The home is perched above the ocean with views all the way to Gullholmen and Karingon. Below the house is a dock and a comfortably decorated boathouse. You may want to put some of the chairs out on the dock for an afternoon shrimp party.
There is a large tube to float around on (itâs great to tie it to the dock), and two kayaks one small and one large.
The upstairs level of the home has two large bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with heated floors. In between is a lounging area with computer table (although itâs a bit difficult to get any work done here due to the incredible view), seating area with a sofa that folds out into a queen size bed, a book case, flat screen TV and a Bose sound system.
There are two balconies, one on each side of the room. Depending on the time of day, one or the other is usually in the sun and the other one offers shade. The smaller one faces the ocean, to the left you can see Karingon and to the right Stockenâs âdiving tower.
The downstairs has one bedroom and a newly renovated bathroom with a large ârainâ shower head. The TV room has an L shaped sofa, a flat screen TV and the DVD system will play DVDs from all different âworldâ zones.
The living room has a spectacular view over the archipelago and Gullholmen! Sink into the comfortable sofa and get lost in the beauty of Sweden.
There is a breakfast area for 4 in the bright kitchen. A Miele dishwasher makes clean up easy. The dining room has floor to ceiling sliding glass doors to the outside (yes, with a beautiful ocean view). The dining table has âinsertsâ that can be added and can seat 12 or more guests. The veranda outside the dining room has teak furniture for dining and sunning.
There is WiFi.
Below is a âcellarâ with 2 Miele washing machines and 2 Miele dryers. There is also an extra fridge that can be plugged in if necessary.
Although this home is mostly used as a âsummer homeâ itâs been constructed for year around living and has been used throughout the whole year. Although the summer is stunning here, the spring and fall seasons are both exquisite. And the winter is a writerâs paradise; quiet, peaceful and serenely beautiful.
Stocken is a small âfishing villageâ on the very west/north tip of the island of Orust, on Swedenâs west coast. In the last 20 years it has become one of the most sought after locations for summer homes, although a lot of the homes are passed down through generations and never come up for sale, so itâs quite rare to be able to buy a home here.
Swedenâs West coast archipelago is legendary as thousands of boats of all sizes crowd the harbors. The difference between Stocken and most of the other villages is that Stocken is very much in the middle of the âhappeningsâ but still secluded. With Gullholmen just a few minutes to the north, Karingon a short boat ride to the west and Mollesund and Halleviksstrand to the south, you can choose to surround yourself with the crowds, or relax on your dock in Stocken with a bit more peace and quiet.
Next to the house a small path meanders through a wooded area, if you take a left at the end (a couple of minutesâ walk) it takes you to the beach and Stockenâs diving tower. The tower, with the house in the background, has been featured in many books and magazines.
Right before you enter Stocken there is a campground with mini golf, mini mart, kayak rental and a restaurant/pub where a lot of famous Swedish dance bands perform. At âTofta gardâ, a walking distance away, one can enjoy concerts, and a golf course is also nearby.
Stocken is about a 30 minute drive from the town of Stenugnsund, approximately an hour from Gothenburg. Oslo can be reached in a few hours by car, or train.
