Welcome to your two-bedroom, first-floor oceanside retreat on Kiawah Island! This renovated condo in the Shipwatch complex is steps away from the gorgeous Kiawah Island and just minutes from tennis and golf. Feel the ocean breeze as you sip your morning coffee on one of the decks, then step inside to make breakfast. The kitchen was just outfitted with new stainless appliances, and also features updated cabinetry and granite countertops.

Dine together at the table for six, and then head out to explore. It’s an easy walk to a private beach entrance, just for Shipwatch guests and owners. You are so close to the ocean you can hear it from the deck. There's onsite tennis as well if you want to sneak in a game. This corner unit not only features more outdoor space, with all the open-air decks, but also provides additional privacy. No matter if you’ve come to Kiawah to golf, play tennis, or just relax, this Shipwatch condo has you covered!

Great location

I absolutely loved the location of this house. I've been coming to Kiawah for 20 years and sometimes it's hard to rent a house that is close to the beach. This rental is perfect! It's on a quiet street and so close to the boardwalk. I love that it's also a quick bike ride away from Heron Park. The layout of the space was also great. It has a very open living room area and each of the bedrooms are spacious.

Amazing rental

We stayed in this condo for a quick weekend away. It was spacious and clean. The condo was fantastic and located right by the beach. We had plenty of room for the two of us and cooked several meals here. The property managers were super responsive and easy to communicate with. 10/10 recommend!

Great location

Great unit and comfy beds and furniture in den, nice TV's. Sliding door screen needs replacing and deck door base needs ro be cleaned as so much sand and grit makes it hard to close. Would rent again!

Will definitely stay here again

Beautiful place. Nice decor. Very clean . The owner provided a few special touches such as black towels to use if showering after tanning products were applied, make up removal wipes, beach chairs, easy beach access. The oven also had an air fryer option, which was a nice surprise . The nearby Market Towne Center had everything we needed for groceries. Beautiful beach area. Will definitely come back again.

Great place! Awesome location!

Great place! Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. The location may be one of the best on the island. Back steps are right off path to the beach. I’ve stayed here two years in a row.

We love the location of Shipwatch. Access to beach is great. Close by to grocery and shopping. The unit itself could use some updating to outlets in bathrooms that did not work.

Vacasa Controlled Nightmare!

We ask for an early check-in, and were told it would not be available. That was fine, but when we checked in at 4 o’clock, there was no heat in the unit, no power at all. We called and talked to a Vacasa worker, and they said the power was out in the whole community. This was obviously untrue as all the units beside us had power. We were told we would have to wait until the power company came.Next, after waiting another hour, we called again. This time, we were told that the heating unit had a problem. They said they would have to relocate us.We never got to speak to the property owners at all.

Great property in need of TLC

We loved our stay! Great location and proximity to the beach. There is not much of an ocean view, it’s blocked by the trees. We discovered a slow leak in the water heater located in the master bedroom closet. Water dripping in the bucket on top of it and we had to empty the bucket twice. Overflow water can damage back wall and it’s already moldy. Some outlets not working. Property needs TLC.

Cozy and convenient

The unit is conveniently located on the first floor in the corner with easy access to both the public and private beach access points. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Bedrooms were spacious. Garbage and laundry were extremely close by. We were provided explicit instructions and had no issues checking in or out.

The location was great and convenient to everything on the island. Being on the first floor corner made coming and going very easy. The sound of the ocean from the decks was soothing.

Great location.

Overall, our stay was great. The location is great and overall cleanliness was good. We did, however, have a couple of hiccups and communication with the property manager was sub par. The outlets in each of the bathrooms were not working. The property management company asked us to find the breaker box and reset the circuit. We couldn’t find the box and assumed it was behind the locked owner door/closet. As we looked for the breaker box, we discovered a bucket collecting water from a leak in the hot water heater room. They asked us to empty the bucket (which we had to empty several times during our stay). This should be addressed with the owners. The night before I left, I happened to look behind a picture in the entry way and discovered the breaker box. It seems that the property manager should have addressed this during our stay. I will stay here again, but would suggest better communication with the property manager if there are any issues

NOPE: Where to even start…

While overall this unit was comfortable (super comfy furniture, which isn’t always true!), it is misrepresenting its position in the building. This is NOT an ocean view. The lockboxes for the keys are nearly impossible to open. It also had a janky shower in the primary bedroom (one of the devices holding the glass door to the track just popped off mid-shower, the floors were filthy when we arrived, there was a broken wineglass that someone had put back I. The cabinet on which someone would’ve REALLY cut their mouth if we hadn’t noticed (the entire top half of the glass had broken off, so it just looked like it was a shorter glass), and when the toilet in the 2nd bedroom stopped working, it took almost 24 hours for maintenance to come. I’ve stayed in MANY Shipwatch apartments, and this has been the worst, primarily because of the misleading “ocean view” delineation. (Way to tick a guest off the moment they arrive!) One of the lamps in the living room wasn’t working, a couple of electrical outlets didn’t work, and the decor and finishings are stuck in the 80s. Also, they’ve put a gate on Boardwalk 6 and this unit only provides ONE security fob. Exactly how does that make sense in a unit for four people? Do they think everyone is going to be together at all times? Ridiculous! (Frankly, the gate itself is ridiculous-Kiawah is already a gated community! Next time I rent, I’ll be looking for a unit not manages by Vacasa (Akers Ellis is so much better at hospitality).

Great Location!

Great location, just behind dunes with private entrance to condo. Kitchen was small but well equipped. Very loud HVAC in master bedroom affected our sleep. Kiawah is so great for families and we enjoyed the biking!

I loved the location the best right on the beach. The condo was laid out just perfect and was as pictured. It was very clean and well stocked. I’d stay there again. It is very close to Freshfields Village.
