New construction 5 Bedroom 3 1/2 bath home centrally located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Home is designed to sleep 12-14 guests comfortably. Favorite features include TV’s in each bedroom, large TV’s in living room and family room, inside fireplace, outside hot tub and fire pit, and a large game room with many options. This home is in the Powderhouse Pass development and features a community clubhouse with pool table and shuffle board as well as a community swimming pool. Plenty of room for parking trailers for snowmobiles and ATV's. Short walk to the community building and clubhouse with outdoor heated pools (one open year round), splash pad, and fire pits.

Property was exactly how described! It fit all 14 of us and could have probably fit another family. Hot tub was nice and clean! Beds were comfortable!

Great family get away!

We’ve stayed several times in the Black Hills.This property and neighborhood was one of our favorites! Plenty of space and things to do for all ages. Host was wonderful on communication. Very much enjoyed our stay!

Thanksgiving 2024

Thanksgiving is always WONDERFUL to spend with Family! Our tradition was BLESSED beyond measure with this FULLY stocked beautiful home nestled in the trees and what the Hills has to offer. Very comfortable & clean for our children and grandchildren! Kitchen FULLY stocked, high chair, games, toys and books for the kiddos, Hot Tub to welcome us all, phenomenal Location to do a little Deadwood and take in the Christmas North Pole train ride from Hill City. Wouldn't change a thing! Great communication with the host!

Beautiful Home

Loved our time at the Black Hills. This home was beautiful and well taken care of. Every room was amazing and every detail from the blanket/ throws to the coffee mugs were lovely. Beautiful home / larger than pictures look!

Questions or concerns home owner was in contact within 2 hrs max each time. AMAZING JOB! Two washer/dryer sets were perfect for our group of 11. Two refrigerators. Room for 7 motorcycles (could have fit more) and chairs , coolers for evening gathering (in the driveway). We also hung on the deck some nights while grilling. Plenty of dishes to cook breakfast and dinners at the house and a table we could enjoy a meal together.

Top notch, Worth every penny

The hospitality and amenities here were above and beyond, we even left some behind for the next guests. Plenty of chairs, kitchen utensils, table space, snow shovels and sleds for the winter months, even a pressure washer. Anything and everything you might need will probably be here. For us the entertainment value was second to none with no less than a dozen activities not to mention the board games available. Some needed a little attention but we were able to play all of them. The only negative experience during our stay was no dresser or shelf space in the bedrooms. Not everything can be hung up and we had to function partly out of suitcases. Thank you for having us, we would certainly book again.

Immaculate

We have been coming out to the hills skiing with our kids and friends for over 10 years and have stayed in many different cabins in several different developments near Terry Peak. This cabin is the best we’ve stayed at…Immaculate, fully stocked kitchen including spices & coffee, a welcome gift, 5 king beds with high end linens, heated garage, perfect location and an amazing game room. Communication with the owner was a breeze with quick response to questions. Had such a great say and stayed up way too late playing poker the game room;) Thank you so much!

Perfect

From booking to checking in, our experience went amazingly smooth. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. And our 6 grandkids loved and hung out in the game room when we were there. It even had toy farm equipment. That was just what our 3 youngest boys love doing in real life and playing. We were very close to Andy's trail rides so I took our grandaughter for a ride . It was stunning and they were very accomodating. We highly recommend this Kickback Shack, and plan on keeping it on our growing list of favorite places to stay in the hills. Thank you Brad!!

South Dakota adventure

There were 6 of us, 2 seniors, 2adults, and 2 teenagers. Accommodations were excellent. Plenty of room for everyone. Games room and hot tub were a big hit with everyone. Kitchen had everything. Used the community pools several times. Our stay was wonderful.

Beautiful cabin noisy neighbors party way into the morning with 4 Wheelers constant. Furniture is not for older people no comfortable at all . Also pricey esp when we can check in till 4:00 pm and have to check out at 10 am. If you figure it out very expensive. Plus all the add on charges will keep my family away.

Friend enjoying Custer park, Spearfish Canyon and local towns

Very beautiful property and clean. Met all our needs. Easy check in check out is basic as other rentals. Enjoyed the hot tub. Went to the pool once was overloaded with kids. Only recommendation is an adult only hour or two at the pool. Game room was amazing wish we had more time to enjoy (exhausted after riding all day) . Ice machine by the wet bar😁Will definitely rent again location was also great not far from Lead/Deadwood. Ultimately a great place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Kick Back Shack

The house was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed being able to spread out over three floors. All of us enjoyed the game room and the hot tub. In fact, the younger kids would have been happy running from the game room to the hot tub all day. The house was large and had plenty of kitchen supplies and storage areas. We also appreciated the laundry machines. We did have a small issue with the fancy, dancy lock device on the garage door entry. It quit working the second day we were there. We contacted the property manager and he gave us the code to the front door of the house. This was much, much, much, much more efficient than the door lock going into the garage. I am convinced the only people that lock would keep out would be those renting the property. It would have been much less stressful if we would have been given the front door code from the beginning. Only one concern. We were told that quiet hours were from 10-7 a.m. each day. The first two nights the gentleman's club operating next to us did not follow those guidelines. Both nights we had yelling, laughing, music, etc. until 4:30 a.m. The third night they were relatively quiet but there were two guys throwing up on the lawn when we woke up. To our relief, they checked out and it was peaceful and quiet for the rest of our stay. This is something that should have been handled the first night by the security staff at the welcome center. Other than that isolated incident, we had an enjoyable stay.

Amazing property!

Wow, the Kickback Shack was the perfect choice for our 2 families/group of 12. Beautiful house, with the huge game room as a bonus! Our wide age range of kids had the greatest time with all the different game options! Even little tractors and books for our 3 year old son. This house had it all! We were sad to leave, and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

Beautiful retreat among the pines!

We arrived to the Kickback Shack at night and in a heavy snowstorm. As we neared the property, we noticed a bright light coming toward us... a snowmobile trail groomer! This location must be epic, we thought. And as we soon discovered, it was. The property owner provided us with excellent directions and as we pulled into the epoxied floors of the oversized garage, we couldn't help but marvel at this perfect place to bring your toys for a family getaway. Upon entering the home, we were greeted by a handwritten note from the owners along with a gift of local buffalo snack sticks and custom Kickback Shack tumblers. Our traveling companions had arrived before us, and soon all the kids were racing around choosing which bedroom to claim. There were so many places to sleep, each room exceedingly well-appointed and perfect for two families traveling together with room for even more. Soon we followed our kids' excited screams to the basement, where they had discovered the massive game room. We picked up an impromptu game of shuffleboard and then decided to crack open some vino, make some snacks and unwind in the hot tub. We found everything we needed in the kitchen to make ourselves at home. This place is incredible. Following the coziest night's sleep after a long day on the road, we woke up early to enjoy our coffee from the hot tub once more. The sun was shining on the newly fallen snow, and we couldn't believe the beauty of the mature, tall pines surrounding this home. While located in a brand-new development, it felt very private and secluded. A total hidden gem. The Kickback Shack served as a pass-through pitstop as we returned to Minnesota from a week-long ski trip out west. Ironically, this place proved to be the real destination, and we can't wait to return to this beautiful retreat among the pines.

Kickback Shack is a newly constructed home with most amenities that vacationers are looking for. There are plenty of private spaces as well as several areas for groups to visit and relax. There are 5 bedrooms with Smart TVs and king beds. One includes a bunk bed, also. A Loft with desk and futon provides space for work and for extra sleeping needs. There is a Living Room area with a fireplace; both Living and Family rooms have a large screen Smart TV; a Family room with wet bar, extra refrigerator, and ice maker; and a Game Room that includes a pool table, ping pong, darts, foosball, shuffle board, air hockey and a multi-game table top video game including Pac Man, Dig Dug and many others. There are numerous decks and patios with seating, a hot tub, gas grill, a gas fire pit, and a gas fireplace in the living room. In addition, there are many popular activities close by year round.

This property has parking for cars and trailers as well as some off-site parking available in the Powder House Pass Development. There are paved roads and fire hydrants close and throughout the development. The Community Building which is a short walk, is well kept and will accommodate large groups. This community space also includes a table for games, a pool table and shuffleboard. There are two outdoor heated pools with the smaller one available year round. A splash pad for children and a couple fire pits with seating are available for your enjoyment.
