Best place on the Island that I have ever stayed at!!!!
I've been traveling to Exuma multiple times a years for over 10 years and stayed at many places, some way more expensive than this lovely Bahamian traditionally brightly colored cottage. Blue Oasis overall is my favorite!
The host is quickly responsive and messages you to ask if everything is alright and if you need anything once you arrive. They are happy to offer advice on where to go, and what to see and do to make sure that you experience all of Exuma's character, wildlife, and beauty.
Exuma is a small, quaint island required to recycle, reuse, and accept things as imperfectly perfect because of the high price to live in paradise. Most accommodations show wear and tear from the years of rental, and have things that don't work. I was surprised to see this cottage looking almost perfect with everything in good functioning order. They even thought to place things around that would be extra special for guests such as bug spray, aloe lotion, a visitor's guide, games, chilled bottled water in the fridge, and reusable shopping bags since no stores on the Island have paper or plastic bags, among many other special touches.
The place was immaculately clean. There were also numerous extra blankets, pillows, towels, beach towels, etc. Most places don't do that. The bed is exceptionally comfortable like a Sleep Number adjusting mattress. The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated with everything you will need on your vacation. It even has a full kitchen with all the nice cooking and serving ware of home and nice wine and regular glasses and a nice corkscrew!
Yes, a car is recommended. But, a car is recommended staying anywhere on the Island because the best attractions and most beautiful places are scattered along 60 miles of country roads. Taxi's are a bad, not always available, expensive option. And, currently, no public transportation exists.
Blue Oasis is tucked away only 2 minutes from the main highway in a quiet area on a private piece of property where you can relax and not be bothered when it's time to rest and recharge.
At such an affordable price and overall amazingness of the cottage, you would be crazy not to book this place! This was my second time there, and I will book it several times again in the future!
