Aloha,

För många besökare till Maui verkar tanken att stanna i en privat tropisk strandgård omöjlig eller bara en idyllisk scen av förr. Men en vistelse på Kahana Nui Villa kommer att göra denna dröm till verklighet.

När du går in genom din egen automatiska träport kommer du att hitta dig omedelbart hälsade på gården med ett högt tornet Monkeypod-träd omgivet av frodiga tropiska trädgårdar. Många människor vandrar omedelbart runt huset först och är förvånad över att upptäcka Kahana Nui ligger noggrant inbädda steg från Maui's fantastiska marina fristad. Det är inte ovanligt att upptäcka spinner eller bottlenose delfiner som spelar, eller knölvalar bryter strax utanför stranden. Ibland hittar du jätte gröna havssköldpaddor (honu) eller ens utrotade munkförseglar som solar sig på sanden. Tidiga stigningar kan vakna för att njuta av en fantastisk soluppgång och upptäcka lokal fiskare som kastar sina traditionella nät eller spjutdykning för bläckfisk (tako) vid strandferien.

Med utsikt mot havet sträcker sig utsikten från Kahana Nui från södra stranden av ön Lana'i till Mokuniki strax utanför stranden av nordöstra kanten av Moloka'i. Dessa synpunkter är inte bara från den lugna gården, men även från två historier av glasfodrade lanais för att inte nämna från bekvämligheten av king size-sängarna i fyra av oceanfront mastersviterna mot väst inuti hemmet.

Huset är centrerat i mitten av gården på stora stavar som stiger upp mot molnen. När du stigar uppför trappan och anger du omgiven av unik arkitektur utsmyckad i stora detaljer beställda av indonesiska hantverkare. Kahana Nui, som kallas "Bali House", är en sex sovrum, fyra och en halv bad lyxig strand hemma på stranden i Kahana bekvämt beläget mellan historiska Lahaina Town och den exklusiva semesterorten Kapalua på västra stranden av Maui. Det friluftande och öppna golvhuset var speciellt utformat för att dra nytta av de milda vindbrisen. Framsidan av huset har en massiv infällbar golv till tak glasmur som enkelt glider bort för att skapa en raffinerad inomhus / utomhus oceanfront vardagsrum och matupplevelse. I de sällsynta tillfällen när tradewinds ebb, är varje sovrum utrustat med egna individuella luftkonditionering enheter.

För strandälskare finns "ingen plats som hemma" när du bor på Kahana Nui. Mörsta steg över kudden mjuk gräsmatta du har din egen flykt för att simma, snorkla, stå upp paddla alla direkt framför hemmet. Men om du gillar äventyr är några av världens mest kända stränder bara några minuter bort - Kaanapali Beach i söder och Napili Bay i norr. De flesta gäster befinner sig dock oftast i simbassängen Honu-poolen, sola vid poolen och lyssnar på vattenfallet, eller kopplar av i den stora bubbelbadet och njuter av en Mai Tai med strålarna på höga.

Älskar golf? Ta bara en vänster ut ur porten och tomgång norrut på Lower Honoapiillani Road (känd här här som "sLower Road.) Där bara några minuter är både den tekniskt utmanande PGA Plantation Course och det är mer tilltalande syster Kapalua Bay Course.

What an incredible location for our family gathering. The house was well apportioned and stocked with what we needed to get our two weeks started. The grandkids love the pool and beach access. Close to lots of beached and places to explore.

What a view!

Three families spanning three generations enjoyed a wonderful stay at Suzy’s home! We saw Hawaiian monk seals right on our beach and sea turtles right off the rocks in our backyard. Beach access is a little tricky for those with limited mobility but the pool area was fantastic and great for all ages. We definitely appreciated the air conditioners in the bedrooms. Thanks for all the memories!

FANTASTIC KAHANA BEACHFRONT!

I cannot say enough about our stay, the house, and Suzy. From the minute you walk thru the front door and see the fabulous ocean view thru the accordion slider, you are hooked! The Polynesian feel is magical. We had 12 in our party of family and friends that included teens, twenty somethings and adults. The space accommodated all of us with plenty of space for group gatherings…and also privacy if desired. The yard/pool/hottub was in use every night during the sunsets. Yes, these are the famous Maui sunsets! The deck and yard were also perfect for whale watching and spotting turtles right in front of the house! Suzy was a wonderful communicator, quick to respond to all requests/inquires and proactive with something she felt wasn’t quite right with the house (turned out completely fine but she went above and beyond to make sure). The pool was cleaned twice while we were there with the service coming early and so quietly that we didn’t even know they were there. The house itself was well stocked, clean with the most comfortable beds. We cooked in most nights…..we just didn’t want to leave. We will definitely work hard to come back to this special place!!

Kahana Stay

This is a great location. I was worried about the pool being too small. We were 16 - 10 kids and 6 adults. The pool size was just fine and accommodated us well. The hot tub was hot and there wasn’t a fuss about temp or what to pay extra to heat it. That was refreshing considering other experiences. The beach is great. I’ve seen other comments that the beach was too rocky to utilize. We have stayed next door for 30 years and knew the beach environment. This beach is a little rocky but it is practically private for your use. The water is just the right depth and the reef is about 100 yards out. This creates a great sanctuary of space with rolling waves to enjoy. Get some swim shoes and you will be well prepared. The house is nice and accommodated all 16 of us nicely. My only negative is some simple updating would be nice for the price point. Bathrooms are getting dated, better blinds would be nice, but I am nitpicking at this point. There is no A/C in the main living spaces but all bedrooms have sufficient A/Cs. Open the windows and the lack of main room A/C is not an issue. We had 1 TV that did not function and it was replaced the next morning. It deserves the 5 stars it receives. The view is extraordinary, space is clean, and accommodations are comfortable. We will be back.

Perfect in every way

Such a beautiful property and so family friendly. We saw so many whale. The sunsets were amazing. The amenities were perfect. We were sad to leave but we will definitely be back.

Even better than promised!

Wow.... this house is everything promised and more.... such a wonderful location, amazing views and a lovely hot tub and pool... and then the balconies! Breakfast, lunch and dinner every night admiring the whales and views... the house has the perfect amount of separation and togetherness.... everyone was so happy with their bedroom! And the large TV was also great for a group.... and the person cooking in the kitchen was still part of the group! And the inside table was big enough as well! Really, a special house. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Gorgeous Location!

Our family of 7 gathered here for 2 weeks from Ohio and Australia. What a beautiful setting! The house was nicely appointed. The pool was perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. The location was close to beaches, restaurants, and activities. We spent many mornings hunting for sea glass on the beach right outside our door. Suzy was responsive to most of the house issues, which were minimal. The security safe was unavailable to us, but didn't pose a problem. Also, the hot tub by the pool does not have working jets for those who love the bubbles. However, the kitchen was stocked with all of the appliances and utensils needed for daily cooking. A lovely fresh floral arrangement greeted us upon arrival. The house itself is showing a bit of age, which doesn't show in the photos. We didn't let this dampen our delight in spending time together in Kahana Nui Villa. Thank you!

Beautiful Beach House

The perfect house for my friend and family. Spectacular view of the ocean from every level. Insane yard and pool with the ocean breaking right at the edge of the yard. Fantastic place to BBQ and and sit in the pool. Loved it.

Beautiful stay for our big group!

Our family/friend group of 12 absolutely loved our stay. It isn't easy to find a home that can accommodate all of us! The house has a ton of character & we loved the woodwork/custom features and spent most of our time out on the lanai or by the pool downstairs. It was very clean and hearing the ocean every night was amazing! Great memories made here. We did find that some things needed to be fixed/replaced. Broken chairs, umbrellas, window screens and shade screens on the deck etc. We would definitely stay again but hope some care goes into the house to match the price.

Perfect place for our large family

We were in Maui to do a celebration of life. This was the perfect home for our family of 14 with a wide age range. The host answered all our questions quickly. Everyone loved waking up and having coffee overlooking the ocean and falling asleep to the waves crashing. We used the pool and spa every day and it was fun to play ping pong too. It was a very memorable trip and we created lots of wonderful memories.

Great House

The house was great, however the beach in front is not swimmable. We were disappointed because we were told it was, you have to walk around the other side to a community in order to swim in the ocean. Otherwise, the house itself and communication/booking experience was great.

Lovely home in a spectacular location

This house is truly unique and the views incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our family of 11 had plenty of space. We did have two sets of elderly parents that had a bit of a hard time with the stairs. Just getting into the house requires a climb up a flight of stairs. The lower level outside was equipped with a nice big covered patio with plenty of seating, ping pong, and beach equipment. The beach situation was not ideal- you have to climb down some boulders to get to the sand. We never did spend time on the beach other than walking it early in the morning. The yard is so nice though, you can just hang out there all day. Lots of beach equipment is provided if you want to use it. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable, with the exception of the furniture in the living room. But we spent all of our time on the deck anyway. It does get pretty warm in the afternoon, but there are shades on the deck. There is also more comfortable living room furniture on the upper level. Our only negatives: the day we arrived there were some kind of droppings on one of the beds. I called the owner and left a voicemail and never got a call back. Twice I heard a screaching animal noise in the walls (I think) which I'm assuming was the culprit. We also spotted 2 roaches that I know of during our stay. Water pressure was another issue- extreme in the kitchen and trickling in the bathrooms. Overall an excellent stay!!

Family vacation

This property is terrific. We were amazed by the views and how well equipped it was. The location is great for almost any activity, but truthfully, we spent most of our time enjoying the house and grounds. All meals were eaten on the massive lanai, surrounded by an ever-changing seascape. We especially appreciated the vast library of books and puzzles. The wide variety of beach and water equipment was also a hit with everyone. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in returning to kahana Nui Villa.

An Amazing Experience

My family of 10 had an amazing experience, with developing many wonderful memories! The home had exceeded our expectations and the location must be one of best on Maui. Between the home, pool, beach and provided paddle board, among many other beach & pool toys. Everyone had a great time, enjoying many engaging fun filled experiences individually and all together. We also had 3 sea turtles come up on the beach to rest and saw whales from the house from dusk to dawn. The indoor/outdoor seating enabled our entire family to sit together for meals, refreshments and for some time to jointly recant our experiences from the day. The oceanfront deck is also a perfect place to gather to jointly observe the sunset over the water. My family and I have rented many different properties across the country, this one has been the Best!!! Mahalo!

Gorgeous amazing house right on the water

Our extended family of nine people loved this beautiful house, directly on the edge of the water. We spent countless hours on the large deck, whale watching and spotting occasional sea turtles. February is perfect for whale sightings. The four master bedrooms are large and very comfortable. We kept the sliding glass doors pulled back so the great room extended directly onto the wonderful deck. We spent time in the heated hot tub, and the kids dipped in the lovely pool, which is not heated. We loved this well appointed house and highly recommend it. The check in and check out is a breeze with Suzy.

Gorgeous house and beautiful location

I came with a group of 11 graduate school friends now in their 60’s and this very special house and place was almost perfect! The home is gorgeous, having a pool and access to the beach was wonderful! I said almost because one of the king rooms was not accessible except by walking through another bedroom. This did not work well for the couples in those two rooms. It would work fine for a family. However, this small detail would not prevent us from returning!

Incredible property.

I cannot thank Suzy enough for such an amazing place! We had a blast all things considered with the fires in Maui in early August 2023. Even without internet, power and cell phone service, we had a great time enjoying the pool, beach access and seeing turtles from the lanai. We would not hesitate to return to this fantastic place when we return to Maui! Mahalo Suzy!

Wonderful Stay at Kahana Nui Villa

Celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Kahana Nui Villa with our sons, their spouses and our grandchildren. With over a year worth of trip planning, everyone was wowed with this extraordinary South Pacific oceanfront home that has spectacular views of the ocean and Molokai and served as our base to explore and enjoy the Island of Maui. We could not be more pleased with our stay, as we had everything we needed to prepare meals, enjoy the great pool and use of its other facilities that helped keep the grandchildren engaged. If you have a large group, this is a place we would highly recommend.

Amazing

Can’t imagine a better place to stay! We had 14 family members with ages ranging from grandparents to 7 months old. Everyone enjoyed their own rooms/suites and also loved the common areas to spend time together, both inside and outside the house. The pool was a blast and the beach access was great! We’re already planning a return trip!

Piece of Paradise

Over all the house and location was amazing. Everything you needed grill, hot tub, pool, beach the views are amazing. Of course the one down fall is the bridge construction, I know owner has no control but it was the only thing that was inconvenient on the trip. Suzy was a pleasure to work with and hopefully will return in the future

Aloha! My Name is Suzy Moffett and I have enjoyed all the wonders Maui has to offer to those of us lucky enough to live here: surfing, fishing, hiking, fantastic dining, unreal sunsets. My family and I have our home on Maui and run Kahana Nui Villa as an extension of our family home. Our guests become part of our extended Ohana.

When we built Kahana Nui, we dreamed of creating a unique home that would complement the beauty of this idyllic location. Our plans were to build a 'pole house', but we did not want it to have the appearance of a “house on poles”. A concept was developed for a ground level Lanai adapting the openness of the Bali style homes. By having beautiful, carved screens integrated into the supporting structure, a “Balinese Lanai” could be added to enhance the home. Trips were made to Bali and Java. The skill of the carvers and uniqueness of many items expanded the concept. The carved screens were used throughout the house. The furnishings were combined with decorations to capture the Bali Style. Many ideas were suggested and different approaches tried until the house evolved as you now see it.
