You will love the serene setting of the Garden Grove Apartment. Nestled in a cedar stand, this unit is part of the Garden Grove Retreat complex situated on nearly forty wooded acres in the village of Garden, Michigan.

Close to all the central U.P.'s best attractions - Pictured Rocks, Fayette State Park, Kitch-iti-kipi (Big Springs), Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island, Marquette, Iron Mountain Iron Mine, and more! 10 minutes from Fayette and Tylene's sand beaches. Hunting on MI state land nearby, fishing in Garden Bay, Big Bay de Noc, Fairport Lake Michigan access. Cross-country ski at Fayette, Indian Lake, Rapid River. Snowmobile trail accessible at Garden Corners. Golf at Garden, Nahma, Stony Point Golf Courses.

The unit has a private exterior entrance accessible from State Street or through the main lobby.

Parking is onsite. Easy self-check-in. Host is available by phone or text if needed.

The space is the former priest's apartment for the Marygrove Retreat Center. The spacious apartment has all the amenities of home yet in a nature retreat setting. 3 bedrooms upstairs: two king bedrooms and one bedroom with 2 twin beds. Both bathrooms are located in the king bedrooms, so the twin room will need access to one of them. The apartment is part of the larger Garden Grove Retreat, a getaway destination in the central Upper Peninsula.

You will have access to the full apartment plus almost forty acres of grounds, yours to explore! Please note there will be other guests on-property.

A smart TV is located in the living room. Free Roku programming with Netflix is pre-loaded for your enjoyment. Feel free to stream your own channels. No cable or satellite.

You will want to fly into Escanaba (ESC) or Marquette (MQT) airports and rent a car to drive to the Garden Grove Apartment. 50 minutes from ESC, 75 minutes from MQT. Or, an easy drive from anywhere in the U.S.

Garden Grove Apartment is just a few minutes from Bay access at the Garden Bay boat launch. Sand beach swimming is nearby - 10 mins to Fayette State Park beach, 10 mins to Tylene's at Garden Corners, 20 mins to Rogers Park in Thompson. Snail Shell Harbor at Fayette Ghost Town is a great place to explore and fish off the dock. You can get chartered boat tours of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore or rent a pontoon boat - 1 hour north.

Unique experience!

We stayed only two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The apartment was roomy, very clean and so comfortable. We could access the retreat center to enjoy the bakery cafe, the common room and the breakfast dining room. We walked the trails, walked to the play ground, and art store. We traveled the short distance to Fayette State Park and took in the history of the area and beauty of Lake Michigan. I hope we can visit again!

A gem

The Garden Retreat center was perfect for our all girls’ winter get away. The center was quiet. Everyone we met was very nice and helpful. The apartment is spacious and well stocked for meal prep and cooking. The grounds allowed us to do some cross-country skiing.

Golf course cabin

Peaceful and relaxing visit to the UP. The cabin is well stocked and spacious with gorgeous views of the golf course and deer visits in the morning.

Perfect Setting

WOW- great stay in Garden!!!!

We were so impressed with our room. We had the 3 bedroom 2 bath with kitchen and loved the location and the set up of our little suite. Our location was fantastic to our friends who live less than a mile away. The communication prior to our trip was excellent and the breakfast (continental) was perfect. We spent 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We did not have time to walk the grounds but everyone we met said it is beautiful. We will be back!!! Out of 5 stars, we give 10 stars!!!! Thank you!

Very Clean and comfortable

Living room and dining room are large. Kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and pans -- all that I needed for food prep. When I had questions, communication with the manager was easy.

Comfortable Stay in the UP

The location was comfortable, convenient, and very clean! The wifi stopped working on our first night but was fine on the second night. The kitchen needs some more supplies but we were able to make it work. Thank you for the great stay!

Hiawarha Forest

We enjoyed our stay here as the unit was nice and clean when we arrived. The putdoor area of the retreat was also beautiful and had plenty of areas to explore. The property is located about 1.5 hpurs from Pictured Rocks, which was beautiful. We would definitely come back here again!

Spacious and great location

We enjoyed staying at Nicole’s place, very spacious and great location. It is very close to our favorite restaurant “Dock’s Bar and Grill”. The only thing I would recommend is to make this place more homey. Overall, we had good experience.

Property Manager and host Nicole is a U.P. native and is local to the unit. A team of local house and groundskeepers work together to make this property a must-stay gem.
