beautiful. The accommodations were nice and cozy. Nothing distracted from the country ranch setting. My wife and I can very much recommend this destination. It's a well deserved 5 stars.

Home away from home

Great place, Melissa is a wonderful host. Beautiful scenery, and meeting the horse, dogs and Melli on the property were highlights. The casita is perfect, and really feels like a home away from home. I enjoyed my stay here and will be coming back.

New Mexico Getaway

This place is exactly what I was looking for, peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful country. The host is very friendly, polite and accommodating. The casita is clean and well put together. The night sky is incredible! Perfect place to unplug and explore the Lincoln National Forest. Highly recommend.

Peaceful

Beautiful and quiet property tucked in the hills of Hondo. The only reason I Icouldn't give it 5 stars is the very tiny shower. Stayed labor day weekend. We wanted to be around Ruidoso but because of the racing that weekend everything was crowded. This place was perfect, close enough for a short drive in but far enough to be out of the chaos.

Quiet, relaxing, valley stay

Amazing stay in the Hondo valley. Quick overnight stop but enjoyed quick hike behind property, meeting the animals, wonderful views of the valley. The small cottage was perfect size for 2 people with all the amenities we needed for our stay. Look forward to staying again on my next trip to Ruidoso!

Amazing Casita!
