Family event

Property was excellent on all counts! Clean, comfortable, and convenient. We were in town to deal with family events and it was a perfect spot to end each day in a relaxing manner. The host was so accommodating!! We needed to extend because of unforeseen issues and it couldn't have been easier. Definitely recommend if you're considering a stay in Forest City.

Christmas time

Great cottage right on Main St

We stayed here while moving our daughter into her college dorm and were very happy with every aspect of the property. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The location is convenient to everything in the area. Communication with the owner was pleasant. We will definitely stay here again!

Short Trip

The Cottages on Main are so cute and comfortable. Deceptively large and very clean. I would not hesitate to stay here again. I would add a pair of scissors to the kitchen. :)

Just what I needed

Such a clean, cozy place. It was the perfect size for me. I really enjoyed how close it was to a grocery store, and the main downtown area with a cute bakery and a few other local spots. This little place is exactly what I was looking for while visiting Tryon!

Home away from home

We really enjoyed our stay in Forest City. Our place was spacious, clean and beautiful. We came up to visit a friend and also got to go to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Very convenient to all. Met the owner Lori and she was so friendly. Only wish would be 2 more chairs at the island. Would stay again and recommend!!

Great spot!

We enjoyed our stay. It is about 20 minutes to TIEC for horse shows and served us well. It is comfortable and well-equipped, not to mention clean.

Wonderful Cottage

My husband and I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights. We were in the area for an event at the Tryon Equestrian Center about 20 minute drive away. The cottage is very tastefully decorated, nicely updated and clean. There are restaurants a few short blocks away and a walking trail nearby. We will definitely stay again.

This place was fantastic! VERY clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was well stocked. Fully equipped kitchen. The owner of this VRBO has shown great pride in their selection of appliances (full size), furniture and decor. Excellent location. We felt very safe in this neighborhood. Close to beautiful downtown Forest City with a large choice of excellent, locally-owned owned restaurants of various cuisines. We visit the Tryon area 1 to 2 times every year. This cottage on Main Steet in Forest City will be our permanent vacation stay on all future visits to the area.

Relaxing in Forest City

We found this property to be well equipped and very clean, we highly recommended this property. Just moments from downtown Forest City, close to anything you may need. Plenty to do in this part of North Carolina. 1 hour from Asheville, 45 minutes to Lake Lure. Equestrian center is less then 20 minutes away. To us Forest city and the surrounding area felt like a hallmark movie. The host Lori quickly responded to any questions or concerns we had. Originally booked 5 days and wound up staying an extra 3 because we were enjoying ourselves so much. There is also a ballpark (forest city owls) literally down the block if you wanted to catch a ballgame. For us this was a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of New York.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cottage on Main. The house was exactly as pictured, very neat and clean. The location was perfect for access to the Thermal Belt Rail Trail. Lori was a great hostess and went out of her way to make our stay excellent!

It had the feel of an old house that had been excellently remodeled. The wood floors looked original in style yet the counter tops were very modern as you can see. Lori made me feel loved in that her gift of hospitality shined. All of the extras made it feel like we were staying with family who tried to make us feel welcomed. This is definitely in a city setting but it was worth the drive for us to get to the events that we attended in another city. The places I saw that were closer to the events we were attending didn't have the good feeling that Lori's place did and in person, I felt that what I saw and perceived online was true to what I got. I would definitely consider staying in the same place next time I visited.

This is a unique property near beautiful downtown Forest City, NC. Built in 1925, the property is steps away from the Thermal Belt Rail Trail and the stadium for the Forest City Owls. A short walk or drive takes you to downtown where you will find unique shops and dining.
