Riverfront Cottage on the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River offering a large enclosed porch overlooking the River!

This newly remodeled cottage offers an updated kitchen with granite countertops, dining area, living room, bathroom, and enclosed front porch with rocking chairs on the main floor. The second floor offers an open bedroom with a view of the river and an office area.

Outdoors, you will find a firepit, picnic table, lawn chairs, grill, and access down to the river. The Juniata River offers a great place to sit and relax and build a campfire or if you want to get out on the water you can fish, kayak, or canoe. Kayaks are available with a signed waiver. Raystown Lake is located approximately 25 minutes away. The depth and clarity of the river will depend upon the weather and cannot be guaranteed by the property owner.

The Bedroom offers a Double Size Bed, and the living room offers a sofa bed with a Double-size mattress.

The Kitchen is stocked with dinnerware, cookware, kitchen utensils, microwave, and Keurig. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom are all stocked with linens and towels.

Cell phone service is limited, and no house phone is available. WIFI is provided by Brightspeed and is 10Mbps or less. Flatscreen TV has a firestick connected.

NOTE:
This is a unique cottage with steep steps leading up to the second-floor bedroom and down to the river. These and other carefully curated features add to the distinct character and charm of the property. But they may pose safety risks for very young children and those with mobility challenges. Please ensure that you’re comfortable with these elements before booking.

Firewood is not provided.
Kayaks are usable with a signed waiver.
No parties or fireworks.
No Smoking.
No Pets.
Other cottages are located on both sides of the subject cottage.
Drinking and cooking water is provided. Well water is not potable.

Weekend getaway

Everything was great at Ole Gray. Check in was easy, everything was just as it said it would be. Bed was comfy, place was clean, plenty of extra blankets and towels. Would definitely stay again!!

Quiet, Peaceful, and Serene

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The place is impeccably remodeled and we really appreciated that this place had some of its original charm too! I gave it 4 stars but it really should be 4.5, only because I felt that the steps leading up to the bedroom were really more like a ladder and we felt they were too steep to navigate especially in the middle of the night. So we opted to stay on the pull out bed instead. From the pictures it looks like you can fish right from the back yard but the bank is too steep. However we found some spots that were a 5 min drive away! The scenery is gorgeous in the Fall and can’t be beat! This place is also fully stocked and we really appreciated the kitchen and the closed in porch! Cody was such a great host and we definitely enjoyed our stay! Would recommend to anyone looking to book a quiet, peaceful, secluded getaway!

Quaint place & relaxing retreat

We were looking for a close by and quiet weekday getaway and this place delivered. The upstairs loft bedroom reminded me of climbing into my boys’ treehouse. I loved it. Note that upstairs is a double bed with a headboard and footboard. Definitely will go back!

Relaxing getaway

I had to travel to PA for a doctor’s appointment. I chose this place to stay because it appeared to be relaxing, in a scenic location. The property was exactly as described and more. All amenities were readily available, and the host was informative and communicative. We got some much needed rest during our extended weekend, and we’ve already talked about wanting to come back!

Peaceful and fun

My husband and I needed a quick getaway where we could disconnect and be in the moment. This cabin offered it all, and we did some sightseeing. Beautiful cabin, the host was committed and obviously cared. Don’t hesitate to pick this property, especially if the outdoors are calling!
