Lyxig Lakefront - Nära Acadia & Bar Harbor

Underbara lakefront hem inbäddat på 2. 2 mycket privata tunnland. Med över 250 fot fasad på Toddy Pond, ligger huset 75 meter från vattnet, ovanpå en liten stigning, vilket ger en härlig utsikt över sjön genom träden. Toddy Pond är en av de mest önskvärda sjöarna i downeast Maine. Den charmiga staden Blue Hill vid havet ligger bara 15 minuter bort, med Acadia och Bar Harbor cirka 45 minuters bilresa.

Detta helårshem är välutrustat, med ett gourmetkök, lyxig master-svit och lönngolv överallt. De vardagsrum, matsal och kök delar en öppen planlösning, förankrad av en massiv granit spis, ger en mycket rymlig känsla, även för större grupper. Ett spektakulärt välvt fönster kastar ett soligt läge i vardagsområdet hela dagen.

Stora Lakefront Getaway!: Toddy Pond är den perfekta sjön för en resa till Maine. Åtta mil långa, men bara en halv mil eller så bred, har den tre distinkta delar och många klippor, vilket gör det till valet för dem som letar efter ett tystare alternativ till andra sjöar i området. (Det är inte gynnsamt för stora fritidsbåtar på grund av stora stenblock som lurar precis under ytan.) Hemmet ligger på den västra stranden av den mellersta delen. Så om du letar efter en plats för ensamhet att koppla av, bada, fiska och kanot, men med bekvämligheten med attraktioner i närheten är detta platsen för dig.

Mycket centralt beläget. Förutom det traditionella Bar Harbor och Acadia-området är Castine, Blue Hill, Deer Isle och Stonington alla underbara resor på kort avstånd från hemmet.

Perfect house for the family

We enjoyed our stay at Loon Cove tremendously. The house was beautiful, bright and well-maintained. We had six adults and a two-year old and there was plenty of room for everyone and plenty to do. Kayaks, bicycles, fishing poles, table tennis, board games, books, fully stocked kitchen, tons of towels, blankets, etc. Access to the lake was easy and the weather was great. We would certainly consider visiting again.

Perfect family escape on Toddy Pond

This house was the perfect spot for our annual summer lake trip. Plenty of bedrooms and configurations to comfortably sleep everyone and lots of fantastic common area space. Super comfortable living room (lots of cozy seating), spacious kitchen, and a giant dining table (though we ate most meals on the outdoor deck overlooking the lake). We loved being able to send the kids outside or to the basement to play. Toddy Pond is magical, and this house and space made it all the more so. We hope to return for future trips.

wonderful!

This is our second stay at Toddy Pond, and it was just as wonderful as the first time! Love the house and the view! Great space for our family of ten! Our only wish is for a third bathroom. Love being able to canoe from the dock and Acadia hiking during our week there. We recommend the Searsport Maritime Museum and the beach park across the street, Fort Knox, and the Penobscot Bridge Observatory, Castine, and Bar Harbor visits, all within reach of this lovely house. Hoping for a return visit.

Maine Family Vacation

My kids and grandkids enjoyed a week at Loon Lake. The house was clean and the common spaces were a delight. Across to the lake was wonderful. We ended up renting kayaks for the week and enjoyed using them to explore the lake. The bathroom situation is awkward, but workable.

Simply perfect Maine getaway spot.

Loved this property! Even better than advertised. A super quiet remote spot. Pond was frozen so we skated for miles, warmed up by the fireplace at night. Great kitchen for cooking family meals. Day trips to Acadia National Park and Ellsworth. Perfect.

Thumbs up for this one! Our family had a wonderful time at Toddy Pond. We loved the house location, size, and amenities. We rented canoes and thoroughly enjoyed the lake. We were within reach of Bar Harbor and Acadia and enjoyed hiking there. We enjoyed a visit to the Penobscot bridge observatory and Fort Knox. Groceries were conveniently nearby. We all would love a return visit!

Toddy Pond was wonderful! We had a family vacation with the Nifongs from Harrisburg (see their comment.) The kids had a blast kayaking. The house was clean, well equipped, and the price was right for the fun we had. We're heading back again in 2006!

The house and location were great. This was our 3rd visit to the area, but the first in the winter. The house had everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. The location was very accessble for many interesting day trips. Blue Hill was a very charming Maine Coastal town. We also enjoyed trips to Camden and Bar Harbor. We hiked the Carriage trails in Acadia and climbed the trail up Blue Hill mountain.

Loon Cove a wonderful place for families

I just wanted to also say what a wonderful place Loon Cove is for families. Our children (now 12 and 6 years old) love swimming and kayaking from the dock. The hammock by the pond is a delightful place to read to children, and to watch the pond and the occasional animal or bird that comes by. The owner (Dan) provides play and recreational things for kids (and also a high chair). We have been coming back with our children since 2011.

Loon Cove is Spectacular

Loon Cove was the perfect retreat for our family. We stayed at Loon Cove during the last week in March and it could not have more tranquil or relaxing. Toddy Pond was frozen and the property was snow covered, making the days quiet and bright with the early Spring sunshine. The house itself was perfectly clean, very well maintained and well stocked with everything we could ask for, especially the kitchen, where we found the widest array of quality kitchen implements that we have ever seen in a vacation rental. We used the grill for dinners, and made a fire in the large fireplace each evening. We drove to Acadia for a day of hiking, and found it to be an easy 60 minute ride away. We were also impressed with the quality provisions available a short distance away at the Blue Hill Co-Op Market. Overall, Loon Cove is a spectacular property, and we would gladly visit again any time of year.

Loon Cove

This is a wonderful place and we would definitely consider returning. The house isbeautiful and very spacious, with a very well equipped kitchen; comfortable, clean furniture; and good beds! It easily accomodated our family of 8 (2 children, the rest adults). The owner left lots of detailed information in writing and the man who delivered our kayaks offered us lots of good information about the area as well. The lake was wonderful - just the right size and very clean.The only drawbacks were the lack of a dock (there is only a platform which made it difficult to get in and out of the water especially to swim) and the access to the 2nd floor bathroom (the only access is from the Master Bedroom). We coped with both quite nicely and had a wonderful time.

Loon Cove Vacation

This is a spacious, very well equipped home. Great for relaxed vacation with three generation family ( we had 10 people, parents, two adult children and their families). Everyone had a great time with the 2 kayaks and canoe that we rented and were dropped at the property and picked up at the end of the week ( very easy). There were plenty of tubes for floating on the pond. A good time was had by all. We very much enjoyed the packet of information the owner sent us prior to arriving including directions and information on surrounding towns and restaurants. We had a great time exploring the area. The only reason for the 4 stars was the beds. None of them were comfortable and should be replaced. Otherwise it is a great place to vacation.

The house was wonderful - We had out 18 month old grandson and his parents . He loved the open spaces, his toy trucks rolled really well on the floors. He was very excited to sleep with the animals on the second floor. We should have brought a baby gate to block off the stairs. The house was beautiful and with the leaves off the trees we had a perfect view of the lake. On our last day we woke up to the first snow of the season. A nice surprise, wish we would have gotten snowed in thru Christmas. Thanks for building such a lovely house, and hiding a bunny in the garden. Jan Fox, Rick, Jon, Angela and Garrett Hunter. A small piece of heaven

A really beautiful home, very well equipped, clean, light, spacious, airy and well located. For the money, this is a ton of house. My family and I were so pleasantly surprised; it was a wonderful place to spend a relaxed week, paddling on serene Toddy Pond and sunning on the private dock. Loons abounded, and their cries could be heard through the windows. A bald eagle's nest on the tiny island in the middle of the pond afforded us a close-up intersection with this incredible bird. We would have enjoyed an outside fire-pit. Also the wi-fi was down about 90% of the time and didn't respond to router restart; when it was working the speed was extremely slow, but this was actually nice as we had come to disconnect and were provided a little support in this endeavor :) Overall, it would be a pleasure to return.

Love the loons!

This is a beautiful house on a very quiet pond. The open concept makes it very comfortable, the granite fireplace is unique, the dining table seats 8 if you want to have a dinner party, and the kitchen provides everything you need to make it a success. The wrap around porch with its view of the water is a great place to relax and read a book. My favorite part, though, is the deck built into the boulders at the side of the pond. Wake up early, make yourself a cup of coffee, and catch the sunrise as you listen to the plaintive call of the loons and the splash of fish. Those are memories that will live long after we go home. On top of all that, though, this location is perfect. Away from the bustle of Acadia, yet close enough for day trips. Close to Blue Hill with great restaurants (our favorite is Arborvine) and convenient grocery shopping (Tradewinds has everything you'll need). But be sure and take a drive down to Stonington and enjoy the back roads along the way. The Maine coast is incomparable.

Loons!

Probably the highlight of the property was that we heard the loons often. Pros: This is a nice house and is aesthetically pleasing. The check in was very easy. We’ve stayed in several VRBOs and this one was by far the best stocked with supplies. We really appreciated this. The property was incredibly quiet. The neighbors are spaced to give privacy. Con’s: although the furniture looked nice, there was not one piece of furniture that was comfortable to sit on. The sofas and loveseat are incredibly soft with zero support. When you sit you sink. This was not pleasant for our backs. So it was hard to find a spot that we could get comfy in to read or watch tv. Also, although it probably was just bad luck for us, the a/c unit in the primary bedroom was not working (heat pump issue I believe). There was a window unit that worked but it was incredibly loud and not up to the overall standard we were expecting. The primary shower is probably past its prime, the door would stick and it was hard to open, also had stains that come from age (along the door), not horrible, but not the standard we were expecting. One last thing…the dock. Perhaps it’s a drought year in the area but the dock was not long enough or needed steps into the water. It was difficult to get in and out of the water to swim. You had to ease yourself off the one step onto some very large and slippery rocks. I cannot imagine how children would be able to navigate this. Again, perhaps the water line is usually higher.

Varför värden valde detta boende

When we moved from Boston to the South in 2002, we had a dream about retiring to Maine some day. When we stumbled on this lakefront gem, we knew it was destiny. It's so quiet and peaceful, but lives like a "real house" not a lakefront cabin or something. We were smitten and the rest is history.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The way the house sits elevated above the water, with the huge deck looking out through the trees at the lake is just spectacular. You could just sit on the deck for hours. The fact that it's situated in a cove is just a bonus -- the cove is always calm and perfect for swimming. The finished basement with ping pong, foosball and its own TV area is always a hit with the kids. The living area is just spectacular -- a two story living room with a massive granite fireplace and huge wall of windows facing the lake makes every day a beautiful day.
