Disappointing Property

Two of the four bedrooms had bed linens that clearly had not been washed and changed from previous guests. My wife and I had to strip and wash/dry them prior to the family arriving. Not what we want to do after a long trip. Smoke detector battery removed, microwave oven door handle was broken, nauseous sewer smell in master bedroom coming from septic likely, master toilet loose from the floor and in danger of tipping, no hand or bath soap. Shower container for soaps was empty. Dirty kitchen floor and bathrooms. Not enough wash cloths for even 6 guests. We had to purchase soaps and washcloths. Home is unkept and not clean. I notified the owners regarding a list of items after a couple of days, no response.

Nightmare on Hawthorn

Enter at your own risk. This property has potential but is being grossly neglected. The first thing you’ll notice is that it smells of grease, which was caked on all the kitchen surfaces. The refrigerator and freezer were dirty with food from previous guests. The microwave handle is broken and the dishwasher wasn’t operational- the manager did not fulfill his promise to get it fixed. The bathrooms and all floors were beyond filthy. The throw rugs and comforters were soiled and smelly. This is a short list with too many maintenance issues to list them all- Dirty cabinets with sparse and worn out pots, burnt out lights, toilet tissue holder and screen door falling off, dryer banging and not drying properly, the walls are scratched and stained. We spent several days cleaning while the property manager made excuses and was unable to get effective cleaning done.

Great vacation rental

This rental met most of our expectations. It was clean, in a quiet neighborhood and close to all the places we wanted to visit. Communication with the owners before and during our stay was great. We would rent this place again if we are ever in the Saratoga Springs area.

Our Saratoga Springs Vacation

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Saratoga Family Retreat. House accomodations good and neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Saratoga Springs has a lot to offer, enjoyed Historical Park, and many other parks, kids loved Peerless swimming pool and geiser springs hikes.
