Stargaze cottage backs up to over 50 acres of bird & wildlife sanctuary. perfect blend of open space for stargazing, yard games, cooking out or relaxing; wooded lot on one side and wildflower patch on the other. great area for biking and the lake is just 1 street over. Doggy door to fenced area so you can enjoy the yard without them missing out on the fun. Screened in porch/eating area, covered porch, and fire pit as well. Hummingbirds, Eagles, and all sorts of wildlife in the area, but close enough to Clare, Gladwin, Cadillac, Harrison and Mt Pleasant to enjoy shopping and restaurants too. After a day of play, relax in the shower for 2 complete with bench seat to give your feet a rest! And the driveway is big enough to bring your toys if you are heading out to the many trails in the area. Snow snake ski resort and rocks and valleys ORV park is just 13 miles away. 2 adult size bikes, inflatable paddle boards, inflatable kayaks, corn hole, lounge chairs , park grill, hammock and private reading tee pee are just a few things available for your enjoyment.
Kitchen includes~coffee maker, French press, toaster, microwave, gas stove, oven, refrigerator,dishwasher…also full size washer and dryer.
Bathroom has a heated floor, shower for 2 with bench , Plenty of towels & wash clothes & storage areas for your convenience.
Twin size inflatable mattress and daybed in 2nd bedroom .
King size bed in main bedroom, reading bench and his & her closets.
Wi-Fi is available and charging station for iPhone or android.
There is a small sectional and a recliner with heat & massage features along with a “hobbit” stove in the living room television and a drop leaf dining table.
Many games ~backgammon, Yahtzee, uno, cards, connect4, sorry, scrabble,boggle, checkers & more.

Quick weekend getaway

Beautiful, relaxing cabin

The cabin was so comfortable and had pretty much everything we needed. Our dogs had a fenced in area, and liked the doggie door! Cute decor. Would definitely stay here again!

No words! Absolutely blown away 5 star

It was perfect from the moment we arrived, I’m from the UK and have stayed in holiday homes over there, but Oh my goodness this cabin is on another level. We could have literally arrived with just our clothes and a small amount of food and we would have been ok for the rest of our stay. We had 4 nights. All amenities and products for our use were absolutely top notchWe can’t wait to return, also our little 6lb Dog Ruby had the most relaxing time, she even spent time in the hammock with us looking at the stars

Highly recommend

We had a wonderful stay at the Stargaze cottage. It felt more like a visit to a B&B than a short term rental with all the attention to detail. The cottage is so cute and very well stocked. It is the most pet friendly place we have ever stayed which allowed us to truly relax with our two pups. We enjoyed taking advantage of all the amenities of the cottage and taking walks and hikes in the neighborhood. The host is excellent, welcoming and responsive.

Peaceful Getaway

My wife and I booked the house for an anniversary weekend and it did not disappoint. It is in a very quite and peaceful area and is a great house for relaxing in. Getting to enjoy the wildlife in the backyard while just standing in the kitchen as well as the wildlife seen on the short walk to the lake was a plus. Getting to see the fall colors starting to show as great as well. The screened in porch is a great place for some outside relaxing that still has light if you want to be out there in the evening. The shower and heated bathroom floor were enjoyable as well. This lived up to our expectations and would for sure book this house again if ever in the area. The hosts were great with communication and they had thought of everything ahead of time with all the information that is provided when you get to the house. If you are looking for a place to just get away and relax we would recommend this house.

Long weeknd getaway

The most serene, peaceful, little slice of heaven. We loved having bon fires, access to the lake, grilling and riding bikes! Laura and Danny are the best hosts and make sure every detail has been thought of.

Beautiful piece of heaven!

This was our second visit to Laura and Danny's house in less than a year, we absolutely love it! We played badminton in the front yard, counted the frogs on the pond, and played card games in the screened in patio. It was just what our family needed to kick off summer vacation! Highly recommend staying here!

An awesome birthday weekend

If I wrote a full review of this listing we would all be here for a full day. So here's what was wrong. 1. Absolutely nothing! This cottage is amazing. The hosts, amazing. The area, amazing. They thought of everything you might need to have the best possible experience. The communication is very pleasant and clear, the area is peaceful and quiet. I have already sent the booking link to some friends and I plan on booking again within the next few months. If you can get a chance to book this cottage, don't hesitate, you will not find a better place to get away and forget about the world around you. All I can really say is "muah!" Chefs kiss and hats off! Every host should be like this!

AMAZING COTTAGE

We booked stargaze cottage as a getaway with one of our dogs for our anniversary. To say we were blown away would be an understatement. This property is INCREDIBLE! Clean, chic, welcoming, and fun! The owners are truly on this earth to show care and hospitality toward others. Every small detail you could think of had been planned for. Our border collie loved the property as well. We have already booked our second trip for this summer and plan to book for the fall as well!

Perfect

Laura and Danny should be considered hosts of the century. Communication was easy and perfect. They were so generous with our stay. We arrived to snacks and a toy for our dog Penny! The house is amazing and so cozy. It was great to be able to bring our dog and not worry what the hosts think, they are super dog friendly. The house is as described and more. The big shower and heated bathroom floor was great. I was also excited to find a perfect cast iron pan to cook with. We’ve rented a lot of get aways and usually the cast iron is not so perfect. We normally stay off grid but this time we were still looking for quiet but didn’t need the solitude, while in a neighborhood, you feel like there are no neighbors, it was super quiet. We got to see deer every morning and night, some even visited us while we were having a camp fire. It was a great long weekend get away and will definitely consider coming back.

Hi, we are Laura & Danny Robertson~ blessed owners of Stargaze Cottage. We have been together since 1980! With so many things to do in Michigan, places to visit, restaurants to try, festivals to experience... not to mention the 4 beautiful seasons we get... in 2015 we decided to look for a little cottage to renovate centrally located in this wonderful state. We are loving everything about our little place and all the day trips we can take from here, from taking our dune buggy to the dunes and trails, shopping in traverse city, BBQ in Cadillac , even going up to the Mackinac bridge for an outing now & then. But truth be told... we enjoy the cottage itself the most. Riding our bikes through the neighborhood, taking the paddle boards down to the lake, relaxing on the porch and wow... that view of the stars at night! But after having a few family members and friends visit... we were told it is too wonderful to keep to ourselves ~ so we decided to share it! We really hope you all enjoy it as much as we do. I would let you know the best season to stay, but I think they are all equally enjoyable... Summer ~ yard games, cooking out, naps in the hammock.
Fall~ the colors of the trees, enjoying the firepit, walks through the bird sanctuary.
Winter~ the snow covered pines are picturesque, the icy lake is so peaceful, enjoying hot cocoa and board games in the evening in front of the tiny stove... and then
Spring~ sounds of birds & tree frogs fill the air as the season of renewed life returns. And truly... the night sky can be pretty spectacular, the Milkyway is visible at times, and we see shooting stars almost nightly. So whichever season you choose... we wish you wonderful adventures, time to relax and joyful experiences!
