Denna unika fastighet ligger på en ö i St. John's River strax söder om Welaka Fl. Stugan är fullt utrustad och ligger på en vackert skuggad flodfront som ger möjlighet att båt, fiska, bada, vattenskidor eller bara koppla av på 40 fot verandan och titta på floden gå förbi. Ocklawaha River och Silver Glen, Salt och Juniper Springs är bara en kort båttur. En marina med full service ligger tvärs över floden och många restauranger och sightseeingmöjligheter inklusive sportbasguiding finns också tillgängliga. Vilda djur inklusive rådjur ses ofta på ön tillsammans med vattenlevande fåglar och rovfåglar.

Drayton Island var hem för många precolumbianska indier och har mellanhögar och andra spår av dessa tidiga civilisationer. Om du inte äger en båt kan du hyra eller köra bil på ön efter att ha passerat färjan. Naturligtvis finns lanseringsfaciliteter och tillbehör belägna på fastlandet.

What an awesome place!

We had another couple and our two dogs. I would highly suggest staying here. We rented a pontoon went to Salk llama and Silver Glenn. Neighbors are very nice and our dogs loved the place. So did we. Excellent hosts!!

This place is a treasure.

We stayed for the weekend to attend a local sailing regatta. Idle Awhile resort was amazing, short boat ride to the property which is an absolute treasure. Coffee on the screened in porch in the morning was an absolute treat.

Friends trip on Lake George

This house on Lake George felt just like the cabin I grew up in. No shiny thrills but that’s the point! Fantastic screened in porch. Dock is very easy to tie up to and has an area that is protected from the wind. Loved the trees on the property and the sandy road that connect the houses on the island. We saw many deer, blue herons, and even an owl! Highly recommend this property!

A breath of fresh air

We got exactly what we wanted at Drayton Island. We unplugged, unwound, and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. The location is so convenient, the dock was easy to pull up to, and the house is very cozy. The neighbor was very friendly and we enjoyed a nice night by the fire. We are looking forward to going back when it's a little warmer and if you ever want sell let us know!!

Perfect Getaway

This is the 3rd time in the last 7 years that we stay at this vacation rentals. This is the perfect retreat for families to just relax and enjoy each other, as well as the beauty of Drayton Island. Totally recommend the place to future renters.

Perfect escape

Thank you Valerie for an amazing trip. House was perfect, had everything we needed. Nice cove for boat, weather was chilly, but the last day cleared up and we had a nice time in the springs. Only a short boat ride from Renagades ! Will definitely be back!

Great weekend retreat!

We absolutely loved this cabin for a weekend away. Having to get there by boat was a fun adventure for us and the house was everything we had hoped. We will definitely be revisiting this listing in the future! Highly recommend! 10/10

Fantastic getaway!

This is a wonderful option to enjoy the St John’s as a getaway for your family with your boat. The cabin is cozy and comfy with a beautiful and easy to navigate dock. You have to see the sunrise, it’s amazing. The location gives easy and fast access to Georgetown’s IdleAWhile & Georgetown Marina, and a quick trip to Welaka’s options too. Show the locals some due respect and they will amaze you with their hospitality. Only slightly into the N end of Lake George gives you Salt Run as a destination to enjoy the springs, or Silver Glen slightly further down the lake. It’s close enough to destinations, but Drayton island leaves you feeling like you are truly a world away from everything. Highly recommend this unique place to stay.

Fun place for an adventure on your boat.

We had a great weekend on the lake. The property was as it was described and also had plenty of amenities. We were pleased with the kitchen ware and grill which was plenty for us to make our own meals since there is no where to eat "on the island." However the location is great and with in a couple really cool restaurants you can dock at and eat. Close to the springs and you can jump right in the boat from the dock and head straight to them. The dock was recently done and had plenty of ties for us for our two small boats. The patio was huge and screened which we enjoyed watching the after lightening storms on. The pull out couch was broken but there were air mattresses in the closet and we did not have any issues otherwise.

Island River Life

We so enjoyed this cozy cabin and the island river life, and were happy our dog could too! It was super convenient to put our boat in across the river at Georgetown marina and park the truck for $10 a day. The cabin had everything we needed and plenty of fresh, comfortable bed linens & towels. We had fun exploring the island, seeing deer, armadillo, birds, owls, bats, jumping fish and alligators. It’s a nice boat ride to beautiful Salt Springs. Parked the boat at the marina to make the short drive to visit Mud Spring. Built a really cool fire pit out of a giant tree log left by the fire pit. Enjoyed rainbows and sunsets and sun rises and thunder storms and a zillion tree frogs snd cicadas, Had a really great time.

Island time

We stayed three nights and didn’t want to leave. This place was awesome. Beautiful property with friendly neighbors. Very nice dock. The porch was probably our favorite. It was huge and great views. The place had 2 bedrooms and 1 and a half bathroom. It had a kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal and a microwave for easy stuff. WiFi worked really well and satellite tv. We really enjoyed our stay and will be going back again as soon as we can. Our pup didn’t want to leave either. Missy our pup loved hanging out on the porch too. We also enjoyed walking on the island and seen wild Turkey and even a couple of deer. It was a great stay.

Friends bday party

We LOVED the location & rented an RV spot at the Georgetown Marina that was deep enough for the trucks and trailers to back into the space. The property is slightly north west of the Marina & super convenient to grab ice & gas on the way across the river to the home. We expected the fish camp/weekend accommodation and thought the trees, the dock, the small alcove that protected our boats from the boat traffic waves were all amazing. Having the water & spray to rinse off the boats in the morning is nice. There's a large bench at the end of the dock, the perfect place for fishing AND morning coffee & evening cocktails. A few negatives - the back door would not lock and the keys located in the laundry room did not fit the lock or would not lock the door. The home needs a thorough dusting/cleaning. We had a great time and would recommend this spot for anyone who wants a casual weekend on the river.... and bring your boat! :-)

Stay away- safety, security and cleanliness concerns

Let's start with lack of disclosure and safety regarding this nightmare to stay away from. First we were told there was a bear on the small island the day we were checking in. In the communication they said to keep an eye on your kids because the bear only comes out when it is hungry. Let's continue with safety issues. The slider only locked on one side leaving the other side unlocked and property unsecured and vulnerable while sleeping or off for the day. Next- the smoke alarms were disconnected and inside a dresser drawer in one of the bedrooms. Next- lack of cleanliness with the dirty refrigerator and freezer, dirty stovetop, the dusty floors and the spider webs adorning the window blinds in the bedrooms. Then there was the dead lizards and roaches in the light fixtures. We have pictures to prove. Next- some outlets were broken and left unsafe which is a safety hazard for kids and adilts. Don't bother , stay away. Oh the owners response is that the place is rustic.

Absolutely wonderful as usual!

My buddies and I book this cabin every year in July for our yearly get together and it never disappoints. I would absolutely recommend this property for anyone looking to spend time on the St. John’s river or the springs or to just have a place to hang out talk and have fun. Looking forward to next year.

Nice, quiet place. Just what we needed

This is a one of a kind stay, peaceful. The house has everything you need to relax and enjoy the St John’s River and surrounding springs. The host is very commutative and friendly.

Our towels aren’t monogrammed and our sheets don’t match…But if it’s tranquility you seek we think we are quite a catch…Take a nap on the dock , tie a line to your toe.. When it’s time for supper Mr Catfish will let you know…bait up your traps and without much toll..brother crab will be your guest at a low country boil
Leave only your footprints when it’s time to go, but don’t forget your memories..you be back soon, this we know ,we can’t wait to see you brother Fran and brother catfish to our quaint shack on the river where you’ll have a new story to tell.
