Vår halmtaklägenhet är mycket mysig och utrustad med allt du behöver för självhushåll. Det är en villa över 214 år gammal, som inte är särskilt stor, men med sin charm mer än kompenserar för detta faktum. Förutom gascentralvärme och en extra gasspis med vedeldad optik (€ 3,50 per enhet - beräknad via en gasmätare), har denna stuga en egen router med snabbt och pålitligt internet, satellit-TV, kökshörn, dusch / toalett, soffa, dubbelsäng, Bord och stolar, utomhusveranda och privat parkeringsplats. Om du inte känner för matlagning kan du beställa frukost i vår lilla restaurang, som bara har 16 platser, för € 6, - och en 3-rätters meny för € 9, - till € 12, - per person. Från din stuga har du utsikt över Lough Allua, en fiskrik 10 km lång sjö som du kan utforska med våra båtar och kanoter. Vi hyr också cyklar, enkel- och dubbelsits kanoter och erbjuder ridlektioner och åk på våra två hästar Beamish och Feilim, 2 avslappnade "Irish Cobs".

Des vacances comme on les aime.

Nous avons passé une semaine de dépaysement total. Un pays magnifique, des paysages grandioses, des irlandais très chaleureux et sympathiques. Le logement se situe en pleine campagne, très au calme, et chez des hôtes adorables.

Filthy, smelly, no views, poor hygiene

Where to begin with the very long list of issues. We booked for 6 nights but it was SO BAD we left after just 1 night. The property was described as having " From your cottage you have a view of Lough Allua", there were no lake views unless you walked half a mile down the lane a peered through the trees to get a brief glimps of the lake. When we opened the door we were hit by an overwhelming smell of air freshers that we found were there to cover what smelt like animal urin smell throughout the property including the bed and bedding. The TV has around 80+ channels but they were just about all German language channels with just a couple of English ones. Even if you wanted to watch the TV you couldn't as the remote control was broken on mute. The leather sofa had a throw over it which also smelt but was there to cover the large hole in the sofa The toilet seat was damaged. The bathroom sink was cracked. The kitchen sink tap had a constant slow drip. Not sure what it was but there was something growing on the bathroom wall. We'd booked to have dinner in the "small restaurant" which turned out to be an old conservatory on the back of the owners house. When we arrived we asked for a menu but were told we would be served whatever they had decided to cook that day. Greg then came out to "serve" our food, his hands were black with oil and grease. He informed us that he had just been rebuilding a boat engine, hence the oily hands. I'm not sure I can descibe how horrible it was

"Wholesome"

Nice and clean and everything was provided for self-catering. Greg and Ziggy were very friendly and did not interfere with you in any way. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the bed was so comfy 😋. My Rating: 10/10 Eugene

Ich hatte hier eine super erholsame Woche

Das Anwesen liegt schön abgelegen und es ist nur wenig Verkehr drum herum was es sehr ruhig macht. Es war sauber und alles da, was man braucht. Check in und check out waren sehr einfach und Greg ist auch sonst sehr hilfsbereit. In seinem eigenem Angelshop kann man sich für wenig Geld am Tag eine komplette Angelausrüstung und ggf. Ein Boot mit Motor ausleihen.

Wonderful, beautiful location

Although not fishermen, we found the area ideal for exploring and reaching tourist spots. Every bend had a magnificent view. A must to visit is Garinish Island. We had a warm welcome and delicious evening meal, caught by Greg. The cottage was tiny but cosy and had everything we needed. Thoroughly recommend this location and hosts

Rustikal. Gemütlich

Außergewöhnliche Ferienwohnung. Alles notwendige ist da. Super nette Gastgeber. Gutes irisches Frühstück. Tolles Abendessen für Leute mit dem ganz großen Hunger. Alles hausgemacht und richtig lecker. Die perfekte Adresse für alle Angelfreunde. Unser Hund war herzlich willkommen, auch vom hauseigenen neugierigen Pferd und der sehr aufmerksamen Katze.

Lovely spot but a strict organization

The location is perfect to have a quiet stay and enjoy some walks. The host, Greg, is available and propose several services. At our arrival our house was extremely humid and cold and if you want to use the heating you have to pay for it. Toilet paper is also at your charges.

Peaceful and cosy

I absolutely loved the place. It was a true Ireland countryside experience and a great location for exploring surroundings. My dog was warmly welcomed and we had great walks nearby. Owners were super friendly and i felt at home. Got great local tips and all the other visitors were very friendly too.
