About:

Quaint cottage located just a third of a mile walk to charming Black Mountain. Three bedrooms (Queen, full, and twin) and one bathroom easily accessible on one level. Bring your pup to enjoy the large back yard or enjoy the sounds of the Flat Creek river in the back yard. We do not have direct river access from our yard, but you walk up the street to the Greenway Entrance. Fully stocked kitchen with drip coffee maker to enjoy a cup of joe on the back deck overlooking the creek! Walk to the greenway entrance just three doors down. Only minutes away you will enjoy family-friendly waterfall hikes, many breweries and art galleries, fabulous local restaurants and the top tourist attraction, The Blue Ridge Parkway. Located just 15 minutes from Asheville, 20 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, and 45 minutes to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. A starter kit of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags are provided.

Living Area, Kitchen & Dinning
The open floorplan of the main living area provides plenty of seating including barstools looking into the kitchen. Cozy up next to the electric fireplace on those chilly mountain nights. Dining table with seating for 5 in the kitchen. Stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. The door in the kitchen leads to the wrap around deck with a propane grill and seating for alfresco dining! Board games, cards and books provided for rainy day fun!

Outdoor Area & Amenities
Parking for 3+ cars is available. The yard backs up to the Greenway. You can easily walk to the Greenway entrance which is just three doors down across from the Primary School. Down by the creek you can enjoy s'mores around the firepit with picnic table.

Bed & Bath
Three bedrooms and one bathroom on one level. One bedroom contains a twin bed and washer and dryer in the closet for use if needed during your stay. The second bedroom contains a queen bed and the third bedroom has a full sized bed. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo.

T.V.
Stream favorite Netflix and Amazon Prime shows on the smart TV. and fire stick. Wi-fi is provided.

The Location
Perfect situated 1/3 mile walk into down town Black Mountain. Located just 17 miles from downtown Asheville, it’s a short drive to unique shops, quality restaurants and local galleries. Explore The Biltmore Estate, a 20 minute trip from home. Learn about our local hiking trails, explore the quaint town of Black Mountain, or take a quick ride to the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore more trails and spectacular views. Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure is only a 45 minute drive. Grocery store just a mile away.

Location is great

This place is bare bones. We loved the location for sure, but there was not anything like soap or laundry detergent to even use when washing our stuff when checking out. There was only the one tab to use for dishes for checking out. The beds were comfortable. The couches were so bad, you just sink down in them. There was some musty smell in there that was making a couple of us all stuffy. It might have been that it looked like pets were in there regularly. We found a bone under a table. We were told there was no pack-n-play, so we brought one. There was one there though, but we already had packed ours and brought it. Maybe better we did though. It was easy checking in and communication was good.

Disappointed and neglected

On arrival, there was no handsoap for the empty dispensers, no coffee, no extra trash bags, and the "welcome basket" had 2 tide pods and a small dawn dishsoap dispenser. There was a package of cookies just sitting on the table that I hope were left for us but no note. The couches were terribly uncomfortable and in disrepair. They had random pillows thrown under very loose couch covers, and you could feel the buttons on the cushions all hanging on loosely by a thread under there. The tub had a 3-inch crack in the bottom that was very suspiciously soft underneath. There was enamel spray paint under the sink for the tub, so they just painted over the crack, but it still would not hold water for a bath and is very unsanitary. It's unfortunate that this home has so much potential to be nice but is neglected. It's obviously run by a real estate company that makes much more money off their higher end properties and has let this one go into disrepair. So much mildew on the porches that it was slippery. There was no firewood for the grassy fire ring with only 2 chairs stacked by a shed, so they don't really want you having a fire. There was already loose trash in the outside bins when we arrived with a note saying we would be charged for any loose trash in there. It was already a disappointing experience and then we had to leave due to emergency texts coming in all night notifying us of flash flooding along the Flat Creek in the back yard and the impending devastation from hurricane H

Nice spot for a weekend in Black Mountain

We stayed here for a weekend in Black Mountain, (2 adults, 3 older kids 12-18) and had a good time, certainly perfect for the price. It is reasonable walking distance to downtown (about a half mile) and it's a quiet neighborhood with a view of the creek in the back. You can't access the creek from the property but you can from end of the block and it's very pretty. There was also a tailgate market at the church at the end of the block one of the days we were there with music and cool things. We definitely had a lovely time.

Family trip

When we arrived, there was trash and rotten meat all over the driveway. All three trash cans were knocked over. We texted the number given to us via text. It took about three hours to get a response. We had already cleaned it all up because we had dogs with us and it smelled terrible. It would be better for trash to be removed in between guests since animals are in the area and the trash smells. Overall, a great location. There is a lot to do within walking distance. Great restaurants and coffee shops.

Comfortable, Convenient and the Creek

The house is very comfortable, clean and well-stocked for a short or long stay. It's minutes away with a pleasant walk to Black Mountain. Behind the house is a beautiful creek that's perfect to look at, listen to and stroll on. I'll be back!

A great fall getaway!

We loved our stay at the Greenway Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed. It was peaceful, and the short walking distance to town was fantastic. To be able to walk less than a half mile to good pizza/pasta, a brewery, a massage, and yoga was fabulous! Sitting and watching the leaves fall from the deck was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend!

Reunion visit

Greenway Cottage is a great property, in an excellent location for those wanting to be centrally located in the Black Mtn./Swannanoa area. There is the obvious easy access to everything else not necessary to mention here. The cottage is welcoming and was generally clean. The kitchen cabinetry and drawers could use attention. The appearance of the lawn and exterior seemed indicative of the change in seasons and apparent slow down in care. Overall, the cottage is an excellent value and we would consider a future stay.

Great location. Close to downtown and Montreat college. We loved the walking trail behind the house and closeness to downtown. The house had everything needed for a 4 day stay.

Great place close to Asheville

It was a great place to stay. It was clean and comfortable. They had everything you need. If you are a tea drinker they had an awesome assortment. Great place that is close to Asheville and the surrounding area.
