This is a private apartment on the ground floor of our house. At about 900 square feet, it includes two oversized bedrooms (one king and one queen), plus a kitchen and bathroom. (Layout is not a "shotgun").
Amenities include a full size refrigerator, microwave, 12 cup coffee maker, and wifi internet. As a ground floor unit, there are no stairs, and there is an electronic keypad door lock for your convenience. During daytime hours, you're welcome to share our backyard for a morning cup of coffee or pre-dinner glass of wine.
The rental is located on a quiet residential street in the centrally located Mid-City neighborhood, 2.5 miles from the French Quarter. Just a two block walk gets you to the streetcar, with a 20 minute ride to the Quarter or downtown. Walk the other way, and a block and a half stroll puts you in City Park, to enjoy your morning café au lait and beignets at the world famous Cafe du Monde, nestled there amongst the majestic oak trees. Restaurants, bars, and supermarkets are nearby.
The apartment is walking distance to Jazzfest, Bayou Boogaloo, Oktoberfest, and the many festivals at the City Park Festival Grounds. The Endymion Parade rolls just a half block away.
If you're driving, you'll find ample, free on-street parking.
If you prefer to pedal, there's a bike share hub nearby, right on the Lafitte Greenway for a short off-street ride to the Quarter.

Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask our guests to keep volume moderate both inside and outside the apartment. If your New Orleans vacation means drinking all night on Bourbon St. and then keeping the party going when you get back (no judgement, I used to do that myself in my younger days), then this rental might not be the right fit for you. But if you want a place to relax, experiencing a real New Orleans neighborhood in a super-convenient location, then we'd love to have you as our guest.

We fell in love with New Orleans as visitors. The music, the food, the festivals, and most of all, the people. After years of increasingly frequent trips, we finally decided that we needed to make New Orleans our home.

We bought our home for its perfect location. The City Park neighborhood is a quiet oasis away from the hubbub and crowds of the French Quarter, but when you're ready, that excitement is just minutes away.
