Incredible place

What a beautiful home. The house has everything including a hot tub. The view is astounding from each bedroom and the main part of the house. We did a hike and then would go off to Merlefest. Perfect place to stay.

Fantastic Cabin With Beautiful Views

This cabin had it all...great location, beautiful mountain views and was very clean. The on-site management were so friendly and as a bonus there was an on-site restaurant with live music. Our kids loved looking at all the horses on property. The only thing that could have been better is if the speakers through-out the cabin worked properly (they were staticky). We'd definitely book this cabin again.

Mountain Retreat

Peaceful Horizons is a fantastic house for a family getaway. My family of four spent a week here. Yes, it is a longish, twisty drive up the mountain -- but the view is worth it, and the quiet is priceless. You can choose to stay put and have plenty (or nothing) to do, or you can drive an hour and experience Boone, Blowing Rock, and other area sites with shops, hiking, and history. Asheville isn't too far for a day trip. It was a great, relaxing vacation!

Simply Amazing

The experience was absolutely amazing. This spot has everything you need in a cabin! Privacy, views, great on site amenities and it was well stocked with everything you need and everything you think you may not need but they have it just in case! I’m am astonished at how well this rental accommodated our ever single need. Our kids enjoyed themselves and me and my husband got the reset we so desperately needed. I know for sure I will be booking this spot at least every 6 months! LOVED our stay!

The View: Masterfully Created

We had such a grand time! Honestly, the pictures do not give it justice. You must see it for yourself . The view of the mountains reminds me of Gods grace and mercy. Such a beautiful , scenic and majestic view. Such a peace there. The cabin was beautiful and that too, was unexpectedly beautiful crafted and decorated. You must see if for yourself! Pack your food and meals for the days there and ENJOY!

Breathtaking views - Amazing home

I rented this property for a weekend getaway with 3 friends. The property is located at the top of the mountain but the roads are well maintained so there was no issues making it to the house. The home is very well kept, the home was very neat and clean. The home is so spacious although there are only 3 bedrooms. There's space for up to 6 people to sleep comfortably. Everything you need to cook and eat during your stay is provided (I.e toaster over, pots, pans, utensils, seasoning etc). The outdoor hot tub was a great addition to this property and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to renting it again in the future.

Reviewer Comments: This isn't our first stay in Leatherwood and it won't be our last but from now on this property will be HOME! This well cared for home has everything you need to feel at home during your stay. It is well cared for and impeccably clean. Peaceful Horizons is name perfectly. There is sense of serenity throughout the home with the magnificent views seen from so many vantage points. If you are looking to "get away" and unplug, this is the place. If you still have to stay connected the fiber optic internet is there to keep you connected. We will be back.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Peaceful Horizons. The house is gorgeous and very comfortable. It was an ideal location, particularly when trying to social distance. We had no shortage of things to do both in the house and out. Just sitting on the deck enjoying the view or playing ping pong was enough to make the trip a success. We also enjoyed horseback riding and swimming and tubing in the river. My only suggestion would be to do a little spring cleaning in the kitchen and add a set of glasses. For a rental at this price point I don't expect to need to get a drink of water out of a coffee cup or plastic cup. While the kitchen is otherwise well stocked with the necessities it is a bit of jumbled mess making it difficult to find things. We had to clean up the hand mixer before using it as it was covered in dried batter. Also, the grill was really dirty, particularly underneath where it seems to be missing the grease catcher. These are really small things and overall it was a great experience! We hope to be back soon!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our quick escape to the mountains at this home. It is a beautifully built and decorated home, and it was very easy to figure out how all the amenities worked. The beds are comfortable, and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets for the cold weather. Bathrooms were clean, and plenty of towels, soap, toilet paper provided. Teenagers loved the basement game room. The gas fireplace in the great room did a great job of keeping us warm and cozy. Best part: the amazing views from the back deck and hot tub. Most difficult part: the trip from check in to the house is long and winding, but the pay off is worth it!My one complaint (and I did see this in other reviews): the kitchen needs a deep clean. There are food crumbs in the drawers (especially in the utensil drawers), and many of the pots and pans were dirty. To be fair, other renters likely left them dirty — but overall the kitchen was kind of gross and we felt the need to wash things before we used them (dishes were fine — really just cookware and cupboards in need of cleaning). The house also might benefit from a new set of pots and pans — even after cleaning many of the pots and pans were just in bad shape.

Thanksgiving at Leatherwood

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It has become a tradition to spend Thanksgiving weekend at Leatherwood. This year we had Peaceful Horizons. It is a beautiful house in a really quiet part of Leatherwood. We had loads of room to spread out, used the hot tub, played lots of pool and table tennis. The view from the deck was fantastic and the hiking and walking were right there and lots of good exercise. The staff at Leatherwood is always gracious and helpful and we hope to continue our stays at Leatherwood. Peaceful Horizons is truly an inviting and restful home. Thank you Leatherwood.
