Cozy Cabin: A Peaceful Retreat
Cozy Cabin sits in an ideal location, halfway between Fairplay and Alma, overlooking a pleasant valley with mountains beyond, and the villages of Breckenridge and Frisco less than 45 minutes away. After tediously studying a dozen or more rentals, my husband and I settled on Cozy Cabin because of its open ceilings, windows everywhere, and inviting atmosphere. We were pleased when we arrived to find the cabin as welcoming as we'd hoped. Even on rainy days, the cabin was light, bright, and cheerful. It is obvious that the owners, Patrick and Ashley, delight in sharing their mountain home with others. They were impressive communicators... always ready to answer a question or provide a suggestion. We prepared our own evening meals five out of our six nights. What a pleasant experience to cook and dine while gazing upon some of the most tranquil and beautiful countryside Colorado has to offer. A bonus for us was the fact that Cozy Cabin sits in the middle of history. Looking down from the cabin and slightly off to the left are the diggings of old gold miners. Between the historic diggings and the cabin are beautiful aspen trees which, for us in August, showed off their splendor with fluttering leaves. This three bedroom, two bath cabin with wide open space and large deck offers peace and quiet, but also convenient access to hiking trails, a nearby reservoir, fun shops, historic "South Park," unique restaurants, and grocery stores.
