Good

The location was in a neighborhood that seemed a little rough but no issues what so ever. The house was very safe and nice! Perfect for what we needed. The property owner was excellent and very kind. I highly recommend staying here. One thing I would mention is that there wasn't enough towels or toilet paper but that can happen anywhere! Overall, would book again!

Horrible

Arrived to find a neighborhood of unkempt shacks. Host lawn had not been mowed, and weeds were knee-high. Had trouble with access because the instructions noted a lockbox would be found in front of the house. After messaging the host a number of times I went out to give time for a reply. Two hours later I returned and looked around some more, and did find a box on the side of the house near the back. The toilet seat was caked with urine. The shower curtain was covered in pink bacteria. The dish drying rack had layers of dust and mineral deposits on it. The bed had a top sheet, but no bottom sheet. There was a mattress protector that appeared to have some spots of mold on it. Pillows were in shams with no pillow cases. The bedroom closet housed a portable toilet that appeared to be designed for people with disabilities. At first I tried to make it ok - I cleaned the bathroom, replaced the shower curtain, figured I could wear shoes constantly and never have to make contact with the dirty floor, cleaned the kitchen, and purchased some sheets. Once the hope faded due to exhaustion and disgust, I gave up and got a hotel room. Consistently messaged the host to try and have a conversation. NEVER received a single reply.

Perfect size for a small to midsize family. I enjoyed the board games for our family to enjoy in between sightseeing. There was also baby bolls, puzzles and little toys for younger kids to enjoy, so something fun for all ages to enjoy. The bedrooms had plenty of space and furnishings for belongings. The kitchen and bathroom were mostly furnished. It would have been nice for there to be a can opener and skillet pan for making pancakes. What I disliked from this experience was the lack of supplies to replenish like toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, and trash bags. The trash can in the restroom had no bag when we arrived and none were found in the sink cabinets, so we used our own bags. Only one trash bag in kitchen trash can with no replacement bags to be found. There wasn’t a laundry basket to put dirty towels in. The knob on the dryer was broken off so we had to air dry our laundry and owners never replied to messages concerning this issue. I suspect the house may not have been thoroughly cleaned prior to our stay as I ended up with blonde dog hair all over my black shirt after sleeping the first night in the master bedroom. The street where the house is located is very crowded! Many vehicles double park along the street making it difficult to drive through and often vehicles were parked in front of the house as well. This makes it tricky when the back room on the property is also rented and both occupants have to share the driveway since the road is taken up.

San Antonio Visit

Visiting my 10 YO grandson from Oregon. The overall size, cleanliness and comfort of the house was perfect. The neighborhood was a bit run down and of slight safety concern at first but otherwise I’m quite happy with my stay.

Central Location, Close to Everything

This property is located very close to the downtown area. It was a little bit intimidating coming in at night, but the neighborhood seemed safe. It was mostly quiet aside from the occasional train passing through (not too close) and a rooster crowing in the mornings. All of our planned activities were within 30 minutes of the property and we were able to get Ubers too and from very quickly when necessary. The house shares the laundry facilities with a separate rental house on the same property, which is located behind the this house. We didn’t have any issue with this whatsoever. The adjacent renters were quiet and polite, we didn’t hear them much at all. The house is very cute and tidy, but it was a bit dusty. There were a few small specks of mold on the shower curtain and some trash left behind a nightstand in one of the bedrooms. Aside from that it was clean and welcoming. The heat & AC both worked wonderfully. Everything we needed during our stay was provided; dishes, utensils, linens, laundry detergent, paper goods, an air fryer, toaster, hair dryer, shampoo, etc. There was even filtered water available in the refrigerator. There’s not much counter space in the bathroom, if that’s important to you. The bed sheets were low quality and the beds weren’t the most comfortable, but overall it was a great stay. Check out instructions were very clear. We would stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

Best host I've ever stayed with!

We were a bit concerned at 1st because the neighborhood didn’t look great, however, it was a nice & quiet stay. The host were amazing!! Everything about this stay was wonderful! House had Everything we needed then some. All shampoos, conditioner, body wash, even a curling wand & straightener brush. Kurig pot with pods, all utensils, etc... I was in town for a convention and the home was close to the convention center and the riverwalk. Will be staying with this host again.

Satisfied traveler

This house was a short drive to river walk. Clean house with everything to fit our family of four. 2 adults and our 11 year old twins. Very comfortable. We traveled by train to San Antonio. 9 min drive from train station and 2 min drive to river walk and a 23 min drive to sea world. 3 bedroom and one bath and we only used 2 bed with plenty room to spare. Owners lived on property on back and were very nice. No complaints on this stay at all. Would definitely stay her again.

Quant cottage barely outside the heart of SA

This place was an excellent find for me and a buddy who wanted to visit San Antonio for the eclipse. We both have animals and couldn’t leave them at home so the host(s) were gracious enough to accommodate us for our needs. It was practically the only place for the numbers of critters in tow. The place is just outside the city center and my buddy and I rode bikes into town several times. The place was not in a bougie environment so if one is high class perhaps this place isn’t right for you but for us folks down to earth it was perfect. The host (James) was expedient in all replies/communications and the place AC was turned on and cooled down nicely before we arrived. Anyway, an excellent find for those traveling with animals and bikes.

Great Stay

Great home!! It was clean and had all the essentials. We were able to bring our dogs and they enjoyed it. It was close to Lackland AFB and we got to enjoy my son’s Air Force graduation!! I would definitely stay there again!!

Cute and close to downtown

The property is super cute. We enjoyed our stay. Definitely close to downtown, which was convient considering the wedding we attended was downtown. The owners answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns. It felt like home away from home. Will definitely recommend this home to others.

Hidden gem with wonderful hosts!

Moving away from texas became a task after our first house fell through the same time our lease was up. This was the PERFECT transition from apartment living to being in a real house. The owners are kind wonderful people. Would recommend to anyone looking for a safe place to stay in San Antonio
